Chapter 757: Where Is My Wife?
He Clings to Me Every Night
âOfficer Ziegler, did you get that?â
Secretary-general Saundersâ voice heightened somewhat, bringing Grace Ziegler back from her scattered thoughts.
Upon momentary reflection, Grace nodded awkwardly.
Indeed, she wasnât a secretary of the CEOâs office, just an officer.
The officer rank probably sounds nice, but in reality, she was nothing, not even considered worthy of doing odd jobs.
Housing her in the CEOâs office might have just been a way to keep a better eye on her.
She couldnât care less, staying in the CEOâs office brought her closer to Daniel Marshall â maybe there was still hope.
Remaining in the CEOâs office, sheâd have more opportunities.
Thereâs also a possibility that Daniel was trying to protect her.
Regardless, she was in the CEOâs office, under Danielâs watch â a place many people would never reach in their lifetime, and a wish many people aspired.
Most plans need not be urgently implemented, they could adapt to changing circumstances, and could be formulated slowly over time.
This was an opportunity that Grace Ziegler would undoubtedly not miss. She needed to seize it.
Secretary-general Saunders looked at Grace sternly, instructing harshly, âYou are not allowed to touch Chief Marshallâs coffee. Every day, you are responsible for noting what office supplies are missing, and ensuring they are replenished before work starts. These are the rules of conduct in the CEOâs office, write them down twenty times, and hand them to me when youâre done.â
âYes, Secretary-general Saunders!â
Without saying anything more, Secretary-general Saunders walked away.
Grace glanced at the secretaryâs office, where all the busy men were engrossed in their work.
Actually, among everyone in the CEOâs office, she was the only one idle â it was as if she was the most useless one.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
From Graceâs position, she couldnât see the CEOâs office, instead, she was facing the assistantâs office.
If Assistant Howard looked out from his office, he could see her perfectly.
Grace glanced around before seating herself to start copying out the CEOâs office rules of conduct.
At this time, she had to present her best side, leave a good impression on others, defuse their vigilance against her before she could carry out the next step of her plan.
â¦
Regardless of whether Olivia Jenkins looked or not, Daniel Marshall insisted on sending her the wedding dress design drafts.
Even though Olivia never answered his calls, Daniel would still call her every once in a while.
No matter what, he wanted Olivia to know that he was constantly thinking about her.
In the office of the Director of Operations at Quiet Video, suddenly, a secretary announced, âMiss Winter, Daniel Marshall from the Marshall Corporation is here. He didnât make an appointment, but he wants to see you, should we let him in?â
Miss Winter hesitated for a few seconds before saying, âLet him in.â
Daniel walked in and took the seat across from Miss Winter.
Miss Winterâs keen eyes stayed fixed on Daniel and she went straight to the point, âYouâre here to ask me where Olivia went, arenât you? Iâm sorry, I canât tell you. She told me not to betray her.â
Daniel shrugged, speaking seriously, âWith everything that has happened recently, Miss Winter, you must have heard about it. I really need to see her for something very important. Please, tell me where she is.â
The expression on Miss Winterâs face remained unchanged, she shook her head, âSheâs filming the second season of the charity variety show. If you truly care about Olivia and want to know where she is, itâs not hard at all. Just keep an eye on updates about her show, and youâll know everything.â
Daniel nodded slightly, âThank you, Miss Winter.â
âChief Marshall, hereâs a piece of advice for you. If you havenât thought it over yet, if youâre still undecided, if youâre not determined to live a good life together, donât bother Olivia. Sheâs been hurt enough already. Otherwise, you will only push her further away.â
