Chapter 2305
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
After finishing her work for the day, Ava packed up and was ready to head to the apartment.
As soon as she left the entrance of the company, a car drove up in front of her. After the window was rolled down, she saw Tom raising a very gentlemanly smile at her.
âWhere to? Let me send you.â Tom was very polite.
Ava was stunned for a moment. Although Tom, her boss, was very friendly, he was still her boss. It would be a little uneasy for her to hitch a ride from her boss.
When Ava was about to refuse after thinking about it, Tom unexpectedly got out of the car and helped Ava open the door to the passenger seat. âGet in the car. I'll drive you.â
"..."
Ava did not know how to refuse Tomâs direct behavior for a moment.
âActually, you don't need to feel uneasy. I know where you're going, and I'm about to go there as well.
Itâs more convenient like this.â
Tom's explanation surprised Ava.
âYou know where I'm going?â
âUh-huh.â Tom gave a meaningful smile and motioned Ava to get inthe car again.
Out of curiosity, Ava eventually got into Tom's car.
After the car started, Ava could not help but ask, â Mr. Lowe, how do you know where I'm going?â Tom smiled when he heard this. âOf course, I don't know where you're going. If I hadnât said that, you probably wouldn't have gotten into my car.â
Upon hearing Tom's explanation, Ava was once again stunned.
It turned out that Tom only said that to make her get into the car.
Ava then smiled embarrassedly. âMr. Lowe, thank you very much, but the place I'm going to is nearby. It only takes a ten-minute walk. I really don't need to trouble you.â
âSince it's so close, then thatâs even more reason for me to send you there.â Tom gave her a friendly smile and asked where she was going. Seeing that Tom was so polite, Ava did not want to waste any more time and told Tom the address. Tom nodded and turned the steering wheel.
He could see that Ava was a little uncomfortable, but perhaps he was a businessman, he could behave naturally and without restraints.
âI heard that youâve encountered some troubles recently. Actually, you don't have to be in a hurry to come back to work. Iâ1l let the other colleagues follow up on the project youâre working on. You can take care of your matters first.â
Tom was very polite. When he saw that Ava seemed surprised and puzzled, Tom continued.
âYou're good friends with Maisie, and she likes to hang out with you. Maisie told me about you. Sheâs very nosy, after all. Don't blame her for telling me so many things.â
It turned out that this was the case. Ava was immediately relieved. Then, she instantly felt a lot more at ease.
âHow can I blame Maisie? I know that she cares about me. Although Maisie and I don't spend a lot of time together, J] also like her very much. She has a strong sense of justice and is straightforward in everything she does. I can see myself in her. I think Maisie and I are the same kinds of people."
Tom smiled in agreement when he heard what Ava said. °
Although it was time to get off work and there were many cars, they arrived at their destination very quickly. He even opened the car for Ava gentlemanly.
âThank you, Mr. Lowe.â Ava thanked. âThen I'll go in now.â
âOkay, go ahead,â Tom said and turned to get in the car.
âPomeâ
Suddenly, the curious voice of a man came from not far away.
Tom stopped in his tracks, and Ava looked up as well. She saw that it was a tall and well- proportioned middle-aged man in casual clothes. He looked elegant, and at the same time, he also looked scholarly and refined.
