Chapter 675: 675 Daniel Marshall Cries
He Clings to Me Every Night
Suddenly, Daniel Marshall opened his eyes, catching Olivia Jenkinsâ gaze before she had time to look away.
Daniel moved closer to Olivia, his domineering aura almost palpably brushed against her face, âWife, canât you sleep?â
Without any hesitation, Olivia casually said, âNo!â
âAre you afraid of me?â
âNo!â
âSleep, I wonât do anything inappropriate, but I just want to hold you in my sleep. Itâs the only way I feel secure; Iâm scared youâll leave me again.â
Olivia paused for a moment, cautiously asking, âCanât you sleep? Are you worried about nightmares?â
âSeeing how distant youâve become, I was pretending to sleep, just to make you feel a bit more at peace.â
Oliviaâs eyelashes fluttered gently, and her body gradually relaxed.
Suddenly, she, too, wrapped her arms around Daniel and snuggled up against him, âSleep, I wonât leave.â
âWife, goodnight!â

Before Olivia could finish her sentence, Daniel had already leaned down and kissed her on the forehead.
A few seconds later, a faint smile appeared on Oliviaâs lips.
She closed her eyes, holding Daniel tightly.
With his wife holding him, Daniel felt a little more reassured. Heeding her advice, he closed his eyes to sleep, too.
â¦
Professor Winnieâs private studio.
Daniel and Olivia sat across from Professor Winnie.
In merely a day, Danielâs demeanor had notably become more relaxed, âLast night, I probably fell asleep around 11 oâclock. I woke up at 6:30 in the morning. No nightmares, and I felt pretty good.â
Professor Winnie nodded, âThatâs a good result. Support and encouragement are really needed during therapy. I hope you two continue to maintain this. Today, Iâll be doing psychological therapy for you, which might cause some discomfort. Weâll continue to observe the situation for another week. If the quality of sleep remains good, I wonât prescribe any medications.â
Daniel blinked, glanced at Olivia, and out of nowhere, Olivia took his hand, giving him a look of approval.
Suddenly, a smile appeared on Danielâs handsome face, âUnderstood, thank you, Professor Winnie.â
âMr. Marshall, please lie down on the sleeping chair.â
Daniel obeyed Professor Winnieâs instructions and lay down on the sleeping chair.
Professor Winnie said, âClose your eyes; this environment is safe and quiet. You have the company of your wife. Mr. Marshall, you may sleep now.â
About five minutes later, Professor Winnie turned off the lights, and the studio became pitch-black.
Suddenly, a light akin to high beams was aimed directly at Daniel, and the sound of a car was also discernible.
Instinctively, Daniel sat up, his eyes squeezed shut even tighter, and he unconsciously used his hand to block the harsh light. His thoughts were immediately flooded with the scene of Charmy Bennettâs car accident. Reflexively, Daniel tried to save Charmy but caught nothing in his grasp. Under the stress of his psychological defenses, Daniel started crying.
Professor Winnie turned off the simulation of the high beams and the car noise, switched on the normal lighting, âMr. Marshall, you just re-experienced the traumatic scene. In actuality, Charmy has already passed away, and thereâs no way you could have saved her. It wasnât your fault, you donât need to blame yourself. Itâs the accident that took her away.â
Still weeping, Daniel shook his head, âNo, it was my fault. I reacted too slowly, failed to pull her away. The person who should have been hit by that car was me.â
âCharmy is no longer with us, and she wonât blame you. She would like you to live well, sheâd want you to be happy.â
âItâs my fault. I didnât protect her.â
âThatâs not the case. Charmy has her child with her, sheâll be very happy in another world also.â
Daniel remained silent, still crying, his emotional state poor. He was still deeply immersed in remorse.
