Chapter 2385
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
âIf it isnât because Iâm rushing to meet my friends for dinner, I wouldâve chosen to call the police and let them deal with you. But I'm in a hurry and don't want to waste time with you. Mrs. Mendez, youâre an adult and should know whatâs right and whatâs wrong. Donât repeat your precious daughterâs mistakes.â
After Ava's solemn reminder, she turned her head to look at Tom apologetically. âI'm sorry, Mr. Lowe.
Due to my personal affairs, I got you involved too. I'm really sorry.â
âYouâre too polite. Youâre an employee of my company, and someone is here to make trouble. Itâs only right that I help you.â Tom's attitude was very serious. As he said that, he raised his dark eyes and looked at his employees.
âGo home now so that you wonât get hurt all because you chose to be nosy.â Tom glanced at Naya's mother when he said this.
Everyone understood what Tom meant, and they did think that Naya's mother could be dangerous.
They did not want the same thing to happen to them as that employee who had their milk tea snatched.
The employees left one after another. When Naya's mother saw that there were no passersby to incite and knew that it would be unfavorable for her to continue to deal with Ava, she left angrily after saying some harsh words.
Ava did not want to stay too long either. She sent a message back to Madeline and was about to leave when Tom held her back.
âYou're soaked all over. Why don't you change your clothes before leaving? It's still raining outside.
You'll catch a cold if you go out like this.â
âThank you for your concern, Mr. Lowe. My friend is waiting for me downstairs.â
Tom nodded to show his understanding. Before Ava left, he decisively took off his suit jacket and put it on Ava.
Ava was stunned for a moment. When she was about to reject, Tom smiled and said, âPlease donât mind this, and donât overthink it either. The most important thing right now is to stop yourself from catching a cold. Your friend is still waiting for you downstairs, so you should go down first. Don't make your friend wait too long.â
Now that Tom had said so, it was not easy for Ava to reject him.
âThank you, Mr. Lowe. Iâll return this to you in two days.â
âNo rush. Iâm not in a hurry to wear this.â
âOkay.â Ava did not say much before going to the elevator to head down immediately.
Daniel, who was looking for Ava, had just entered the door when he saw Ava coming out of the elevator.
He raised a smile and walked over to Ava. Unexpectedly, he saw that Ava was wearing a man's suit jacket.
Daniel was stunned for a moment. He slowly stopped, not knowing whether to advance or retreat. A very strange feeling appeared in his heart.
At this time, Ava also spotted Daniel. She never thought that Daniel would come to the company to find her.
âDanny.â Ava happily ran in front of Daniel. âDanny, why are you here? Are you here to look for me?â
Asmile quickly returned to Danielâs face. âI heard that you work here and it's raining today, so I came to pick you up from work.â
Daniel's answer warmed Ava's heart.
She originally planned to go to Madelineâs place tonight. She had just given Tom an excuse earlier when she said she had a friend waiting for her downstairs. Since Daniel was here for her, Ava was more willing to hang out with Daniel.
Ava was happily thinking to herself when she suddenly noticed Daniel's eyes hovering over her upper body.
She lowered her eyes to look at the suit jacket on her body and realized something. Without hesitation, Ava took off the jacket over her body.
Only then did Daniel realize that Ava's upper body was wet. âWhy are you wet?â
