Appendicitis

Barry woke up that fateful morning feeling under the weather. He figured it probably had something to do with him waking up at 2:00am to puke his guts out, but he wasn't going to call in sick, particularly since Singh was already on his case and he may or may not have used up all of his sick days.
So Barry groaned and got out of bed, clutching his stomach. He made his way through his apartment, not bothering to eat anything since he was probably just going to throw it up. Then, he went and grabbed some toast anyway, because if he did puke again, he would rather have something in his stomach to puke up rather than bile.
Barry got to work 20 minutes late and, thankfully, was only given a brief scolding by Singh.
As he was working, Barry wondered if the room had always been so hot. His stomach really hurt and he clutched it, hoping to ease the pain. Suddenly, he shot up and raced to the bathroom where he promptly emptied the contents of his stomach.
Tears streamed down Barry's face. He already knew that vomiting sucked, but he didn't remember it hurting so damn much.
He eventually stopped puking and made his way back to his lab.
Barry decided that he was sick. Obviously. He was pretty certain he had a fever and, of course, he had been vomiting, and his stomach just hurt so much.
Suddenly, Barry cried out as he felt like knives were plunging into his stomach. He collapsed on the ground, clutching his stomach, tears running down his cheeks.
Barry wanted to get up and go home, but he couldn't move. It hurt. And it was so hot.
He heard footsteps coming towards the lab. He looked up as the Captain entered holding a file, but he quickly dropped it and rushed to Barry's side.

Singh watched Barry go up to his lab with concern.
Allen looked a little sick. Singh shook his head, Allen was a grown man, however much it seemed like the opposite sometimes, and he could take care of himself.
But...
Barry was stubborn. And if he was really sick, he probably wouldn't tell anyone.
Singh tapped his foot at a rapid pace, trying to make up his mind on weather or not to go check on his forensic assistant.
He decided he would check on him in fifteen minutes if he didn't come down.
'Allen's fine,' he told himself, 'there's nothing to worry about.' But the sinking feeling in his gut told him otherwise.
Fifteen minutes passed, and Singh grabbed a random file and made his way upstairs.
He really hoped he was overreacting. Everyone gets sick, Allen was no exception. He walked in and, to his horror, saw Barry curled up on the floor.
Singh dropped the file and ran to Barry's side.
"Allen!" He said. He put his hand on his forehead and cursed. "You're burning up."
Barry whimpered, "It hurts," he cried. And that honestly scared David. Barry didn't like to show weakness or pain around people. Ever. This was bad. This was very very bad.
And to make matters worse, Joe was out on a call. He quickly got up and ran to the bathroom where a soaked a towel in cold water.
Singh knelt back down next to Barry, placing the towel on his way too warm forehead, "Barry," he asked, "Where does it hurt?"
Barry just cried.
"Barry," Singh said, more forcefully.
"Stomach." Barry whimpered, then he pointed to an area in the lower right area of his stomach, "There the most."
Singh's eyes widened and he cursed. "Barry, I need to sit you up."
Barry nodded and braced himself. Singh sat him up, eliciting a small cry of pain as he leaned him into his chest.
"Okay," Singh said, "Tell me if this hurts."
He pressed on Barry's appendix and Barry let out a loud cry of pain, tears streaming down his face.
Singh let out a string of curses. He picked up the forensic assistant and made his way downstairs yelling orders.
"Morgan! Call an ambulance! Walsh! Get ahold of West!"
Singh looked down at Barry, "Hang in there Barry."
***** LINE BREAK *****
Singh watched as Joe paced in the hospital waiting room.
The nurse came out, "Barry Allen?" She said.
Singh and Joe raced up, anxiously waiting for news.
The nurse smiled, "He'll be okay. It's a good thing you got him in when you did though. Any longer and his appendix would have ruptured."
And both officers knew what that meant.
"You can go see him," the nurse said.
The men walked into the hospital room and Barry, loopy from all the pain meds, smiled and waved.
"Hey Bar," Joe said.
"Hi Joe joe joe joe." Barry said, making Joe's name echo.
Singh smiled, "How are you feeling?"
"Great!" Barry said, "A little tired though."
"Well why don't you get some sleep," Joe suggested, "I'll be here when you wake up."
Barry nodded and closed his eyes, falling asleep almost instantly.
Joe ran a hand over his face, "This kid is gonna be the death of me."
Singh smiled and patted Joe's shoulder.
"Yeah, you might want to drill it into him that he should tell people when he's feeling sick." Singh said.
"Trust me, I've been trying since he was 11." Joe said.
They sighed. Singh left and Joe sat down, rubbing his head. Joe was quite certain that Barry would indeed be the death of him.
"Geze Bar," Joe said, "You had better not do anything like this again."
