Chapter 610
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 610
Maybe because of what Dylan had done to her, Melanie was not disappointed with Howardâs fake enthusiasm.
Deep down, it was as if she had already known that Howard did not care much about her.
Maybe when she saw Matthew, she knew she was no longer important to Howard.
It was just like Dylan sacrificing her because of Peachie.
Melanieâs calm gaze looked like she was judging him, spiking Howardâs guilt. He cleared his throat and said, âMel, Iâm happy youâre here in Oskon City. Why donât we have lunch together today?
âI remember your favorite dish is grilled pork ribs, right? Thereâs a restaurant in Oskon City that cooks that well. Let me take you there to try it.â
He tried hard to pretend to be a good father. âAfter lunch, I can take you on a tour around Oskon City and buy you jewelry and handbags. Our Mel has to have everything that other girls have.â
It sounded as if they were close and had never been separated.
Melanie clenched her hands into fists and said, âYou donât have to do all that. Iâm not here for a tour⦠âBefore Melanie could finish her words, she felt nauseous again.
She covered her mouth and retched.
When she lifted her head, a clean tissue was handed to her. Eugene said in his deep voice, âIf you feel unwell, letâs go back and do another medical checkâup.â
Melanie only felt discomfort for a while. It might be because of the accident or because she was in a bad mood after encountering Howard.
Before she could embrace herself, Howard asked, âMel, why are you at the hospital? Are you feeling unwell?â
Melanie was covering her mouth and could not speak. She heard Eugene answer in displeasure, âWhy else would she be here? For a tour?â
Howard was tall and had a good figure among middleâaged men, but Eugene was half a head taller
than him.
Eugene glanced at Biancaâs hand, grabbed Howardâs arm, and mocked, âMr. Smith, youâre pretty kind, looking after your ill female employee. It would be a disgrace not to award you for being so generous, kind, and thoughtful.
âItâs just that a responsible boss like you is asking his daughter why sheâs here at the hospital. You
should care more about your family than your employees.â
Eugeneâs words were sarcastic, yet he was good enough not to be straightforward about Howard and Biancaâs shameful relationship.
Howardâs expression turned gloomy.
Although Eugene wore a highâend suit, he looked a little messy as his suit was crumpled and he had wounds on his face. His image at the moment was way different from the usual him in LeapCo.
Howard looked at him and snorted coldly. âMel, is this your friend? Heâs rude.â
Bianca glanced at Eugene. Even with wounds on his face, Eugene still looked handsome.
Her heart hammered upon seeing such a charming man.
Then, she glanced at Melanie and said, âWhat friend? Canât you see theyâre dating? Otherwise, why would this man be so protective of her?â
Hughâs brows knitted together upon hearing this. He regarded Eugene with a straight face.
Then, he said with displeasure, âI donât agree with this, Mel. If heâs your boyfriend, break up him now! He doesnât deserve you!

âI have many business partners, and they have sons. Any one of them is better than this beggared brat!â
