Chapter 2107
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
Madeline and Jeremy followed Fabian to the door of Lillianâs room. Before they walked in, the couple heard Fabianâs gentle and coaxing voice coming from the room.
âWhatâs wrong, Lily? You canât sleep?â
Fabian asked very gently, and Madeline and Jeremy saw their baby princess nodding slightly.
Fabian was very patient, and he took a storybook from the shelf on the side. âWell then, Lily, be a good girl and close your eyes. I will tell you a story.â
Lillian liked Fabianâs suggestion.
The little girl obediently nodded her head and closed her eyes.
Fabian then sat down on the side of the bed and softly read from the storybook and patientlyâ¦
As they watched this scene, Madeline and Jeremy felt warmth in their hearts.
They did not continue to peek, and the two turned back to the guest room.
After returning to the bedroom, Madeline lay down on the bed tiredly. She had been exhausted for the past few days, but now, she was finally relieved.
The entanglement with Carter could finally come to a n end. The person she was worried about the most at the present was Lillian.
This child was still a baby, yet she had already experienced and endured too much pain and torture for her age.
Jeremy, who had already sensed Madelineâs emotions, approached Madeline, lay down, and stretched out his broad arms to hold Madeline.
Inhaling the scent coming from Jeremyâs body, Madeline closed her eyes with peace of mind, indulging in the steadfast warmth.
âLinnie, our little princess will definitely grow up healthily. Donât worry too much. Blessed are the good men.â
Toward the end, Jeremy did not know why he would say such comforting words.
However, in his heart, he believed that his little princess would turn her misfortune into a blessing.
Of course, Madeline prayed for the same. She nestled in Jeremyâs arms and nodded gently in agreement.
âLily has overcome many difficulties, so I am sure she will this time too.â
âSleep well, then. I know you havenât been sleeping well for the past few days because you were worried about me.â
âYouâre so stupid, Jeremy.â Madeline opened her slightly misty eyes and stared at the man with a gentle expression on his face. âYou were so stupid that you voluntarily jumped into Carterâs little trap. You knew that there was a high probability that he was deceiving and lying to you, yet you still went there without hesitation.â
Jeremy pulled the corners of his lips into a smile. âAs long as it is for you and the children, Iâll be willing to try anything for you no matter what it is.â
Madeline felt a sweetness in her heart, but she did not want Jeremy to do this again in the future.
âJeremy.â Madeline embraced Jeremy with yearning. She closed her eyes and leaned on him while feeling a t ease. âDonât take any more risks. Promise me.â
Knowing that Madeline was worried about him, Jeremy promised without hesitation, âI promise. â
After getting this answer, Madeline was obviously relieved.
A while later, she fell asleep peacefully in Jeremyâs arms.
Jeremy looked at Madeline tenderly for a long time before he bowed his head and kissed her between her brows. He then carefully withdrew his hand and let Madeline lie down comfortably.
Jeremy then got up and walked toward the door. At the same time, Fabian came out of Lillianâs room.
After seeing Jeremy, Fabian walked toward him very calmly and magnanimously.
