Chapter 662
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 662
Melanie knew Eugene well. He had always been cautious.
He would investigate anything that happened out of his expectation.
Not to mention something like that happened yesterdayâ¦
Even if she knew Viola did it and had informed Eugene of it, he would still investigate it.
He needed to verify the facts.
Lee knew what Melanie wanted to ask. He looked away guiltily and said, âNot yet. The accident was unexpected, and the servicing of the surveillance camera was too abrupt. It has to be investigated in detail.â
Melanie would not make things difficult for Lee. It had nothing to do with him.
She looked at her wrist and seemed to be pondering something.
Melanie stayed at the ward for two nights. Lee and Xander would visit her, yet Eugene was nowhere to be seen.

Lee told her he was busy.
Melanie knew the reason for that and did not say anything.
On the day she was discharged, Xander had to check on the samples with the client and could not
come over.
Yvette knew about it and came along with Eric.
Melanie did not know what to say. âIâm getting discharged, not moving houses.â
Yvette helped support her and said, âGetting discharged is something joyous, and the more, the merrier.â
Melanie wanted to ask about Redwaves, yet Eric and Yvette kept mentioning some other things. She could not interrupt them.
When they were at the hospital entrance, Yvette stood by her and waited.
Melanie asked, âWho are you waiting for?â
Yvette said frankly, âWeâre waiting for the person here to pick you up.â
Just as she spoke, a black Bentley stopped before them. Lee got out of the car and asked Melanie, âIs there anything you
want me to put in the boot?â
Melanie froze, and before she could answer, Yvette said, âNo. You only have to pick her up.â
Lee opened the car door, and Melanie saw Eugene sitting inside.

Eugene was talking on the phone in the spacious SUV.
When the door opened, he glanced at them with a frown on his face.
Yvette urged Melanie, âQuickly get into the car. Eric and I have to return to the conference hall and cant accompany you
âPortunately, we met Mr. Scott, and you happen to be heading to the same place. So, heâll be sending you backâ
Melanie was reluctant to enter and said, âI donât think we need to trouble Mr. Scott. I can hail a taxi.â
âWhy do you need to hail a taxi? Itâs peak hours now on the road, and you might have to wait very long to get a taxi.â
Arguing at the hospital entrance was inappropriate, and Eugeneâs car was eyeâcatching.
Under Yvette and Ericâs urging, Melanie glanced at Eugene and entered the car.
After the door closed, Melanie smelled a faint fragrance in the car.
She looked ahead and did not turn toward Eugene.
Eugene hung up the call and looked at Melanie. He pondered before saying, âAre you trying to express Burning Star Studioâs displeasure toward LeapCo through your attitude?â
When he mentioned the two companies, Melanie recalled that Xander and him had argued.
Melanie pursed her lips and looked into Eugeneâs eyes.
Her eyes were clear, and her voice was low. âEugene, I want to talk to you.â
