Chapter 477
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 477
Violaâs eyes widened as she looked at Henry, âMr. Henry, what are you talking about?â
Henryâs voice was low. âState your conditions. As long as theyâre reasonable, Iâll agree. Eugene is young and enjoys playing around, which is normal. But the Scott family will not just watch if he goes too far.â
Violaâs head spun. She could not understand what Henry was saying. Gaze lowered, she hemmed and hawed for a while before saying, âBut I truly love Eugene.â
âYou truly love him?â The old man sneered, tossing the tea directly into the trash can. His tone was indifferent as he questioned, âWhat can your âtrue loveâ bring to the Scotts?â
Viola was shocked by Henryâs actions and was unable to speak. Her lips trembled as tears welled up in her eyes.
Henry looked at her with a frown as he said harshly, âMiss Shaw, though I have no idea of the means you used to make Eugene break up with Melanie, I regret to inform you that in my eyes, you donât meet the standards to be Eugeneâs wife.
âIf youâre smart enough, make your demands now and leave Eugene.â
Viola was completely shaken by Henryâs words. She was staring at him blankly as if unable to speak. It was not until the caregiver helped the old man up with a cane and left that Viola regained some composure.
She looked at the cup in the trash can, feeling extremely embarrassed. One million? How ridiculous. Even the things Eugene casually gave to Melanie were worth a million. Why should she accept one million to leave Eugene?
Viola could not help but recall Henryâs gentle demeanor toward Melanie. His gaze had been tranquil.
Melanie had no idea what transpired at LeapCo.
She had been busy coordinating various business matters the past few days and would occasionally accompany Xander and others to the site. The onâsite setup was almost in its final stages.
It was evening when she received a call from Eugeneâs grandfather. Henry had a coughing fit before he finally asked weakly, âMel, do you have time tomorrow?â It was Friday the next day, and Melanie did not have much to do.
âWhatâs the matter?â she asked.
âI havenât been feeling well since I came back. Eugene and the others are busy, so I have to shamelessly ask you if you have the time to accompany me to the hospital,â the man replied.
His coughing had been real, and after thinking for a moment, Melanie said, âIâll come pick you up tomorrow.â
Henry had indeed not been feeling well. He was losing his appetite these days and had trouble sleeping at night. Not only that, his blood pressure had increased.
When Melanie arrived, the caregiver had already packed everything. She took Henry directly to Jepton Hospital.
This was a private hospital and had fewer patrons. Henry had previously undergone medical examinations here.
Due to her experience in taking care of her grandfather, Melanie was familiar with the hospital procedures. She handled the various formalities and then led Henry to carry out the
examination.
When they were done with the last examination, Henry sighed and said, âMel, youâre really meticulous.â
âIf you feel unwell at all, just let me know,â Melanie said.
Henry waved his hand.
Holding a pile of documents in her hand, Melanie was about to check the time when she
caught sight of someoneâMason. Displeasure crossed her features when she noticed she had been encountering the man more frequently lately.
She did not like his methods and did not wish to interact with him much, so she moved Henry somewhere else.
