Chapter 2004
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
He gently held Madelineâs hand; his deep and alluring eyes were guilt-ridden.
â If I had remained vigilant at that time, then this horrible thing wouldnât have happened, â Jeremy said guiltily. âWhen Hannah caused a scene the other day, her actions caused ripples that affected the shares of Whitman Corporation and Montgomery Enterprise.
âIf she continues to make trouble, Linnie, your projects and orders on hand will be terminated because of her.
âRight now, you have to suffer this grievance. Itâs the only way.â
Listening to Jeremy slowly apologizing to her, Madeline smiled magnanimously.
âI was the one who came up with this, so I donât feel wronged. We must prioritize this. Besides, I donât think Hannah can impact our relationship in any way. On the contrary, I donât think she deserves any sympathy.â
Madelineâs eyes revealed a rare icy but beautiful glint.
â She had feelings about you from the beginning. And sheâs not a good person, through and through.
She canât say anything about us fooling her like this now.â
Having said that, Madeline sighed a little apologetically.
âOn the other hand, Mom misunderstands us. She ran to the house of the maternal side of my family in a fit of rage.â
Jeremy smiled when he heard that. âItâs been so long, yet she still doesnât understand our characters.
We finally made it to this day, so why would we break up our relationship to fulfill the wishes of a vicious person?â
âSheâll understand sooner or later.â Just as Madeline finished speaking, a notification sound came from her phone.
She glanced down, and her eyes narrowed. âHow interesting.â
âWhatâs wrong?â Jeremy asked, concerned.
Made line smiled and handed her phone to him. â Look.â
Jeremy also lowered his head. When he saw the image on the screen, he displayed an opposite expression with Madeline.
He frowned, evidently displeased.
Madeline noticed Jeremyâs displeasure and she smiled, unconcerned. âLetâs play along.â
Even though Jeremy was unhappy, he would still support Madeline as usual.
No matter what she decided, he would choose to side with her, no questions asked.
An hour later, Madeline and Jeremy returned to the office together.
When they stepped out of the elevator, Madeline spotted Hannah sitting on the sofa by the reception.
When Hannah saw Madeline coming back with Jeremy, she smiled and walked over to greet them unusually.
âMr. Whitman, are you done with your afternoon tea with her?â Hannah asked with a bright smile.
Jeremy peered at her indifferently. âWhy are you still here?â
Hannah smiled shyly. âIâve been waiting for you to come back.â
âWaiting for me?â Jeremyâs cold gaze landed on her expectant face. âWhat else do you want?â
âNothing. I just think itâs very boring staying in the villa. Since Iâm here, I want to use this opportunity to learn something.â
Hannah expressed her thoughts and then she peered at Madeline.
âI found out that the perfume you made is very special and that your laboratory is very beautiful, so I decided to learn perfume making with you.â
Hannah did not sound like she was negotiating or asking for a favor; she was demanding this and ordering Madeline instead.
Jeremyâs charming eyebrows furrowed. How would he agree to Hannahâs request? However, before he could say anything, Madeline suddenly agreed decisively.
âOkay, youâll learn fragrance making with me starting right now.â
