Chapter 230
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 230
Dylan clung to Melanie as if she was holding onto a lifeline. âSally!â
When Melanieâs grandfather heard what she said, he threw his cane beside Dylan and shouted, âSally, get her out of here! I donât want to see her again!â
The caregivers and the director who had remained nearby rushed over upon hearing the old manâs voice. The director pulled Dylan away, saying, âThe old man is not in good health. Please leave for now.â
Only when Dylan was led away by the director did Melanieâs grandfather raise his hand and hit his head. Frustrated and angry, he muttered, âWhat sins have I committed?!â
Melanie also snapped out of her stupor then. She rubbed the hand that Dylan had grabbed and then calmly went to support her grandfather.
The old man waved his hand. âYou should go back first.â
âIâm worried about your health,â Melanie said.
âIâm fine, really.â Despite the fatigue evident in her grandfatherâs tone, he shook his head, not wanting Melanie to accompany him.
However, when they reached the room door, he stopped and slowly turned back to look at Melanie with a gaze full of sadness. âMel, this has nothing to do with you. No matter what she says or does, donât get involved.â
Melanie felt a stir in her heart. She closed her eyes briefly and finally said, âIâll come to pick you up to visit Grandma tomorrow.â
After her grandfather went back to his room, Melanie stayed for a while before leaving. It was not until she got home that she took out her phone.
She quickly glanced at her messaging app. Finding no important messages, she then put her phone down to rest and sleep. She was very tired.
Dealing with the pile of work at the company was already exhausting, and now Dylan had come to cause a disturbance. It would not be an exaggeration to say that she was mentally and physically exhausted.
Melanie had not been asleep for long when she began to feel a dull ache in her stomach. Her eating habits had been irregular lately, and she did not even have dinner the night before. She fumbled to check the time and saw that it was only four in the morning.
Melanie got out of bed and went to the living room in search of some medicine for her stomach. After taking a pill, she lay back down.
By the time she left the house, her stomach was still uncomfortable. She grabbed a cup of hot water and placed it on her stomach to warm herself.
With no reply from Cameron, Melanie had to change her strategy. She checked the article posted on Blue Incâs public account this morning, took a screenshot of a part she did not quite understand, and sent it to Cameron. She was humbly seeking advice.
âMelanie, hey!â A crisp and lively voice rang out as Viola entered the office holding several cups of coffee. She placed one on Melanieâs desk and said, âGood morning!â

Melanie glanced at the coffee, his expression unchanging. âIâm not feeling well. No coffee for me.â
The bright smile on Violaâs face immediately faded. She muttered a low apology to Melanie, Sorry, Melanie, itâs my fault.â
âI
Coincidentally, a colleague who had just arrived overheard Viola apologizing to Melanie again. and could not help whispering, âWhy is Melanie scolding Viola again? How many times has it been?â
Although the voice had been a whisper, the office was quiet in the early morning, so many people heard it.
Melanie remained expressionless and silent while Viola hurriedly explained, âNo, itâs my fault. I shouldnât have bought coffee for Melanieâs breakfast.â
Flipping through the documents, Melanieâs actions paused. She looked up at Viola casually. â Did I ask you to buy breakfast for me?â
Her tone was calm as she continued, âAlso, refrain from doing anything too smart for your own good or itâll just make you look foolish.â
