Chapter 478
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 478
What she did not notice was after she left, Mason took out his phone, made a call, and calmly said, âViola, itâs me-
At the end of the call, Violaâs face turned extremely dark. Yana, who was beside her, was also startled. âWhatâs wrong with you?â
Viola lowered her head. âSorry, I feel a bit dizzy. Could you help me call Eugene?â
Jepton Hospital was a highly efficient facility, and an hour was all it took for Henryâs test results to be released. Melanie had initially planned to take him out for a meal and rest before returning, but she unexpectedly ran into Viola. Behind her was Eugene.
Henry clearly had not expected this, and his expression immediately darkened when he saw the two of them. Viola was somewhat afraid of him. Her face went pale as she instinctively grabbed Eugeneâs arm. âEugene, why is Mr. Scott here?â
Eugeneâs gaze lowered. âYou have a headache. Go get yourself checked out first.â
âBut Iâm scared,â Viola replied as she held onto Eugeneâs arm with a genuinely fearful
expression on her face. âYou know, my aunt just found out she has a vascular tumor. What if itâs hereditary? If Iâ
Eugene interrupted her, âIt wonât happen. Donât scare yourself.â
They happened to be in Melanie and Henryâs way and were behaving as if they were the only ones present.
Melanie was keeping her cool, but Henry spoke up sternly, âEugene, are you deliberately trying to provoke me?â
Violaâs arms were still wrapped around Eugeneâs arm, and when Eugene heard the old man, he replied in an even tone, âLandon told me this morning that you were coming for a checkâup. Since sheâs accompanying you, you can rest assured.â
When he mentioned âsheâ, he glanced at Melanie.
Her gaze was calm. The old man tapped his cane on the ground and said, âEugene, listen to what youâre saying. Mel is such a good girl, and itâs your own fault she doesnât wish to see you!
Henryâs words made the expression on Violaâs face freeze for a moment. She was surprised that Eugeneâs grandfather could be so biased toward Melanie to the extent of even scolding his own grandson.
Viola looked up at Melanie, who was looking at Eugene calmly. Even though nothing had been said between the two, Viola felt there was an unspoken barrier between them.
She pinched herself in the palm, took a few steps back, and collided with the door behind her. Her face turned pale from the pain. Hearing the sound, both Eugeneâs and Melanieâs gazes turned toward her.
Viola fell to the ground while murmuring incoherently, âEugene, I donât feel so good.â She looked so terrible that even Melanie was frowning.
Eugene went over and picked her up before heading toward the emergency room. When he
walked past Henry, he paused for a moment. His dark pupils met Henryâs gaze. âIâll explain later.â
Henry looked at the paleâfaced woman in Eugeneâs arms and said nothing, his expression still displeased.
Eugene carried Viola away, and Melanie remained standing in the same spot, her expression unchanging. When she noticed Henryâs unhappy expression, she pondered for a moment and whispered, âThe doctor said you should try to remain calm.â
Henry hesitated before looking at Melanie. âI just feel sorry for you.â
Her gaze lowered. âYou donât have to.â
Henry shook his head and sighed, an indecipherable emotion flashing across his such a good child⦠Eugene will regret this sooner or later.â
