Kara Danvers
What Happens at the CCPD
Before "Invasion!" crossover.

Barry's day was going fairly OK. It started a little rough, but it was getting better. After a meta attack downtown made him 2 hours late for work, he was speeding through cases to try and get them all done.
He finished a few and headed down to give them to the Captain.
He was stopped by Joe along the way.
"How you doing Bar?" he asked.
"Hm? Oh, I'm good. Why?" Barry asked. He knew why though. Ever since Zoom broke his back, Joe had been extra cautious with him. Joe was one of the only people who wasn't mad at him about Flashpoint too. Now that Zoom was defeated though, Barry wished he would lighten up the constant pestering about his well being.
Joe was about to answer, but Singh walked up, cutting him off.
"Allen, do you have any of those case files done?" Singh asked.
"Yes sir. I have them right here." Barry said, handing them to him.
"Here's another case, and if you don't mind, make this towards the top of your agenda. I would like it by the end of the day." Singh said.
Barry nodded, "Of course. I'll-"
He was cut off by his name being called by someone he was not expecting to hear for a long time.
"Barry!"
A grin lit up his face and turned to see his friend from Earth 38. Kara Danvers. AKA, Supergirl.
Kara ran up to him as fast as she could, without using super speed, and crushed him in a hug. Quite literally.
"Kara. Ribs. Air." Barry gasped.
"Oh sorry." Kara said, loosening her grip.
"It's alright." Barry said hugging her back. "What are you doing here? Not that I'm complaining. It's great to see you again, but what are you doing on Ear- er, in Central City?"
"I wanted to visit my friend," Kara said, "and Cat gave me a few days off, so I chose to come visit. Originally I went to STAR labs to find you, but Cisco said you were at work, so I came here. He seemed really mad at you. Is he normally like that? I wouldn't know, since I never met him, but from what you told me that wasn't what I was expecting... I'm rambling."
Barry smiled.
"I picked that up from you." Kara accused, pointing a finger at him, "I hardly ever rambled before, but then you came along and messed that up." She teased.
Singh noticed Barry wince when she said he messed that up. He wondered why.
Joe finally spoke up, "Who are you?" he asked. Not rudely, just curiously.
"Oh! I'm Kara Danvers." Kara said.
"And, where did you and Barry meet?" Joe continued to pry.
She glanced at Barry, a glance that did not go unnoticed by Singh, and answered, "When I was visiting an old friend here in Central, I met Barry. I live in National City, and I work as a reporter."
Barry nodded and suddenly remembered that he still had work.
"Kara, uh, I still have some work I need to do. Do you want to meet up for lunch in a little?" Barry asked.
"Sure." she said and Barry walked away.
She turned to Joe, "Detective West?" she asked, "Can I talk to you for a minute."
He nodded and they walked into the hallway.
"You're Barry's foster dad." She said. Joe nodded.
"Yes. Where did you really meet Barry?" he asked.
"In National City. On my Earth." Kara said.
"What Earth is that? Earth 2?" Joe asked.
"No, Earth 38."
"When did Barry go to Earth 38?"
"That's a long story." Kara said. "Anyway, I noticed Barry flinched when I said he messed something up. Why's that? Did something happen?"
Joe sighed, "Barry... he lost his father, his real one, to an evil speedster."
"Zoom?" Kara asked. Joe nodded. "Barry mentioned him. He killed his dad?"
"Yeah." Joe said sadly. "He didn't take it well. He had just come to terms with his mom's death, and then he had his dad taken away in the same place just to prove a god damn point."
"Oh Rao." Kara muttered. "You said he didn't take it well. What did he do?"
"He ran back in time and saved his mother. Stopped all of this from ever happening. He lived in an alternate timeline for about a month. A timeline where both his parents were alive." Joe sent his hand across his face. "Eventually, he started loosing his memories of this life. So he chose to reset the timeline."
"How?"
"He had to... he had to beg the Reverse Flash to kill his mom." Joe said.
Kara's eyes widened.
"He did what any grief stricken person with his abilities would have done, but he also did what anyone else would not have done. He tried to fix his mistake. He came back but things weren't the same. Caitlin has powers that are slowly turning her evil and Cisco's brother died. And Cisco blames Barry."
"So that's why Cisco was so angry." Kara reasoned.
"Man, Barry's been through way too much." Joe said. Kara nodded. "Between Reverse Flash, Zoom killing his dad and breaking his back..."
"Wait what?" Kara asked.
"Zoom broke Barry's back a while ago. Before his dad died."
"Is he alright?!"
"He is now. Physically at least." Joe said.
Kara sighed and shook her head.
Barry came down and gave Singh the file he wanted, "Here you go."
"You work fast, Allen." Singh said, taking the file. Barry smiled.
"Barry!" He heard Kara yell. Only, this time, she was angry.
Singh watched as Kara came up and punched Barry in the arm.
"Ow." Barry said.
"You heal fast." she said. Then she grabbed him and whispered something in Barry's ear that Singh didn't catch, but he assumed that she was mad about him doing something considering the way he ducked his head down.
"But I'm fine now." Barry said in response to her harsh whispering.
She slapped the arm she punched, eliciting another ow from Barry.
"You idiot." She said, then crushed him in a hug.
"You're like a mix between both Oliver and Felicity," Barry mumbled.
Singh turned to Joe and pointed at them, shrugging and shaking his head.
Joe smiled and shrugged.
"Come on Bar. Let's go get some lunch. Rao knows you need it." Kara said, slinging an arm around Barry's shoulders leading him out of the precinct.
