chapter 16

CEO'S EX-WIFE ( Part 1)

Samira was stupefied. Although she had never met Michael Reed personally, every woman in the elite social circles knew of him. He was the most eligible bachelor in the city—wealthy, powerful, and dangerously charming. He was so high above in status that countless women would bend over backward just for the chance to catch his attention. But Angela was with him? How was that possible?Samira clenched her fists in vexation. The realization that Angela had moved on so effortlessly, and not just with any man but Michael Reed, sent waves of fury through her. Since her own brother, Jorge, had refused to back her up, she knew she had to turn elsewhere for support. She immediately pulled out her phone, her fingers trembling with anger as she dialed a number. The moment the call connected, she put on her most pitiful voice."David… Angela bullied me. You have to help me!"David Bardem was Samira Trumph’s lover, a man known for his deep connections and shady dealings.---At Reed TowerMeanwhile, at Reed Tower, Angela sat comfortably in Michael Reed’s private office. The air smelled of freshly brewed coffee, and she watched with mild amusement as Michael, a man who barely ever stepped into a kitchen, skillfully prepared a cup for her. He moved with precision, pouring the steaming liquid into a sleek, black ceramic mug before placing it in front of her.Just as she was about to take a sip, her phone buzzed. It was a call from Rohan Andrew, Michael Reed’s right-hand man."Ma’am, I got insider information that Ms. Trumph has hired someone to follow you," Rohan reported.Angela pursed her lips slightly and let out a soft chuckle. Her gaze flickered with a hint of amusement as she leaned back in her chair. Samira, you just never learn, do you?"Let her be," Angela said, twirling a strand of hair absentmindedly. "I’ll just go with the flow. It’ll save me some publicity fees, after all."Hanging up, Angela turned her attention back to Michael, who had been observing her with a curious frown."What is it?" he asked."Ms. Trumph hired someone to follow me," Angela replied nonchalantly, taking a sip of the coffee he had prepared.Michael’s expression darkened slightly, but he didn’t say much. These petty tricks from the Trumph family didn’t concern him in the slightest. Instead, he simply pushed the sugar jar closer to her."Careful, it’s hot," he reminded her.Angela smiled, savoring the rich aroma before taking another sip."Your coffee is the best, big brother. I swear, if you ever open a café, you’ll make it big."Michael chuckled, shaking his head."It’s only the best for you," he said lightly. "Not for everyone."Angela grinned before suddenly remembering something."Since I’m officially starting my job tomorrow, can I ask Easy to be my right hand for a few days? Just to help me settle in?"Michael didn’t even hesitate."Do whatever you want," he said. "Make your own arrangements."Angela’s eyes gleamed mischievously. Thinking about how Easy always looked at Michael with admiration, she excitedly typed out a message to her friend.[Okay, you’re officially starting work tomorrow!]Easy responded almost immediately.[Yes, Ma’am! ❤️]---That evening, Angela and Easy decided to celebrate. They headed to Tune Bar, a lively spot filled with music, laughter, and flashing lights. The atmosphere was electric, with a live singer performing on stage, the melody blending seamlessly with the chatter of the crowd.Easy, ecstatic about her new role at Reed Corporation, let loose, dancing and partying with infectious energy. Angela, equally thrilled, joined her, the two of them commanding attention as they moved to the beat. They were breathtaking—one with an elegant, refined beauty, and the other with a carefree, fiery charm. It was no surprise that all eyes in the bar were drawn to them. After a while, Angela leaned over and shouted, "Easy! I’m going to the bathroom. Wait for me here!"Easy, already a few drinks in, waved her off with a lazy smile.---Danger LurksA few feet away, a man had been watching them intently. His predatory eyes followed Angela and Easy’s every movement, a twisted smile playing on his lips. When Angela disappeared towards the bathroom, he saw his opportunity. Moving swiftly, he grabbed Easy’s hand.Easy, caught off guard, gasped."What the hell—let go of me!" she snapped, struggling to break free. Before things could escalate, Angela reappeared. She froze for a second, assessing the situation. The man was tall and muscular, his grip tight around Easy’s wrist. His smile was smug, his posture arrogant. When he saw Angela, his grin widened."Oh, you’re back so soon? Perfect timing," he sneered. "Dance with me. If you do, I’ll let your friend go. Otherwise… I take her with me."His tone was threatening, his intentions crystal clear.Angela looked at the man with sharp eyes and told calmly " leave her hand now and go from here."The man lit up a cigarette and laughed. He said Angela " come here and drink with me, dance with me, then I will let her go, I have told you immediately. "Looking at the man Angela didn't hesitate to go forward. Every people were telling Angela " Miss don't go over first. Call the police. This man is a notorious gangster. "The man again laughed and said " I can kill her if you try to call police. "Angela’s mind raced. She knew fear would only give him more power. She had to act smart. She smiled suddenly, tilting her head slightly."If I agree, you’ll let her go?" she asked sweetly."Of course," he smirked. "Come here, babe."He smiled telling this. His tone was threatening. Easy had already drinked too much. The man then hold Easy's neck and looked like he will immediately drag her away at anytime. Angela took a slow step forward, pretending to comply. The man’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction, convinced he had won.But just as he reached out to touch her—CRASH!Angela smashed a beer bottle over his head with full force."AHHH!" The gangster screamed, stumbling backward, blood trickling down his forehead. Before he could react, Angela kicked him square in the chest, sending him crashing to the ground. The entire bar fell into stunned silence.Angela then said-- " May be I am a woman but I don't fear to battle with any male. Don't think anymore, that female are weak than male, female fear male!"Next time you think about messing with me or my friend, remember this moment."The gangster groaned, trying to get up. Angela stepped on his chest, pinning him down effortlessly.Angela picked up a glass of wine from a nearby table and squatted next to him."You wanted to drink a glass of wine right??But you are so handsome that I put a full bottle beer over you, so that you become happy. Are you now enjoying?? Let me make you more happy. "Angela ordered to bring one more bottle of wine. The bar manager gave her a red wine bottle. The gangster begged for mercy. He never thought he would encounter such a difficult woman. Angela " you're now begging mercy?? When I said you to leave my friend, remember what you have done. I will help you to drink more wine so that you remember this day forever. "She turned the entire bottle over his head, drenching him in red wine. The crowd erupted in cheers. At that moment, the bar manager called the police, and within minutes, officers arrived to drag the gangster away.Angela turned to Easy, who was still dazed from the alcohol."Come on, let’s go," Angela said, supporting her friend as they left.---A Sinister PlotUnbeknownst to Angela, a few photographers had captured the entire scene. One of them excitedly dialed a number."Mr. David Bardem, I have something interesting for you. Should I post the video online, but only show the parts where Angela looks like the attacker?"David Bardem’s cold laughter echoed through the phone."Do it. Let’s see how that ungrateful woman deals with a scandal."A malicious smirk spread across his face."Angela, you have no idea what’s coming for you."Continue...Continue.....✍ Atrayee Sarkar
