Chapter 2183

After Daniel told her that he was getting into a fake engagement with Naya this Sunday, Ava started becoming inattentive.

She would be lying if she said she did not care. Even though it was fake, she still felt uneasy in her heart.

Ava’s uneasiness was spotted by Maisie, who was right next to her.

“Ava, do you have anything on your mind? Why do you look so preoccupied?” Maisie asked in concern.

Ava came back to her senses and shook her head to deny it. “No, I’m just thinking about how to handle this next design.”

“Doesn’t look like it.” Maisie smiled and blinked. “Ava, did you have a fight with your boyfriend?”

Ava turned her head with a smile upon hearing that. “When did you also become so nosy?”

“I’m not nosy. I’m just concerned about you.” Maisie emphasized with a serious look on her face.

When she heard this, Ava fell into silence.

Maisie was even more sure that something was wrong now. “Ava, you can tell me if there’s anything that’s making you unhappy. I see you as my good friend. You can share with me all of your problems.”

Ava felt her heart warm up when she heard what Ava said. She did not expect to meet a friend who genuinely cared about her. 1 She smiled and then sighed silently.

During lunch, Ava told Maisie all of her troubles.

After Maisie heard that, she was slightly stunned. Then, she asked in disbelief, “No way. Isn’t this something out of a TV show? I guess this happens in real life too.”

“I don’t want this to be real either, but they’re getting engaged the day after tomorrow.” Ava sighed after she said that. Then, she corrected herself, “Fake engaged.”

“Even if it’s fake, you must feel horrible, right?” Maisie has a distressed look on her face.

Ava did not deny it. “I don’t have a choice. I hope that Danny’s grandpa can be safe and healthy too. I don’t want the old man to be triggered by anything.”

“Ava, you’re too considerate of others. In such situations, you’ll be leaving yourself at a disadvantage. If were you, I would never agree to it!”

Even though Ava was also extremely reluctant, she had no choice. If she was a little firmer and refused to agree to this fake engagement, maybe Old Master Graham’s health would worsen.

After they got off work, Maisie continued to think about this. Although she was feeling mad for Ava, she also felt that something was not right.

When Tom saw Maisie sitting on the sofa with a pillow in her hands and her eyebrows furrowed together, he felt curious.

When Maisie heard Tom making fun of her, she came back to her senses. “Tom, I feel like there’s something fishy about this.”

Tom shifted his gaze to Maisie’s face. “What is it?”

“I think the guy who’s going to get engaged with Naya the day after tomorrow is Ava’s boyfriend,”

Maisie said with a solemn look on her face.

Tom stopped his action of picking up his coffee. “What did you say?”

Maisie told Tom what Ava had told her this afternoon. After hearing everything, Tom looked very calm.

“If you want to know whether you’re right, why don’t you ask Naya what’s the name of her fiance?”

“Right!” Maisie patted her thigh heavily and then picked up her phone to send Naya a message. She told Naya she wanted to see a photo of her fiance.
