Chapter 712
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 712
Hugh was not kidding. His wound needed stitches, and his ankle was sprained. He was indeed feeling uncomfortable.
Moreover, sitting in a luxury car felt goodâ¦
Naturally, he did this mostly to annoy Eugene, as per Yvonneâs instructions.
No one said anything. Only Hugh looked calm as if he was requesting something
normal.
Lee noticed Eugeneâs cold expression from the side and cleared his throat. âWeâre returning to the hotel anyway. I believe Mr. Scott wouldnât mind.â
Melanie knew she could not say anything, and it wasnât easy to hail a taxi in the rain, especially during peak hours.
She took the bag from Hugh and looked at Eugene and Lee. âI think we might have to trouble you again.â
Eugene stared at Melanie for a while before asking, âArenât you going to get a medical checkâup?â
Hughâs sudden push had startled Melanie, and it was raining at the time. She should check on her baby.
The rain was still pouring when they returned, and Melanie was sitting in the front passenger seat. She looked at the foggy road in a daze.
Nothing was on her mind. She was just looking.
Hughâs leg was injured, and Lee enthusiastically helped him back to his room. Eugene followed.
After sending Hugh back, Melanie turned around and noticed Eugene was at her door waiting for her.
She pondered before approaching. âHugh wounded his leg today and might have stained your car with blood. Iâll pay for the car wash.â
Eugene looked at her. âDo you have to draw the line between us like this?â
Melanie said, âItâs only appropriate for us to pay.â
Eugene scoffed and looked at Melanie with sarcasm oozing from his face. The emotion behind his tone was undetectable. âWhatâs so good about Hugh that heâs got you mesmerized?â
Chapter 712
Melanie looked at him calmly, thinking it was a redundant question.
She said, âIâll talk to Lee about the car wash. Also, Iâm sorry for troubling him.â
Eugene lifted his eyebrow. âTroubling him?â
Melanie was calm, as if she had not noticed the dip in Eugeneâs mood. âHeâs been helping Hugh.â
âDo you know who Candyâs uncle is?â Wanting to skip the topic, Eugene calmly. asked Melanie.
âWho?â
âJacob, the president of Quarte Group. Heâs also Jacksonâs brother,â Eugene said calmly. âIf Iâm not mistaken, Candy should be Jacksonâs daughter.â
Melanie did not see that coming.
Startled, she exclaimed, âWhat a coincidence!â
Before meeting Jackson, Melanie had already bumped into his daughter.
Eugene said, âI wonder if youâre lucky or unlucky.
âJackson and his exâwife are divorced, and he only has one daughter. He cares about her a lot.â
Eugene spoke word by word.
âMelanie recalled Candyâs adorable character and said, âEven if Candy is his
daughter, itâs pointless. After all, we can only meet him when he lands at the airport.â
Eugene left after a while, and Melanie realized he had not been wearing a coat.
She stood at the door for a while before entering her room.
A rainy day was a good day to have a good sleep.
