Chapter 19

What time is it? Oh shit! I opened my eyes only to find myself in Lucas bed with him behind me and his arm wrapped around my waist. Wait. How am I in his bed? I slept on the couch last night.

Oh no! I didn't wake up in time. It's not too late though.

I grabbed his arm and tried to unwrap it from my waist only for Luca to pull me closer to him and wrap his arm around me tighter. I was so close that I could feel my butt touching his crotch.

I tried to get off the bed once more but I heard him groan and I stopped.

"Luna." He warned.

Who cares? He's already awake. I'll just get off now. I got up when Luca pushed me back down and flipped on top of me.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked raising his eyebrow.

"To my room." I said able to without stuttering surprisingly because of how he was on top me.

"I don't remember giving you permission to go to your room." He said smirking.

I frowned. "What do you mean?"

"I meant what I said. You're not allowed to go to your room." He said.

"Luca, stop playing." I told him trying to push him back but he wouldn't budge.

"Who said anything about playing?" He said shaking his head.

"Luca, you can't keep me in your room." I said.

"You're the one who came to my room first." He said smirking again.

I became embarrassed and I started getting sweaty. Well let me just tell him the truth.

"I was scared and I kept hearing noises outside from the wind and I kept thinking it was another thief so I came to your room."

"Oh my little Luna." He said nudging his nose against my cheek. I felt butterflies in my stomach at his action and closed my eyes for a second and opened them when he moved his face away.

"But I remember sleeping on the couch. Why did you bring me to your bed? I was perfectly fine on the couch." I said.

"I wasn't going to let my princess sleep on the couch where it's uncomfortable." He said shaking his head at the thought.

What was I going to say to that? So I just nodded my head.

"Can I get off now?" I asked.

"No." He said.

"Please?"

"No." He said. "Just a bit more." He said and I was confused at what he said until he put all his weight on top of me and closed his eyes.

No way is this heavy man going to sleep on top of me.

"Luca, get off." I whined.

"No." His voice came out muffled because his face was on my stomach.

"Lu-" I started until he put his hand on my mouth to stop me from talking.

"Shhh." He grabbed my right hand and placed it on his head. Why did he do that?

"Play with my hair." He said with eyes still closed and face still on my stomach but this time his face was on his side.

Why's he doing this so early in the morning?

"Luna, please." He said and looked up at me from underneath his long eyelashes.

I let out a sigh. How can I say no to him.

My fingers touched his soft, luscious hair. How can a mans hair be so soft? I began playing with his hair and watched as my fingers got lost in his hair and then I smiled when they came out again.

I looked at Luca. He smiled at me and put his face back on my stomach.

I continued until my legs became numb. And I was sure it was getting late.

"Luca?"

I got no response from him.

"Luca? It's getting late." I said.

Still no response.

I looked at him to find him sleeping. He was more tired than I thought. I carefully pushed him off me and got off the bed.

I made sure he was comfortable and pulled the covers over him. I stood there staring at his beautiful face.

Luca was a handsome man no doubt. But why he would pick me, I had no idea. I moved some hair that had fallen on his face.

I walked to the kitchen to make us some breakfast. I ended up deciding to make eggs and toast. I put the bread in the toaster when I heard a knock.

Who might that be?

Should I open the door or should I let Luca open the door?

But Luca was asleep. Would he get angry at me for opening the door? I had so many questions.

I heard another knock and decided to open the door.

I walked to the door and opened it. There stood a young man that looked to be around the same age as Luca with brown hair and brown eyes. He was tall too probably the same as Luca.

He was leaning against the wall and when his eyes landed on me he smiled.

"You must be Luna." He said.

"Yeah. Um who are you?" How does this man know my name.

"I'm Diego. I'm here to meet Luca." He said and reached out to shake my hand.

I put my hand in his but he kissed it instead. I felt myself blushing. I pulled my hand from his.

"Come in." I said opening the door wider.

"Thank you." He said and followed me inside.

"Would you like anything to drink?" I asked.

"No thank you. He answered. "Where's Luca?"

"Let me check." I said and went to Lucas room. I heard the shower running so I figured he was in the shower.

Wait this is my chance to run. Diego can help me. I quickly went to the living room to find Diego sitting on the couch.

"So where's Luca?" He asked me.

"He's in the shower." I said and he nodded.

I had a bad feeling in my stomach but ignored it. "Look, I need your help."

"What do you mean you need my help? Did Luca hurt you?" He asked me looking concerned coming closer.

