Darrien hangs around for a while until Megan chases him out telling him to go home and get. some rest and that he can come get her in the morning to take her home. Sheâs stayed over a few times now but heâs never seemed very comfortable with it. I messaged to ask him once reminding him that my home is safe. He just responded that it might be safe, but it would be safer if I kept guards around. Heâs been doing better now that Megan isnât engaged or in a relationship, but the two of them have made no progress since. Understandably, Megan isnât interested in relationships right now and has declared it several times, so he has been mostly keeping to himself. Still, her nightmares have been less frequent and sheâs even decided she is willing to watch rom coms again. Thatâs the plan for tonight actually. To watch her first romance movie since her failed wedding. I already have the TV set up and the movie waiting. Megan plops down onto the couch dramatically holding a glass of wine from the SINGLE bottle she brought along. The glasses are also new, she gifted them to me last week when she realised I didnât have any. This is the first time theyâve been used.

âMmh, yes. This is so much better out of the right glass. How are you meant to have a hot bath and a glass of wine when you have no glasses?â She says, contentedly. I roll my eyes.
âAre you forgetting I donât have a bathtub either. Only a shower.â I remind her. Megan scrunches up her face.
âHow do you even live? Youâll have to use ours sometime. Iâd say you should look for a place with a tub, but youâll move in eventually so thereâs no point changing things around right now.â She comments. I was midway through sipping the glass iof wine she left on the bench for me and I instantly choke on it.
âWhen exactly did I agree to this?â I ask. Megan shrugs.
âIt only makes sense right? Itâll happen eventually. Iâm surprised Bellamy hasnât already. asked you.â Iâm just recovering from inhaling my drink and I collapse onto the couch beside
her, careful with my glass.
âWell⦠technically he did offer once, but I donât think it was a particularly serious offer. Besides, it would just be weird. Weâre not⦠at that point just yet.â Megan laughs.
âWhy would it be weird, you stay over with me often enough as it is, and he stays here plenty

than I could ever imagine. I know she still has nightmares and that sheâs going to be dealing with this for a long time yet, but I know I wouldnât cope as well as she has been.
The rest of our evening is relaxing, we watch another movie, a straight up comedy this time, and we both curl up for bed. We actually sleep fairly early, but weâre both oddly tired so we figure we might as well. I sleep late in the morning and Megan is nowhere in sight. I send my good morning check in text to Bellamy then struggle my way out of bed. Megan greets me from my kitchen with some toast and a glass of orange juice.
âHere you go, eat up then go shower and get dressed. I picked out an outfit for you, itâs on your dresser.â I still feel like a zombie, so I sit and eat without question. Itâs not until Iâm finishing my second piece of toast that I realise what Megan told me.
âYou picked out my clothes? Are we going somewhere?â I ask, confused. She rolls her eyes at
âYou are so useless in the mornings. Did you forget? We made plans on Wednesday night. You, me and Bellamy are going for lunch in a bit, remember?â What? OH. I do remember. Although sheâs forgotten someone. Darrien is coming too. I suppose sheâs so used to him following her around she forgets sometimes.
âAnd Darrien is coming too.â I remind her. She tilts her head to the side.
âWell duh, heâs my guard. He always comes.â She says it like Iâm the one pointing out the obvious. Which I suppose I am. Iâm not sure she is seeing the point I was making, I guess thereâs still a bit of work to do for her to see him as a proper friend.
