S. H. I. E. L. D. pt 1

A/N- Yes. This is a marvel/Flash crossover in which Barry is an agent of shield. Why? Because I feel like it.

Barry POV

I was getting yelled at by my boss... again.

I had just gotten back from another one of my "wacky cases" that I wasn't supposed to go on. In reality, I was on a mission for Shield, but he certainly didn't need to know that.

Shield was working to track down a group of Hydra super soldiers, and it wasn't going too good. I was sent back to this job with orders to keep my eyes open and stay alert. The super soldiers had been targeting Shield's agents and killing them off one by one.

I wondered where I was on their kill list.

Probably closer to the top after the last mission.

***** FLASHBACK *****

"Allen do you copy?" Agent Coulson asked through the coms.

I put a hand to my ear, "I copy."

"Great," he said, "remember the plan. And be careful."

I smiled lightly, "Yes sir."

I nodded to my partner, Alex, and we ran through the trees silently, keeping our eyes and ears peeled for anything. It was surprisingly easy getting to the building, and that put me on edge. I fingered my gun lightly while Alex picked the lock on the fence.

"We're in." He whispered.

As we neared the building, there was a loud bang. My gun was out in an instant. But an instant was still too late.

Alex looked at me with wide eyes as he collapsed to the ground. There was a bullet hole in his chest.

"Go get 'em Bar," he choked out.

Rage filled me as I watched his eyes turn dull and lifeless.

I ducked behind a wall as another shot rang out.

I put a hand to my ear, "Alex is gone." I said, trying hard to keep my voice even. "There's a sniper on one of the buildings to my right."

He heard Coulson curse, then he said, "proceed with the mission. Meet Ava and Jordan inside."

"Copy."

I threw a smoke bomb and ducked inside, a bullet nearly hitting me. Footsteps clattered towards me and I raised my gun.

"Hold your fire. It's us."

Barry let out a small sigh of relief.

"We found them on the second floor," Ava said, "no guards or anything."

"Probably because they don't need them." Jordan growled.

Barry put a hand on his shoulder, "We will stop them."

Jordan nodded and we all split up. I went left, Ava and Jordan went right.

All was calm until someone grabbed me from behind. I elbowed him in the face and we fought until I clocked him on the head, knocking him out. I heard gunshots down the way and ran towards it.

That's where Ava and Jordan were.

I burst into a room and froze for half a second before leaping into action.

Ava was fighting a soldier, but she was wounded. Jordan was on the ground unconscious or dead, I couldn't tell.

There were six super soldiers, including the one I knocked out in the hall. I fired a few bullets at the soldier that Ava was fighting.

"Get out of here!" I yelled. "Get J and go! I'll be right behind you!"

Thankfully, she listened and I covered her as she dragged Jordan to safety.

I thought about Ava's wounded side, Jordan's limp form, and Alex's dead eyes. Oh they were gonna pay. I fired my gun and charged at the group of very buff evil people.

I managed to wound one.

And kill two.

I really didn't want to be at work. I wanted to be out hunting the rest of the Hydra super soldiers. They had been causing problems for way too long. Many of the cases here at the CCPD I solve are linked to Hydra.

Again, not that anyone here other than me knows that.

I sighed and sat down at my desk. I opened my wallet and looked at the picture of me and my team.

Alex's happy face made my heart ache.

He was gone. Jordan was in a coma. At least Ava was okay. Her leg would heal up nicely.

I closed my wallet, grabbed my case files, and made my way downstairs. The captain was by the receptionist, and I made my way over to him.

"Here you go sir," I said with a sigh.

He looked at me kind of funny as he took the papers. He opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted.

"Barry!"

My eyes widened and I whipped around.

It was Ava.

I ran over to her. "Ava, what the hell are you doing here? You're not fully healed yet."

Ava shook her head. "I had to warn you," she gasped, "they're coming. They stormed our facility looking for you."

My eyebrows shot up, "is everyone okay?"

Ava swallowed hard. My heart dropped.

"They killed Jordan."

No.

I engulfed Ava in a hug. I felt her squeeze me back.

"I'll get them for this," I whispered.

"I know," Ava sighed, "and you'll have your chance real soon. They're on their way here. They found our files and I heard them say they were gonna kill you."

"Not before I kill them," I grumbled.

"Let me help you Barry," Ava pleaded, "there's three of them and one of you."

"Three?" I asked.

"We managed to take one out before they got to Jordan."

I nodded.

"Let me help Barry. So what my leg is a little hurt. I can still fire a gun."

Barry relented, "Follow me." He led Ava up the stairs to the balcony. "You stay up here. If you have a shot, take it. Otherwise stay down. I can't lose you too."

"What make you think I can lose you? We're all that's left."

Barry hugged her again.

"Don't worry," he assured, "I'm not that easy to kill."
