Chapter 2104
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
Madeline said and threw the chair into the water. Jeremy stood up strenuously and brought the chair to the edge of the pool near Madeline and stepped on it.
Madeline reached out and grabbed Jeremyâs hand tightly.
âJeremy! â
âLinnie, my legs are a bit weak. Why donât you go out and call someone first?â
âI âd like to go out and call for someone, but there isnât anyone around. Iâm afraid that if I went too far, something bad would happen to you. I canât leave here. I canât let you disappear from my sight! â
Madeline emphasized, holding Jeremyâs hand harder. âJeremy, I âll pull you up, Iâll definitely be able to!â
âLinnie.â
Looking at Madeline trying so hard and so determined, Jeremy was also determined not to let himself fall at this critical moment.
However, his legs were too weak and numb. Worried that he would pull Madeline down if he exerted too much force, Jeremy decided to let go.
Madeline could see what Jeremy was trying to do, so she abruptly knelt down and stretched out her hands to grasp Jeremyâs wrist tightly.
âJeremy, youâre not allowed to let go, do you hear me? Iâll definitely pull you up! â Madeline gritted her pearly whites, her unwavering scarlet eyes looked at the water that was almost above Jeremyâs shoulders. She felt as if her heart was being burnt; she felt so anxious and tormented.
Over time, Madeline, too, gradually felt powerless. She felt like she could no longer pull Jeremy up.
It was at that instant the iron door of the basement was suddenly pushed open.
Madeline did not have time to see who was coming before that person quickly came to her side and squatted to help her pull Jeremy up.
This person was Fabian.
Presently, Fabian slowly walked in from the dining room. As he listened to Madeline recalling the urgency at that moment, he felt quite proud.
âWhen I called you, I couldnât get through to you. Yet, when you called me, you said you were in the Stygian Johnson Gangâs house. So, I inferred that you couldnât contact me because you were somewhere with a poor signal.
âUsually places with poor signals are basements, so I tried to find if there were basements in the Stygian Johnson Gangâs house. I didnât expect there to be one.â
Fabian recalled the scene.
After listening to Fabianâs explanation, Jeremy smiled faintly. âYouâre pretty smart too.â
âOf course, Iâm smart. Otherwise, how can I live in such a big house now?â
Fabianâs eyes showed confidence that Jeremy and Madeline had never seen before.
âAll I have now has nothing to do with the Stygian Johnson Gang. I also believe that Iâll be able to do better in the future.â
âIn that case, Lily wonât suffer any hardships if she stays with you, right?â
Jeremyâs sudden sentence froze Fabian. Madeline was also stunned at one side. What did Jeremy mean?
âJeremy, what do you mean? Are you willing to let Lily stay here with me?â Fabian asked immediately after he came back to his senses.
Jeremy smiled profoundly and said, âIâll respect Lilyâs wishes.â
He looked into Madelineâs beautiful eyes when he said that.
âWhat do you think, Linnie?â âUm, yeah.â Madeline nodded and smiled after she was stuck in a daze.
âIâll respect her wishes too. If sheâs willing to remain here, as her parents, we wonât object to that.â
