His Rebel
Layla's POV
We walked towards the front gate, hand in hand as a middle-aged man with a middle-aged woman came into view.
"Welcome, Mr & Mrs Vinci, we're delighted to have you here." The middle-aged woman said with a smile and I recalled her name which Leo told us while he debriefed.
"Likewise Mrs Astor," I said forcing a smile. "Oh please call me Beth." She insisted and I nodded my head as the man beside her studied us. He was wearing a rich suit and had slight white hair and wrinkles on his face.
"Mr & Mrs Vinci, pleasure to finally make your acquaintance," he put forward his hand to shake Sinn's and he glanced at it as if he was examining it before he shook it. "Mr Astor, pleasure's all ours," Sinn said as he stared at him.
"Please come in," Mr Astor told us and we walked in after them. Sinn now had placed the hand which previously grasped mine by his side and I kind of missed the warmth it provided.
We walked in, however, side by side and I took in the Astor mansion. It was huge there was no denying it and don't get me started on how gorgeous it was. It had a huge fountain as soon as you enter which makes it hard to get your eyes off it.
The maids were all standing in a line on either side of us as they bowed their heads. "Make yourself at home." Mr Astor said and I gave him a small fake smile. It's fucking hard when you have to act like someone who's the total opposite of you.
"Rosie my dear, you're even more beautiful than what I've heard of you," Beth said and I gave her a tight smile cause I don't know how to react when someone compliments you.
"Thank you?" It came out more as a question than me thanking her which made her chuckle. "Oh dear you don't need to be so modest, stand up to the fact that you are beautiful." She continued and I continued giving her a forced smile.
"We would give you a tour but you must be tired so we'll leave that for later. It's pretty late so I'll suggest you rest for now." Mr Astor announced and we stopped by the stairway.
"One of the maids will show you your room, if you need anything feel free to ask anyone and they'll guide you. Once again, it's a pleasure to have you here at our house." Beth said as she pressed my shoulder warmly.
"We will, Beth," I said and she gave me her usual smile. They left us as it was now Sinn and me with two maids who showed us where our rooms would be at.
Ross Astor and his wife Beth Astor, their family had been a part of the mafia for several decades. But for the last several years they have been acting shady as they were keeping profit to themselves and being unloyal to the mafia while doing the business. And they went overboard when they stole the 50 million worth of gold statue.
Their family is a difficult one to deal with as they are one of the prestigious families involved with the mafia and one cannot easily get rid of, or even mess with them. This is why we had to infiltrate and get into their mansion which is, one of the hardest parts as they have tight security.
The mafia had both husband and wife under surveillance for many years, investigating their every move when they finally had an opening and now we're here as Victor and Rosie.
And it's not the first time the mafia tried to send someone to infiltrate, the previous ones were risky and the people who did them are missing since then. Only they know what happened to them.
All these things which Leo and Yuri debriefed us about ran through my head as we reached up the stairs and in the hallway where the maids made us pass through several doors before they stopped in front of the one at the end.
"Here is your room, if you need anything you can ask either of us and we'll be here to guide you anytime. I hope you'll be comfortable while you stay." The maids bowed as they left, leaving Sinn and me alone.
I sighed loudly as Sinn opened the door and went in. I closed my eyes, massaging my temples as I made my way in, Sinn locked the door after me. I felt the exhaustion now that we had crossed one of our biggest hurdles of getting inside the Astor mansion, I can at least chill out a bit.
But that wasn't going to happen, as I adjusted my eyes at the thing in front of me.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me," I turned my head and Sinn looked at me as I stared at him in horror. "There's only one fucking bed?!" I more like yelled and he turned his gaze at the king-size bed which came straight out of my nightmares.
"I didn't fucking sign up for this," I rambled as I paced the room and Sinn just stood there. I halted as an idea popped in my head, "I'll just tell one of their fucking maids to give me a different room, yeah I'll do that!"
I announced and made my way towards the door when a strong hand grabbed my arm pulling me away from the doorknob which I almost touched. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Sinn gritted, looking pissed and I arched an eyebrow.
"What do you think I just said? They said themselves if I need anything to just ask them, so I'm doing that." I replied and he closed his eyes like he was controlling his temper.
"Rebel, are you stupid or an idiot?" He questioned and I furrowed my eyes, "Aren't both of them the same thing?" I questioned him instead and he looked at me irritated.
"You'll go out there and tell them you don't want to share the room with your fiancé?" That's when the reality of our situation hit me again.
"Right, I was about to fuck up." He gave me one last stare as he let go of my arm.
"But I'll not share the bed with you," I told him and he turned around as he took off his waistcoat leaving only his black turtleneck.
"Fine with me, you can go sleep on the sofa." He deadpanned and I glanced at him in disbelief.
"I thought you'd at least be a bit considered and let me sleep on the bed and you on the sofa." I pointed my finger at him and he met my gaze with his silver eyes and I got flustered because of them once fucking again.
"If you think I'm some fucking gentleman, you're gravely mistaken, Rebel."
"Stop calling me that." I told him and he arched his brow, "Calling you what?" I stared into his eyes, this time not getting flustered and looking straight in them.
"Rebel, stop calling me that." I saw a smirk form on his face as he took small steps toward me, studying my reaction on his way.
He stopped just before me, towering over me as he looked down at me making me tilt my head up. His warm breath hitting my face because of our close proximity.
He lowered his head and his lips touched my earlobe, "Why, do you feel something when I call you that, Rebel?"
His deep voice continued and I could feel the frustration building inside me as the smirk remained on that flawless face of his. His breath hit my neck and I felt that weird feeling in between my legs.
Sinn fucking Phoenix's words are not turning me on! I shut my eyes as I mentally told myself that. He's not turning you on Layla, he's not turning you on-
His hand trailed down my bare arms leaving tingling sensation wherever his hand landed.
I fisted my palm trying to stop feeling as I was while clenching my thighs together to stop the throbbing in between them.
I don't know why I didn't stop him cause whatever effect his hands were doing to my body felt so good that I wasn't physically able to stop him, more like I didn't want him to stop.
He stopped the movement of his hand as he stared into my eyes and I stared back, "I feel annoyed, I have a fucking name." I replied and I noticed a slight smirk forming on his face.
He stepped away from me now, leaving a decent amount of distance between us but his eyes never left me as he kept on staring at me.
"You can sleep wherever you wish to and I will wherever I want to. I can't sleep on the sofa so I'll take the bed. The choice is yours, I don't mind you taking the other half of the bed it's big enough to have two people."
He had now shifted to his professional tone and I stared at him cause it's how he usually talks while training me. I took note of the things he said when I thought about one thing.
Why the fuck is sleeping next to him affecting me this much? It should not cause we're on a mission and it has no meaning.
We had to sleep next to each other if we were on a mission outside and had nowhere to sleep, wouldn't we? It's not a big deal.
And the way Sinn acted just now shouldn't affect me. It could give him the wrong impression.
I stood straight as I stared back at him. "Fine with me, it's just sharing. And I would never sacrifice my sleep when we have this huge ass bed which can fit the both of us."
Sinn studied me as he replied, "Right, you can go fresh up first. I have to report back to them."
He told me and took his phone out as he walked away to the corner by the window and I stared at his back which toned his broad shoulder.
Stop fucking checking him out for fucks sake Layla.
I shook my head as I made my way to the bathroom.
