Chapter 812: 812: Unstoppable Bleeding
He Clings to Me Every Night
After finishing his official business, Daniel Marshall was looking at Olivia Jenkinsâ photos.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
He glanced at the caller ID and answered, âWhatâs up?â
An anxious voice came through the phone, âChief Daniel Marshall, Miss Ziegler accidentally cut her hand while arranging flowers. The wound looks quite deep, and there was a lot of bleeding. We urged her to go to the hospital, but she refused. She says she doesnât want to trouble anyone and that it will be fine once the bleeding stops and she applies some medicine.â
Daniel frowned in displeasure, âHas the bleeding stopped yet?â
âWe pressed on it for a few minutes, but the bleeding hasnât stopped. As soon as we let go, the cut starts bleeding again. Iâm worried that itâs quite deep, and I donât know if it needs stitches.
Miss Ziegler comforted everyone not to worry about her. She said that she had experienced this kind of situation when she was younger and that if you press long enough, it would stop bleeding. If the bleeding stops, she will be fine. Thatâs what she says, but Iâm afraid she might get tetanus.â
After thinking for a few seconds, Daniel said sternly, âIâm coming over immediately; she still needs to be treated at the hospital.â
âUnderstood, we will prepare everything here.â
â¦
At the hospital, the doctor examined Grace Zieglerâs finger carefully.
The cut was a bit deep, requiring debridement and suturing, and she also needed a tetanus shot.
In the treatment room, a nurse was cleaning Graceâs wound when suddenly, Grace cried out in pain and started crying.
Whenever the pressure on Graceâs finger was not maintained, the bleeding resumed, and her cries of pain became more agonizing.
This was just the disinfecting and cleaning of the woundâstitches had not even started yet, and Grace already looked so miserable that it was a little unbearable for Daniel to watch.
In a moment, Daniel wrapped his arms around Grace, consoling her with a few words.
It was very painful, and Graceâs mood did not improve. She leaned against Daniel, still crying bitterly.
Daniel furrowed his brows and looked at the nurse, âGive her anesthesia when you stitch her up.â
âWe can give anesthesia. Just bear with it a little longer. The disinfection needs to be thorough to prevent infection.â
Grace sobbed miserably, âBrother, I can bear it. Iâm alright. I was just scared, and thatâs why I screamed, but Iâm not as scared now.â
Daniel didnât know how to comfort her anymore and tenderly stroked Graceâs head with a heart filled with pity.
This one word âBrotherâ also stirred a sense of compassion in Danielâs heart.
As a brother, it was his responsibility to look after his sister.
He had the means, and he should ensure that his mother and sister could live a good life, without suffering any grievances.
There was a blood bond, and he had a responsibility to them. He also wanted to be able to give warmth to his family members.
He also hoped that Olivia could integrate into such a complex family dynamic, instead of rejecting his half-sister with whom he shared a mother.
Pursing his lips, Danielâs voice was very gentle as he continued to comfort Grace, âWith brother here, donât be afraid. The nurse will finish the treatment soon.â
Grace continued crying and nodded her head.@@novelbin@@
While the nurse was stitching her up, she clung tightly to Danielâs suit jacket.
By sharing in this experience with her, he felt the pain deeply. Thatâs why he would be heartbroken for herâthatâs why he wouldnât send her away.
Grace had already made up her mind; she couldnât go abroad, couldnât give up everything she had worked so hard to obtain.
â¦
After Graceâs wound was treated, Daniel wiped away her tears and accompanied her to get the injection.
After the skin test, Daniel stayed with Grace in the observation room.
Graceâs eyes were still red, looking pitifully at Daniel like a child who had done something wrong, âBrother, Iâm sorry for causing you more trouble again.â
Daniel had no intention of blaming her. Instead, he looked back at Grace with eyes full of pity, âIn the future, be more careful. If youâre injured, you must see a doctor and let the professionals handle it. Thankfully it wasnât serious, but you still need to be more careful from now on.â
