Chapter 713
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 713
Melante had a good sleep. She was worried about catching a cold, so she made sure to take a hot water bath last night.
When she left the hotel room the next day, she called Yvonne and told her about Hughâs injury.
Yvonne did not say much and only complained about Hugh being an idiot.
Melanie recalled Hugh was a postgraduate student at Jepton University. If he was an idiot, what about everyone else?
However, she did not retort to Yvonneâs words. Instead, she said, âHe might not be able to move freely at the moment. Heâll return to Jepton after he recovers.â
Yvonne did not care about that. âI donât care when heâll be back. I want to know
when youâll be back.
âXander said Viola has been asked to return to Jepton. You should be coming back soon, right?â
Melanie said, âI havenât been informed yet.â
âNo matter what, Viola is getting what she deserves. Sheâll pay for what she has done. How could anyone be vicious enough to instigate others into removing a patientâs oxygen maskâ¦â
Yvonne muttered, and Melanie listened as she walked.
Today was the last day of the conference. A closing ceremony would be held.
She had been in Oskon City for quite some time. The conference and the Redwaves â tender took quite some time to handle.
Melanie encountered Yvette and Nicole.
Nicole looked like she came to drop Yvette off. When she saw Melanie, she nodded with a smile.
Nicole was thinner than the last time Melanie met her. Her clothes looked baggy on her.
âGood morning. Today is the last day. Why am I already starting to miss this place?â Yvette greeted her, and Melanie retracted her gaze from Nicole.
She asked Yvette, âWhy is your friend so thin?â
âNicole? I know, right? I told her about it, but she said itâs just my imagination.â. Yvette muttered as she held Melanieâs arm.
Then, she sighed. âMaybe because sheâs so obsessed with her love life. Even if Iâm her best friend, I canât do anything about it.â
Yvette disliked talking about Matthew. She skipped the topic when it was about
him.
It was the last day, and everyone was excited. Even the special guests and. investors were here.
Eugene arrived a little later than Melanie. Just like the first day, he entered with a group of people.
He wore a red tie, looking a little more casual than usual.
Yvette sighed and whispered, âEugene might be a fool, but heâs handsome.â
Melanie was taken aback and looked at him. A wineâred necktie would make any other man look oldâfashioned, but it looked good on Eugene.
Yvette was right. Eugene did have good looks.
Viola did not show up at the conference. The rumors of her being called by the police spread.
Even Fuller knew about it and came asking.
No one knew who spread the rumors. They only knew Viola and Melanie were once colleagues in LeapCo.
They dared not ask Eugene and came looking for Melanie instead.
Melanie brushed all of them off. It would be worse if they knew about the other relationship she and Viola shared.
Moreover, these people were outsiders.
At the same time, Viola was standing outside a company. It was Matthewâs company, and she had only been here once.
She needed Matthewâs helpâ¦
