Chapter 22

NCK POV

I woke up with a smile on my face remembering how I reunited with my family.

How I met my little nephew Kev who is the most adorable child , I may be biased but he is just too cute for his own good.

The hug from Dad and Papa was like a medicine to my sickness.

The scolding of Finn was like music to my ears.

The smile of Simon was like the light to my dark life.

And Kev was the cherry on top.

I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I was happy but whenever I was happy , my happiness goes as fast as it comes.

I was scared.

I am scared.

But I wont let my happy smile go.

I throw my arm on Simon who was next to me sleeping.

I smile and try pulling him closer.

But his body is so hard.

I slowly open my eyes only to find my self back in dark seaside with a rock under my arm.

I was wide awake by then I moved away like the rock was on Lava.

What the actual fuck...?

I turned around I don't know where am I.

What just happened?

Was all that just a happy dream? That it turned into a sad reality?

Meeting Luke? Video calling Ian and Dan? Going back home? Seeing Simon? Being with my Family? Was that all just a beautiful dream?

I fell on knees and cried so loud.

I turn left and right its to dark to make it out of here.

All I could see was sea and sands but in dark.

I tried taking a deep breath and calm myself out but its too difficult when you feel you are about to get a panic attack in middle of no where and there is no one who will help you if by any chance something happens to you.

I felt lonely so lonely that I couldn't live like this.

I am so tired so I started walking and I walked till end but that was dead end.

Nothing was seen other than the sea.

Life can't be more unfair right?

Why am I here? Actually where the hell am I?

I have never felt so scared before in my life.

All I heard was the sea sound.

And then it was all silent , pin drop silent.

I looked up the sky was actually red and in less than 30 seconds it was raining but instead of rain it was red like blood a real blood.

I screamed.....

"Baby wake up its just a nightmare." I opened my eyes and saw Simon's concern face.

I hugged him.

It was a nightmare It was a nightmare It was a nightmare. I chanted making myself believe that it was just a nightmare.

That I am actually with my loved ones. I am really back home.

"Sshhh its ok." Simon said while pulling back and he wiped my tears and sweat on my forehead.

"Wanna talk about it?" I shook my head.

"What's the time?" I whispered.

"5Am." He answered after checking his phone.

"How about I fill the bathtub so you get your self relaxed?"

"No don't leave me."

"Ok come let's go together."

I held his hand so tight yet he did not complain. He filled the bathtub with warm water. After a while we both got in because I haven't left his hand yet.

Where I always was the big spoon hugging him from back , today the roles were reversed. He held me tight.

After he felt me relaxing in his arms he let go and washed my hair and after a while we left the tub and he dried us and we changed into PJs.

"Sleep babe I am here with you." He pecked my forehead and I closed my eyes with him holding me.

The next few days the nightmares were different but less scary. And slowly I was used to , to the feeling of actually being home.

The guys thought it would be nice to have a little trip on the weekend so we agreed to go to our lake house.

The weekdays went with us planning and when finally the weekend arrived we were ready to go.

"Please Papa." I heard Kev's crying voice.

"Baby stay with Nona and Nana we will be back before you know it."

"NOO." He started sobbing.

"Kev if you stayed then once we are back we will take you to the zoo." Justin tried but the result was same.

"NOO." He yelled and cried.

"Hey lil buddy how about when we are back just you and I will go somewhere with no one else." I whispered he pouted. I looked at his parents.

"Can't we give in? His too cute to say no to." Justin rolled his eyes.

"That lil devil is innocent out and naughty from in. If we take him with us he will not listen to anyone and run to the lake. The first and last time we took him he almost drowned so its a no."

"How about you , Nana and I go movies?" Kev looked at Papa and thought about the idea.

"Movie and popcorn and Ice cream?" Dad chucked.

"Sure boy."

"Yay."

Finally he agreed to stay with Papa and Dad.

In next 10 minutes the guys arrived and we decided to take Uncle Aiden's car which can fit 7 people so Justin drives while his husband is next to him in the passenger seat. Simon and I sat behind them were its for two people and back seat is for 3 people were the other three sat.

The drive was fun Luke singing like a maniac and rest of them were dancing and it was one fun trip.

Before reaching the lake we stopped a few times to go to the loo or to eat and also to change the driver.

To distract my self from my thoughts I suggested to take the car from here on. All were sleeping except for Dan so he sat in passenger seat with me to accompany me.

"You ok?" I looked at him and smile.

"Of course." I looked back at the road.

