Chapter 1331
Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman
Old Master Whitman wondered why Karen would suddenly ask about this. He furrowed his gray eyebrows. âWhere did you learn about this?â
Infuriated, Karen told Old Master Whitman that she just came back from Jones Manor. âThe Jones family is unreasonable. Look at what Eveline has become. How dare they say we deserve it?!â
âWe deserve it? Did the Jones family say that?â Old Master Whitmanâs face darkened. He was visibly displeased.
Karen nodded. âHow could I joke about something like that? There were a lot of reporters outside and they all heard it.â
Old Master Whitmanâs brows furrowed when he heard that. Just as he was about to say something, Jeremyâs voice rang.
âIn that case, the media will break the story online soon.â
âJeremy.â Karen quickly got up and walked over to Jeremy, her eyes full of confusion. âYou know about this? What the hell is going on? Why do I have no idea that thereâs bad blood between the Whitman family and the Jones family? What do the Whitman family have to do with their old manâs death?â
Karen asked curiously, but she saw Madeline coming down the stairs just as she finished speaking.
âHey,â Madeline called out to Jeremy.
Jeremy looked back and quickly walked to Madelineâs side.
âDidnât you say you were going to sleep? Why are you up?â His tone was soft, and even his eyes were warm like the spring breeze.
Madeline stared intently into Jeremyâs deep eyes. âWhen will you take me to Jeremy? Youâre not fooling me, are you?â
âEveline,â Karen called out to Madeline and walked up to her. She pointed to Jeremy and replied assertively, âEveline, heâs Jeremy, the man you love the most throughout the years.â
Madeline sized up Jeremyâs stunning beauty and nodded. âHe does look like Jeremy.â
Karen was a little helpless when she heard the words and patiently stressed again. âNo, heâs Jeremy.â
Madeline did not seem to like what Karen was saying. She furrowed her eyebrows and grabbed Jeremyâs sleeve. âI donât want to stay here. Take me to Jeremy.â
âEveline, Jeremyâs right hereââ
âStop,â Jeremy interrupted Karen and gently took Madelineâs hand as he spoke softly, âAlright, Iâll take you to him right now.â
âOkay!â A smile then appeared on Madelineâs face.
She ignored Karen and Old Master Whitman. She was like an innocent child, letting Jeremy lead her out the door.
âHow did Ryan put Eveline in this situation? She doesnât recognize Jeremy when heâs right in front of her. I wonder what Ryan did to Eveline?â Karen was exasperated and worried.
She grumbled a little before walking back to Old Master Whitman. âDad, tell me what happened.â
Old Master Whitman did not want to go into details about what happened back then, but he did not want his family to make wild speculations, so he told her what happened in detailâ¦
April Hill.
Jeremy brought Madeline to the place where they fell in love at first sight.
Madeline looked around after getting out of the car. After looking around, she asked impatiently, âWhy did you bring me here? Whereâs Jeremy?â
âHeâll be here to take you home soon. Just wait,â said Jeremy as he quietly grabbed the wig and contact lens. âWait here for me while I go to the restroom.â
Madeline grabbed Jeremyâs hand as he turned to leave. There was a hint of worry in her big, clear eyes.
âAre you going to leave me alone for a long time like what Jeremy did?â
Jeremy felt a pang in his heart and felt something bitter running through it.
âYou donât want me to leave?â he asked, smiling.
Madelineâs hand stiffened as she held Jeremyâs palm. Her cheeks seemed to have been flushed by the warm sun. âYou can leave. I just want to see Jeremy.â
âWill you miss me if your Jeremy comes back and Iâm gone?â