"No, I was kidnapped and I need you to help me leave this place now. We don't have much time." I said and grabbed his arm. "Please." I begged him.

He opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by none other than Luca.

"What's going on here?" Luca asked and I looked to see him with only a towel around his waist looking at me and Diego and then at my hand on Diego's arm. I saw his jaw clench and I gulped.

"Nothing." I said letting go of Diego's arm.

"What are you doing here Diego?" He asked looking at Diego.

I looked at Diego pleading with my eyes not to tell Luca. Diego was smiling and looked at Luca.

"What? No hi to your best friend." He said and rolled his eyes.

"Best friend?" I asked and all eyes were on me now.

"Yes Luna. Luca is my best friend from childhood." He said and walked up to give Luca a hug.

Luca moved back from him. "Why was Luna touching you?" He asked.

No please don't tell him. If Diego tells Luca I was trying to escape I would have to gain Lucas trust all over again.

"Sorry Luna. He said and looked at Luca. "Well, you see, Luna here didn't know I was your friend and asked me to help her escape."

Luca looked disappointed and looked at me for a second before looking back at Diego. He looked as if he was in deep thought.

"You should be more careful with her next time. If I was someone else, she would've gotten away by now." He said. Shut up Diego.

"Yeah I'll make sure next time." He said looking at me. "I'm going to change. Watch her for me." He said looking at me and left.

There was an awkward silence.

"I had to tell him." He said breaking the silence.

"You didn't have to." I said.

"I did. I haven't seen Luca so happy after you came in to his life. And I wasn't going to let his only source of happiness go." He said.

Diego was a good friend and I understand that he cares for his friend but I couldn't help but feel a bit angry.

Luca came walking out with pants and a casual shirt on.

"So what are you doing here?" Luca asked Diego.

"You don't want me here?" Diego asked feigning hurt.

"That's right." Luca said chuckling.

I remembered the eggs and the toast and continued to make them.

"Wow what a friend." Diego said his voice laced with sarcasm. "I told the ladies at the front desk to call me whenever you came back to the city and she was right. And when she told me you didn't come alone but with a girl, I knew I had to come meet Luna." He said.

Luca rubbed his face. "I have to tell those ladies to stop telling people where I am and what I'm doing."

I placed the breakfast on the table. "Would you like to join us Diego?" I asked him.

"No thank you. I didn't come just to meet you but I had to talk to Luca as well." He said staring at Luca. Luca understood what Diego was trying to say.

"Luna, can you bring my breakfast to the office please? It's at the end of the hallway." Luca said and walked away with Diego following behind him.

I wonder what Diego has to say.

I placed the food on the tray and walked to the office. I was about to knock when I heard my name. I put my ear on the door to hear better.

"Tell me everything you found out about Luna." I heard Luca say.

"I know the same thing you do. She lived in the orphanage her whole life, tried running away once but failed, succeeded the second time, was homeless for a while, found a job where she met you, got a small, old house in a dodgy area and that's it." Diego said.

"That can't be it. Something happened. Something that's stopping her from being with me." There was silence for a while until Luca spoke up.

"Something happened in the orphanage or when she was homeless. How long was she homeless?"

"A week."

"A lot can happen in a week."

"I don't think it was when she was homeless though. Something must've happened in the orphanage that we don't know about. I've always seen stories in the news about kids suffering in the orphanage and how some don't treat the kids well." Oh Diego keep your mouth shut.

"That's true." Luca let out a sigh. "Visit the orphanage she was kept in today and ask about Luna. See if anyone has any hatred towards her then bring them to me." I gasped when he said that but quickly put my hand on my mouth.

"Luna?" I heard Luca call out.

The door opened revealing Diego. "Well hello there, cupcake, were you eavesdropping?" He asked smiling.

"Um-"

"Luna, come here." Luca said.

Diego moved aside to let me in and closed the door behind him.

"Wha-"

"Luca, you can't send Diego to the orphanage." I said and quickly regretted it.

Lucas eyes widened and he looked at Diego then back at me.

"Why, Luna."

"You just can't." I said.

Luca looked at Diego one last time and gave him a nod.

I looked at Diego to see him nodding back.

"I guess it's time for me to leave now. It was a pleasure to meet you, cupcake." Diego said.

"It's Luna for you." Luca said.

"It's Luna for you." Diego said copying Lucas deep voice. He laughed and left the room closing the door leaving Luca and I alone in Lucas office.

I turned around to find Luca staring at me.

"You and I darling, need to have a long chat."

Here we go.