"Been a long time since it was just the two of us talking."

"Ya man don't remember when was the last time."

"Nick."

"Yea."

"You can talk to me you know." I nodded my head.

"I know."

"So tell me are you ok?"

Am I ok?

"I don't know Danny. Ever since I came back I have been having scary dreams more like nightmares and its distracting me from my life. One minute I feel everything is fine and I am happy but the other minute I get a nightmare and I'm shaken up."

"Do you think you need to go for therapy ?"

"I don't need one."

"Just as a suggestion I think you and Simon should go for couples therapy also."

Do I need to? But We are fine so I don't need therapy.

"Hey don't over think it ok , lets just enjoy our weekend and the worries will keep it for some other day." He patted my head.

We finally arrived I gave the keys to Dan he went to open the gate and after parking he opened the main door while I woke everyone up.

"Hey baby wake up." I whispered and moved Simon's hairs from his forehead he was stirring.

"We reached?" His voice was grasped.

"Ya baby now lets get in then sleep again ok?" He just hummed and we walked in while Justin was struggling to wake Finn and Luke carried Ian in.

I went to my room with Simon and Finn to his with Justin and we gave the master room to Dan , Luke and Ian. Well after Dad lectured them about not messing his room. (IF YOU KNOW , YOU KNOW)

It was already 3 Am so everyone continued their sleep and I was the only awake. I walked out and sat at the sand.

"Why are you awake?"

"Why did you wake up?"

"I was thirsty so I went to drink water and saw you coming out."

"Can't sleep."

"Can't sleep or scared to sleep?"

"How do you know?"

"We are twins after all." I looked at Finn. He sat next to me.

After minutes of silence Finn broke the silence again.

"Nick?"

"Ya?"

"Am I the worst twin ever?"

"Who told you that?"

"Just answer me."

"Want the truth or the solid truth?"

"What's a solid truth? And yes I want solid truth?"

"Then you ain't the worst twin but you weren't the best one either."

"Ouch." He playfully punched me on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry Nick , I am sorry that I wasn't there for you , I am sorry that I did not trust you when I should've been the one who trusted you not Luke."

I just stayed quiet.

"Nick?"

"Hmm?"

"When did we lose each other?"

"We didn't."

"We did and I mean we ain't close how we were. When did it happen?"

"After high school when Justin and You became official. You changed , you never gave me time yes you came to me for advice and complains but never came to me to talk to me or to listen to me when I needed you."

"Why didn't you say anything?"

"Say what Finn? Say what? That don't give your time to your boyfriend who you have been crushing on since you were 9? Or be with me instead of the boy who made you happy and mad at the same time."

"I don't know just anything."

"Nothing would've worked. I said something when we were mature enough and you called me a third wheeler and helpless so imagine if I said something when we were younger I wouldn't even have a bit of what we had."

"You know why I hated Luke and Simon when I first met them?"

"Why?" We both were seeing deep in the ocean , the stars were bright.

"Because I saw the brightness in your eyes when you were close to them especially Luke. You had the same brightness that you had with me when we did anything to irritate Dad and Papa or get ideas for the family trip or whatever may it be that brightness I saw when you were with me so while seeing it light for someone else I was jealous but I never realize I was the reason you stopped being close to me anymore." I looked at Finn and saw a single tear leave his unshed eyes.

"You were young and in love I don't blame you when you didn't give me time." He sniffed.

"I should've given you more time."

"They say bros before hoes and sister before mister so I think bros before mister couldn't work." I joked and grinned. He laughed.

"Yikes thats bad one. But I should've make it work."

"Let bygones be bygones." He nodded his head.

"Can I atleast try to rectify my mistakes?"

"I guess."

"I will." He fall on me hugging me tight.

After a while we walked in it was nearly 5am and we said goodnight and went in our rooms I changed and got on bed Simon was sleeping I kissed his head and held him and slept.

I felt something good but didn't know what.

After that we just continue our day by having breakfast and being bullied by these assholes but I love them so its fine.

The next two days were the best we had a lot of fun.

We stayed in the lake till 5 am and the weekend went so fast and we were returning back already.

It was sad but we promised to at least come here more for weekends and relaxing.

The trip was fun and good just like old times when we were little Justin , Finn , Dan and I always did pranks on our parents and we always stayed late night out and played a lot in the lake while Ian and Adam were a little younger so they always were at side playing with sand building castles while the rest of us were playing in the water. They were good days but now it was more memorable with Luke and Simon.

We reached home late so the guys decided to sleep over.
