Chapter 660
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 660
Melanie glanced at him. âDo you have to be so mean?â
Eugene froze for a moment before chuckling. âIâm being mean?â
He scoffed and said, âMelanie, youâre heartless.â
Melanie did not want to argue about this and ate silently.
However, she had experienced a lot and had no appetite. She stopped eating after taking a few bites.
Eugene seemed to be in a bad mood and ate only a little.
Melanie wanted to ask him to leave, but Eugene looked at her and said, âStay in the hospital for two days.â
Her eyelashes fluttered in confusion. âWhy?â
âIs it that difficult to understand the word ârestâ?â Eugene leaned against the couch and squinted his eyes.
He had a noble and arrogant temperament, making him look incompatible with a place like the hospital.
Melanie looked into his eyes and smirked as she asked him, âYou know the person behind those accidents, donât you?â
Eugene said, âNo.â
âViola.â Melanie was straightforward. She looked straight into Eugeneâs eyes. âI canât think of anyone other than her who would hate me so much.â
Eugeneâs eyes showed a strange emotion. He asked, âDo you have proof?â
âIsnât the shattered teapot proof?â Melanie sat on the bed and placed her trembling hands on her lap.
The scene of the teapot shattering before her haunted her.
She could never imagine what would have happened if the teapot had hit her right on her head.
However, Eugene looked at her and said calmly, âThat isnât proof. Thatâs just your guess.â
Melanie sneered. She was right opposite Eugene. The light above her was bright, making her unable to see his expression.
She touched her belly which was carrying a twoâmonthâold fetus. Even though her belly still looked flat, Melanie could feel the babyâs existence.
After taking a deep breath, she said, âEugene, youâre just trying to protect Viola. You know sheâs the perpetrator.â
Then, the ward fell into deep silence.

Eugene looked at her without saying anything. His gaze was deep, and his emotions were unpredictable.
Melanie stopped looking at him. Her voice was cold. âYou can leave now. I donât want you here,â
She looked calm and showed no emotion. However, her hands on her lap were clenched,
Only when Eugene left did her body relax.
A while after Eugene left, Yvonneâs call came in. She might have known Melanie was in the ward from Xander and called to express her concern.
Melanie talked to Yvonne for a while before hanging up the call.
She lost all feelings of sleepiness and stared at the ceiling once the call ended.
The voices outside could be heard, yet Melanie could not hear what they were talking about. However,
it gave her a sense of security.
She closed her eyes and dozed off.
It was a peaceful night.
She woke up when the nurse rounded the ward in the morning.
The nurse smiled and asked, âDid you sleep well last night? Your husband didnât seem to have slept well. He sat all night and just left. Maybe he went to get you breakfast.â
