Chapter 235
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 235
The way Eugene looked at Melanie was like he was about to stare through her. Melanieâs fingers dug into her palms as she replied grimly, âI was supposed to meet Cameron Crane tonight. If you feel that I shouldâve ditched him to meet Mr. Morrison instead, then thereâs nothing else I can say about it.â
âDo you think heâd still want to work with LeapCo when heâs lying on the hospital bed?â Eugene was furious and looked grim. His tone was accusing and angry.
Viola stood at the side quietly with her head lowered.
Melanie closed her eyes and was about to say something when the nurse came over to them.â The patient in bed 32 is awake.â
Evan was in bed 32, and Eugene walked over to him with Melanie close behind.
He looked pale in bed. When he saw Eugene, he waved at him weakly. âLooks like LeapCo and Blue Inc arenât suited to be working together, Mr. Scott.â
Evanâs words were equivalent to the end of their potential partnership, and Eugeneâs face fell slightly.
Melanie took a deep breath and said slowly, âHave a good rest, Mr. Morrison. Work isnât that urgent. Thereâs still a lot of time for us to discuss this.â
Evan still looked upset. His secretary rushed into the ward while contacting his family.
Melanie and Eugene had no choice but to leave. Viola was still waiting outside the ward, and she looked at Eugene worriedly. âIs Mr. Morrison okay, Eugene?â
Eugene was silent. Melanie followed behind them and said nothing as well.
When they got to the car park, Eugene suddenly stopped and turned to look at Melanie.
There was a dark look in his eyes, and it looked like a storm was brewing.
Melanie was standing under a lamp post, so she could see his expression very clearly. She pressed her lips and she heard herself say hoarsely, âIâll come back and apologize properly to Mr. Morrison.â
There were no emotions on Eugeneâs cold face. He was tall and had distinct features. He was used to being in a superior position. When he looked grim, he was very intimidating.
After a while, he suppressed the cold look in his eyes and said impassively, âYou no longer need to be involved with Blue Inc.â
Melanie looked up at him in surprise. âI told you that Iâll apologize to Mr. Morrison.â
âDo you really think youâre capable of changing anything?â Eugene snorted. He said slowly to Melanie, âDonât overestimate yourself.â
Melanie felt a chill run through her despite it being a summer night. She stared at Eugene and could not say anything for a long time.
Eugene looked emotionlessly at her. âIâve told you before that Blue Inc isnât something for you to play with.â
Chapter 235
Melanie looked at him quietly. Eugene thought that Blue Inc was just a game to her?
She had spent sleepless nights working on the proposal and collecting information about Blue Inc from anywhere she could. She had even done everything she could think of to meet Cameron Crane, but to Eugene, she was just playing around with this.
All of this happened because Viola had made a mistake.
That was the reason.
Eugene could not bear to berate Viola and had decided that this was all Melanieâs fault.
Melanie stumbled a few steps backward. She tried her best to stand up straight and not display any weakness to Eugene.
âMel! It really is you!â While Melanie was in a daze, she suddenly heard Dylanâs voice. She had initially thought that she had imagined it. Melanie frowned and tried to clear her head.
A woman trotted toward her. It was Dylan.
Rubbing her hands, she looked at Melanie pitifully. âMel, your grandfather is refusing to see me. Can you help me?â
