Chapter 26
My Billionaire Kidnapper
"No, I don't want to!"
"What do you mean you don't want to?"
"I'm not going to dance!"
"Why not? You'd rather me dance with another woman?" He said, following me around the penthouse, trying to persuade me to accompany him to a waltz lesson.
"Yes! Do just that!" I said and ran towards my room. He won't leave me alone until I go.
Apparently, the charity ball was going to have Luca and his date have the first waltz, and do you know what that means?
Everyone's going to be staring at us, might even judge me too.
Nope! Not going to do it!
I mean, I knew there was going to be a dance, it's a ball, for gods sake. But I was already planning to not dance with anyone including Luca, if he were to ask me.
And now this?
I run in and try to close the door but Luca slams it open.
"Luna, be reasonable. Why are you refusing to go?" He walks closer to me and stops right in front of me.
"It's embarrassing. I've never waltzed before and you want me to dance my first waltz in front of hundreds of people? I'm definitely going to make a lot of mistakes."
"That's why we're having a waltz lesson. To practice."
"I said no." I cross my arms. "Now leave and go find someone else to dance with you."
"And I said you're going." He picks me up and puts me over his shoulder. "You're the only woman I'll be dancing with on that night. End of conversation."
"Where are your heels that we bought?" He asks.
"It's in the closet. Why do you need them?"
"It'll be a little hard for us to dance the waltz due to our height. The heels will make it easier. You also get to practice dancing in them."
"Oh right."
I don't bother to fight him on that topic anymore and accept my fate.
I'm definitely embarrassing myself on the night.
We arrive at a two-storey building and head in.
Luca walks up to the receptionist and checks in.
The receptionist lady refers us to the second floor.
"Don't be nervous, my love." Luca said from behind me as we walk up the fancy stairs.
"I know you'll do great."
"I doubt it." I said feeling even more nervous.
We make it upstairs and an older woman greets us.
"Hello, my name is Michelle. I'll be your dancing instructor today. Are you guys excited?"
No.
"Yes." I said trying to sound cheerful.
Luca chuckles. "I'm Luca and this is Luna."
"Luca and Luna. Okay. So why don't you two come over to the middle of the room and face each other."
She gestures us over and we follow.
I quickly put my heels on.
"Okay. Now take a deep breath and relax your arms at your sides."
We do as we're told.
"Now in waltz, we have a leader and a follower. It's a team job. The leader leads and the follower follows. In this case, Luca will guide you and you, Luna dear, will follow his steps."
"Okay." I say.
"Luca dear, place your right hand on Luna's shoulder blade, please." She instructs.
His large hand touches my shoulder blade.
"Now, take her right hand in your left hand."
He follows her instructions and holds my right hand in his.
"Great. Luna dear, please place your left hand on Luca's shoulder."
"This is how you will be positioned on the day. Please memorise this." She says. "Now, Luca, using your left foot first, move forward then with your right foot and then finally settle your left foot close, next to your right foot."
"Luna, you will need to take a step backward with your right foot first then with your left foot, then settle your right next to your left foot.
"Luca, your next step is to take a step back with your right foot, then with your left foot, then settle your right foot close, next to your left.
"Luna, you take a step forward with your left foot, then with your right and settle your left foot close, next to your right foot. You both keep doing that until you get comfortable. You may proceed."
"Are you ready?" Luca asks me.
"Yes."
Here goes.
We do as the lady says, Luca stepping forward with his left foot and me stepping backward with my right foot, His hand on my shoulder blade and mine on his shoulder.
Even with the heels, it was a little hard to keep my hand on his shoulder because he was so tall.
We're doing good until I trip on my own two feet.
"Woah!"
"Steady there." Luca says, gripping onto my shoulders.
"Sorry." I apologised.
"Mistakes are normal, my love. You were doing great so far."
"Don't lie. I suck."
"You don't suck. It's your first time. Take it easy on yourself."
We kept repeating the step until we both felt satisfied.
"Perfect! Now we're going to teach you how to spin around."
We spent the rest of the afternoon perfecting our waltz, learning all the steps and how to spin around the dance floor, and finally headed home.
We still needed time to practice.
I mean, I still needed to practice.
Luca did so well, even looked perfect doing it.
We arrive at the penthouse and enter.
"Well done, my love. I'm so proud of you." Luca said.
"I'm still nervous." I told him.
I'm suddenly pulled around to face him.
"Put your heels on."
"Huh? Why?"
"Just do it."
"Okay."
He walks off into the penthouse and I put my heels on.
Where'd he go?
I hear music being played in the living room and I head there.
I see Luca, standing in the middle of the living room.
"What's this?" I ask him.
His eyes find me and he starts to approach me.
"May I have this dance, my lady?" He asks and bows.
Laughing, I decide to play along.
"I'd love to, kind sir." I bow back.
We both laugh as he pulls me to the middle of the living room.
We both step forward and get into position.
"Do you remember the steps?" He asks.
"Yeah."
"Okay, we're going to start on three."
"Okay."
"One, two, three."
We start going over the basic steps at first.
Slowly, we start to spin around the room.
Luca leads the way and I follow.
"I'm going to twirl you now." He says.
He lifts my arm and I twirl around.
Giggling, I say, "It's your turn!"
"What?"
I try to lift his arm but fail because of his height.
He bends his head down and twirls.
"That was so funny!" I laugh.
"Oh yeah?"
Hands suddenly grab my waist and I'm pulled up in the air.
"Luca!"
He twirls me around in the air.
"Put me down!"
"Who do you belong to?" He asks.
"What?"
"Who do you belong to?"
"No one!"
"Luna, who do you belong to?"
Feeling brave, I decide to say, "Diego!"
He stops twirling me around and pulls me closer to him, our faces inches apart.
"What did you say?" Rage seared through him.
"Um, I-I-"
"Who do you belong to?" He asks again, gritting his teeth.
"You." I whisper.
"Say it louder."
"You!" I shout.
"Good girl." He says, kisses my forehead and finally puts me down. "Don't ever forget that."
I head to my room and lay down on my bed.
Hopefully the charity ball goes smoothly.

Hello guys!
So I saw a comment saying I should add Luca's POV in the charity ball chapter. Even though this book is mainly Luna's POV, I think it would be special to add Luca's POV as well for that chapter.
What do you guys think?
Thanks for the idea! @LineEskildsen
Until next time! Xx
