His Rebel
Layla's POV
His words left me speechless like they always do.
After bearing more than a month of his avoidance, now he's in front of me and I can't help but feel glad.
I'm glad that he's looking at me again. I never thought someone not looking or talking to me would affect me this much. But only Sinn Phoenix has this effect on me.
And at this moment I realized, I can't get rid of these feelings cause they have plagued every inch of my being.
"Let's get out of here." He told me and walked while still firmly holding my hand in his. And I let him cause I'd sell my soul to be able to feel his touch and have him near me after tormenting myself by asking him to keep our boundaries.
We walked up the stairs and he let go of my hand before joining the rest at the entrance. I almost felt disappointed when I could no longer feel his warmth.
"Layla thank god you're fine I thought you would've died by now." Theo greeted me through his words and I rolled my eyes. "Look I'm fine and you guys got rid of Charlie."
Leo came forward and smiled, "Thank you for helping us Layla, we couldn't have done it without your help." He told me and I smiled back. "No worries, I got to pay back my ex." I tried to joke and noticed Sinn's muscles tensing.
Yuri put his hand around my shoulder and started making me walk with him the rest following behind, "Well, now you could rest Layla, no missions for you for now!" Yuri exclaimed and I almost jumped in happiness.
I honestly was drained by accompanying them on these missions and this one took a toll on me. I want a vacation.
I went to sit in the car with Mattheo and Luca while the rest of them stayed back to deal with the aftermath.
The whole way back Mattheo asked me about what I did to gain Seth's trust for him to show me Charlie's hideout and I told him, "I have my ways." I wasn't going to tell him what ways, I'm not that comfortable talking about it in front of Luca and Francis. And Theo might judge me and I don't want that.
We reached back at the Three Devils mansion and I went straight to my room. I'm going to take the longest nap of my life cause I've been up for more than 24hrs now.
After freshening up and changing into new clothes, I laid my face on the bed and dozed off.
_______________
I was staring at the moon from the window in my room.
When I finally woke up it was already midnight and I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't. Then the moon caught my attention and I've been staring at it since then.
The last few words Seth said before Sinn pierced his sword through his heart played in my head.
He said he didn't regret anything. Well, I knew someone like him wouldn't regret shit but still, I couldn't help but feel down. I genuinely liked him back then and I still remember the heartache I felt after I found out the truth about him approaching me.
It messed me up and since then I couldn't trust anyone completely. So then why do I trust Sinn?
A knock interrupted my thoughts and I looked up from bed in confusion. Who could it be at this hour?
I grew suspicious, it could be anyone. What if someone sneaked into the Three Devils' mansion? It's impossible but still.
I picked up my dagger from the bedside table and wrapped my fingers around it firmly. If it's some intruder, he'd get a taste of my dagger.
I slowly made my way toward the door and held the doorknob with my other hand. I took in a deep breath and opened it quickly aiming my dagger around their neck. But that person was quicker than me and they smoothly grabbed hold of my forearm firmly, stopping my dagger to go any near them.
"I love the warm welcome." Sinn's sarcastic voice made its way to my ears and I felt my heart jump in excitement.
His silver eyes stared at me and I gazed at him bewildered cause I was expecting anyone but him at the doorstep of my room.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him bluntly and he tilted his head, "Came to check up on you." He stated and I blinked my eyes at him.
"I didn't know we were on talking terms again." I retorted, his silver eyes looked at me and I noticed he still held my forearm with the dagger.
I cleared my throat and pointed at my hand, he looked where I pointed and released it. I retreated my arm beside me putting my dagger on my waistline.
He stared at me for a moment and then his eyes fell on the edge of my lips."Like I assumed, you didn't treat it." He said ignoring the question.
"It doesn't matter it's none of your business," I told him staring at him. He was rude to me that day well guess what, I know how to be rude too. Taste your own fucking medicine.
He sighed and took something from his pocket. I observed his actions in confusion when I saw a tube in his hand.
"What the fuck-"
"Sit." He ordered, his voice was demanding and I felt a tingling sensation between my thighs.
I looked at him bewildered and he rolled his eyes grabbing my shoulder and making me sit at the edge of the bed.
I was too stunned to speak so my body followed his orders. His long legs were on either side of me as he stood before me and held my chin making me look up. His eyes scanned my whole face while he tilted my face with the help of my chin to make sure there were no other wounds.
I noticed his jaw clenching as he started applying the cream at the edge of my lips. A shiver run down my spine when the cold cream made contact with my skin and I felt the coolness of his rings.
His gaze was set there the whole time and I couldn't help staring at him. He was as beautiful as before. The perfect set of jaw and kissable lips. His thick eyelashes framed his silver eyes. His black hair and a strand fell above his forehead. His silver earrings dangled because of the little movements he made.
He is beautiful but more than that he's nice enough to do this for me. If he keeps on being like this it'll be hard for me not to fall for him.
"It's this simple to keep quiet and follow orders," Sinn said and I looked away when he finally let go of my chin. He walked towards my side table and picked a napkin to wipe his finger and then discarded it in the bin.
"Now get up, I need to take you somewhere." He ordered making his way out of my room.
I blinked my eyes in confusion cause I think I'm hallucinating. "What? And why would you think I'll go with you?" I asked him crossing my arms and he stopped, turning in his steps.
He looked at me for a moment, "You don't have a choice, it's an order." He deadpanned and I looked at him in disbelief. He's insane.
"You can't order me around like this!" I exclaimed feeling overwhelmed and he scoffed, a small smirk playing on his lips, "Try me."
I stared at him in shock as he exited my room and I tried to collect myself and followed him.
The whole way we walked to the place he wants to take me to, I gritted my teeth containing my frustration. Nobody orders me around but him. He's an exception because it's my job to listen to him. Like he said, I got no choice.
We exited the mansion and walked to the backside of the mansion. It was about five-minute walk and after that, he stopped. I stood beside him and my eyes widened at the view in front of me.
The moon was much bigger and could be seen clearly. There were some trees and flowers surrounding us and it felt like this was some magical place out of a fantasy book.
I was rendered speechless once I saw it and whatever annoyance I felt from before faded when my eyes laid on the breathtaking view.
Sinn looked at my astonished self and said, "Back at the Astor mansion you used to stare at the moon for hours, I thought you might like this."
"Like this? I love this! I can't believe I never got to see this when it's just five minutes away from the mansion." I said feeling excited.
All the troubles and depressing thoughts I had from before vanished. "Thank you for bringing me here." I turned to him and genuinely thanked him. I was rude to him before but I'm not going to apologize for that cause it was payback.
He looked at me and crossed his arms, "Consider it your birthday gift."
I looked at him and before I could say something he added, "You were clear that you don't fancy birthdays but don't you think there should be a day dedicated to you?"
"I think every day should be dedicated to me." I joked and I saw a ghost of a smile on his lips.
"You know there's no tax on smiling?" I said and he looked at me with a stoic expression.
"I wasn't smiling." He argued and I smiled, "Yea you weren't." I shook my head and sighed taking in the view. It was calming.
