Chapter 463
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 463
When Melanie got downstairs, Xander and Oliver were still waiting for her.
She approached them, and Xander asked, âHave you settled the matter?â
âYes.â Melanie nodded. âMoreover, Eugene said we could refer to the guideline and carry out the project reasonably.â
Oliver lifted his eyebrow. âOh, he gave in?â
âItâs not him giving in. But at the very least, this is a chance. After you do the proposal, Iâll hand it to him,â said Melanie.
Compared to letting others do the proposal, Oliver felt amending the project was better. His spirits were raised, and he asked Xander, âLetâs go to the supplier now?â
Xander nodded and looked at Melanie.
She said, âIâll prepare the information needed back in the villa. After all, I canât help much with the materials.â
Xander hesitated before asking, âHave your matters been settled?â
Melanie looked unhappy, and it seemed her matter was not settled.
Concerned, he said gently, âYou can let me know if you need any help.â
Melanie closed her eyes and said, âI know.â
After Melanie left, only Viola was with Eugene in the office.
Viola looked at Eugene, feeling emotional. She felt Eugene and her were not like a couple.
Eugene did not seem to care about her anymore. He transferred her to the secretaryâs office and employed a new intern.
To Viola, that meant Eugene had dumped her.
She called out his name, âEugeneâ¦â
Eugene flipped through the report. âWhatâs the matter?â
âIâ¦â Viola wanted to speak, but Eugeneâs phone rang.
He looked at his phone coldly and glanced at Viola before answering.
Viola was a little reluctant when she left the office.
It was almost ten at night when Eugene arrived at the Scott familyâs place.
Just as he entered, Cedricâs displeased voice sounded. âWhy are you back so late?â
âI worked overtime,â answered Eugene calmly.
Cedric sneered. âI thought you were being stubborn and refusing to return.â
Eugene was used to Cedricâs behavior and sat on the couch as he asked coldly, âWhy did you want me back here?â
Cedric was still stern as he sat opposite Eugene. âYour mother and I have decided on your
engagement to Evelyn. Sheâs a suitable woman for you.â
Eugeneâs hatred flashed across his eyes but soon disappeared.
He said in his deep voice, âYouâre good at arranging. No wonder you could coax the Hel family to marry their daughter to you.â
âEugene! I am your father!â
Eugene scoffed. âIâm not denying that.â
Cedricâs face was ashen. âDo you think you have the right to reject? Donât forget what youâve promised me!â
Eugene frowned and stood up to leave. Before he even took a step, Cedric said, âYour grandfatherâs flight to Jepton is tomorrow. Think about it.â
Eugene froze. His grandfather was the one who looked after him when he was a kid, but later on, he had to recuperate on an island abroad because of his health. It had been a long time since he returned.
After a moment of hesitation, he left.
His grandfather was almost in his 80s, but he still looked healthy.
