Chapter 2111
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
It was a document, so Jeremy thought it was from his company or something, but after opening it, he found that it was not a document, nor was it anything of the sort.
There was an envelope inside. Jeremy looked at it suspiciously for a while before opening the envelope.
However, when he opened it, his eyes sank when he saw the contents inside.
There was nothing in it except for a photo of Madeline. In this photo, Madeline was standing downstairs in Whitman Corporation. She seemed to be waiting for someone with a slight smile on her face.
This was a very normal photo, but Jeremy felt uncomfortable looking at it.
It was because there was a big cross on Madelineâs face in the photo.
To avoid letting Madeline find out, Jeremy quickly put the photo away and pretended to walk aside to make a call as if nothing happened.
He called Ken, and after the call had connected, he told Ken the tracking number of the courier and asked Ken to check the source of it.
After Jeremy was done giving him the order, Jeremy hung up the phone and turned around, only to see Madeline standing behind him.
âLinnie?â He was taken aback, and he looked behind Madeline, slightly astonished. âWhereâs Mom?
Werenât you guys chatting just now?â
Madeline smiled. âMom and Jack went to play with Pudding. How about you? Is there anything wrong with that courier?â
ââ¦â Jeremy had not expected Madeline to be so direct, so he was slightly stunned. âLinnie, you⦠â
âEven though I was talking to mom just now, I spotted you. So, whatâs in that courier? Why do you need to walk away to make that call?â
Looking at Madeline, who was looking at him with a slight smile, Jeremy suddenly felt frustrated. What else could he hide from her?
Jeremy did not intend to hide anymore. As such. he handed the document to Madeline.
Compared to Jeremyâs concern, Madeline merely curled her lips indifferently after opening the envelope and seeing the photo inside.
When he saw Madelineâs indifferent demeanor, Jeremy was very worried. âLinnie, it looks like another wave of trouble is about to rise the moment the previous one dies down.â
Madeline smiled and put away the photo. âDonât let your parents see it, lest they worry. I think I know who did it, so donât worry too much.â
Jeremy was surprised. âLinnie, do you know who sent this?â
Madeline nodded slightly. âI can guess who it was. â
After she said that, Jeremy wanted to follow up curiously, but coincidentally, they heard Karenâs excited voice.
âEveline, Jeremy, come and see! Pudding knows how to run!â
Pudding knew how to run.
Jeremy and Madeline looked at each other, delight rushed into their hearts.
âCome, letâs go look at Pudding.â As Jeremy spoke, he lifted his arm to put it on Madelineâs shoulder and they walked to the living room together.
The moment Jeremy stopped walking, he saw the little kid, who just knew how to walk, running toward Madeline and him with steady steps.
Madeline quickly squatted and opened her arms toward the little kid. âPudding.â
âMommy, Mommy.â
Pudding suddenly called out to Madeline; his voice sounded so melodical and sweet to her ears.
Madeline smiled and held the little kid that ran into her arms tightly. She then lowered her head and pecked him on the head.
Jeremy witnessed all of this and his eyes were filled with deep fatherly love.
