Layla's POV

I was almost ready to leave.

I looked at myself in the mirror one last time while taking a huge breath cause I know I'll need it.

It's 6:40 and I'm running late. I need to leave now.

I just wore something which would look like I'm actually out clubbing and not on some mission. It was a dark red laced top that ended just above my thighs and matched them with black high heels. I left my hair resting on my shoulders and not doing anything to them.

I applied some makeup and did smokey eyes cause it would suit and it looked nice. I look good.

After I was done checking myself, I walked down the stairs and to the entrance. Everyone else was waiting for me at the main gate.

Everyone but him.

I didn't let that affect me and walked toward them with a smile on my face.

"So, how do you think I look?" I stopped in front of Theo and asked him with a smirk and he just shook his head.

"I don't know what you're thinking calling him at the club, but it's you. You're unpredictable." He huffed still shaking his head and I rolled my eyes.

"God Mattheo you're boring, Yuri. What do you say?" I looked at him and he seemed to think for a moment.

"Well let's see. Good enough to make him fucking regret!" He chuckled and I joined him high fiving him Theo just looked at me like I'm a lost cause.

"See Theo, that's how you do it," I told him disapprovingly.

"Layla," Leo called me and I turned to him. "You know what to do if there's a problem." He told me and I gave him a thumbs up.

"Yeah I've got it all by heart don't worry, you'll get rid of this Charlie guy this time," I assured him confidently.

"One more thing before you leave," Leo said just as Sinn joined us. He had something in his hand and before my mind could ask any more questions Leo spoke again.

"Have this in case of an emergency, just press the button and it'll alert us to find you," Leo explained and motioned toward Sinn.

Sinn glanced at him and then looked at me for the first time and I saw his eyes scan my whole body before he met my eyes again.

He held it out to me and I took it from him without saying anything else as I examined the thing. It was little but very useful.

"So team leader, don't you have anything to say to you're only member who's leaving for a mission?" Leo pointed his eyes at Sinn who looked at him blankly.

"Man come on, I know you don't like talking much but it's only so much I can say," Leo complained and I saw Sinn give him an annoyed look.

"Yeah, it's rude. She's going to see her ex and help us. It'll be fucking bitter for her." Yuri added and I was about to interrupt him and act cool by saying it's nothing but Sinn beat me to it.

"Come back in one piece." His voice ordered me and just like that he showed his back to me and left us all.

"Well, that was very polite." Yuri was the first one to speak after he left us and I just sighed.

"I'll leave I'm getting late. "

"Make sure to follow what Sinn said and come back in one piece." Theo teased me and this time I was the one who shook my head.

I got in the car and took a huge breath as it drove off to the club.

When I entered the entrance, I felt my nerves all at once as soon as the music filled in my ears.

There's no going back now Layla.

I had already received a message from him when I took out my phone to text him. He texted he was already here and sitting at the place opposite the drink bar.

I closed my phone and located the bar. The club was packed cause it was a Saturday night and everyone was there enjoying themselves except for me.

And then opposite it I instantly found Seth sitting with a drink in his hand.

Let's start Layla.

With slow yet steady steps, I made my way toward him. He didn't seem to notice me coming his way at first cause he was busy enjoying himself watching a bunch of girls dancing.

"Already enjoying yourself?" I stopped when I approached him and put a hand on my hips as I arched my eyes at him.

He paused drinking and smirked before looking at me. "So you're here."

He checked me out while I sat in front of him and made myself comfortable by crossing my arms.

"You look sexy as always." He commented and I wanted to roll my eyes but I managed to smile.

He had a small smirk while his gaze held questions.

"From our last encounter, you sure made it clear you want to have nothing to do with me. So may I know what made you change your mind and bless me with your presence?"

I looked straight into his eyes, "You sure have a lot of questions seeing it was you who fooled me with my father." I felt the resentment but I tried to keep it at bay.

He sighed placing his drink down. "You blocked me before I could explain myself. And then you disappeared. I found Mattheo's number after a while but he told me you wanted nothing to do with me."

His eyes gleamed with curiosity when he looked at me, "I know what I did made you mad but didn't you love me you should've forgiven me?"

This guy is unbelievable. I knew it wouldn't be easy but it's hard to keep my temper under control.

"Are you fucking with me? And here I thought you would've realized you were wrong that's why I wanted to meet you and give you a second chance. But it doesn't seem you find anything wrong with what you did." I was about to stand up and leave but Seth caught my hand and made me stop.

"Wait! What did you say? You want to give me a second chance?" His eyebrows were furrowed and his eyes held confusion like he couldn't believe what I was saying.

I sat back down, "I can't believe this but all this time, I never really moved on. Even after you betrayed me." I feigned being hurt and it seemed to be working cause he was deep in thought.

"But what were you doing with The Three Devils? You pointed a fucking gun at me." He questioned me and I had already prepared to answer all his questions.

"What do you expect a person to do when someone attacks them out of nowhere? And I didn't know you would be there, you never told me you were in some kind of gang." Well, it was true. But I would surely kill him if my mother didn't make me promise her.

He seemed to understand that but then he opened his mouth again, "And what about you being with the Three Devils?"

He isn't that easy to fool seeing he has fooled me once already. I know it won't be easy to make him believe me.

"I used to work for them. You must know, they were looking for some members for their units so that they could go under missions."

He listened to me carefully without interrupting me.

"I thought I'd have some fun with that but then I met you again and I got to know they're after the gang you're in. I didn't want anything happening to you. So I left them."

I kind of mumbled the last bit to seem like I don't want him to know that I still care, which I in reality don't, so I said it in a way that would be audible yet make him believe me that I still care for his pathetic ass.

When I finished reasoning with him he seemed to think about it. "And what about them, they let you go that easily? From what I know it's not that easy to resign and you announced in front of everyone there that I'm your ex-boyfriend. After finding that out why would they let you resign?"

He is not that easy to fool but I came here prepared. "Who said I resigned, I ran away."

"What? If they catch you you're done for." He told me and I feigned disappointment. "Yeah I know, but I wanted to let you know that I'm still on your side."

I started getting up once again and Seth was still lost in his thoughts when he pulled me to sit beside him. "Why would you do that for me? Didn't I fool you with your father?" He asked me and this time there was genuine curiosity on his face.

I sighed as I met his eyes, "What do I do when my heart can't move on even when you broke it? Even after these 2 years I still can't let you go." I cringed internally because of the things I had to say in order to make him believe me that I'm still not over him. I never imagined I would have to say something like this after all he did.

I deserve an oscar for this acting cause it's agonizing.

He scanned my face trying to detect if I'm lying but I somehow managed to hide my disgust. I might be a great actor cause it didn't seem like he caught it.

"I don't know if you're telling the truth or if it's the Three Devils who send you here to reach my brother." He said and I'd say it's the only time he's been honest to me about what he's thinking.

I've almost caught you, Seth.

"I don't know what to do for you to believe me, it's on you if you want to believe me or not."

He still had his eyebrows furrowed while he tried to think it through. But he didn't let go of my hand this entire time so I won't try leaving again.

"You can do one thing." He met my gaze once again and I saw the sly smile on his face.

"If you haven't moved on and would risk your life at the hands of those three, I want you to prove it to me." He told me and I furrowed my eyebrows this time.

"Prove it to you how?" Cause I didn't have any idea how he wants me to prove it.

I saw a slight smirk on his face as he tilted his head, his fingers brushing past my forearm making my insides feel uncomfortable.

I'm already starting to regret coming here.

His eyes held a challenge in them, which made the resentment and hate for him in me grow even more.

"I want you to kiss me."
