Chapter 622: 622: Go to the Hospital to See Him
He Clings to Me Every Night
Adam Howard felt Daniel Marshallâs forehead. It was really hot!
Instantly, Adam frowned, âHe stayed out in the rain all night?â
âThatâs right. No one could persuade him to come in. That woman, Olivia, ignored him and left him out there. Her attitude when she left this morning⦠so cold and unfeeling! I wanted to tell her the truth, but he wouldnât let me.â
âHeâs just trying to protect the people he cares about. Itâs a tough situation. Then again, he brought it upon himself. Heâs suffering now, but Olivia also endured the same kind of suffering. The pain is equal.â
The color drained from Simon Howardâs face, a hint of resentment flickering in his eyes, âIs this how itâs always going to be?â
After a moment, Adam responded: âTake a picture of Daniel lying in the hospital bed and send it to Valerie Howard. Tell her that Daniel has a high fever and has fainted. The doctor says thereâs a risk of pneumonia.â
âWill that work?â
Adamâs eyes glittered with a sharp light, and a deep, inscrutable expression crossed his handsome face, âKnowing Valerieâs character, sheâll definitely tell Olivia.
No matter what Oliviaâs reaction is, even if she has a heart of stone, knowing about this is better than not knowing at all. Itâs like taking a chance. If weâre lucky, and she softens, then things might take a turn for the better!â
âAfter all, youâre smarter than me, so Iâll listen to you.â
Immediately, Simon snapped a picture of Daniel and sent it to Valerie. He also repeated what Adam had said.
After a while, Valerie didnât respond or ask about Danielâs health.
Simon seemed torn and slightly confused, âDo you think Valerie will really tell her? She adores Olivia. Sheâs on Oliviaâs side, she probably wonât give us the time of day.â
Adam rolled his eyes, looking unimpressed, âTrust me, no response is good news. Also, we need to keep Danielâs hospitalization a secret, so nobody finds any excuse to create trouble.â
Simon: âI know. Iâve taken care of it. The hospital wonât leak any information.â

Valerie arrived and sat next to Olivia, immediately showing her the photos and messages her brother had sent.
âIt looks very serious, not like heâs faking it. Olivia, should we go to the hospital to see him?â
Olivia recognized the setting, it was a VIP room at ResilientCare Hospital.
If Daniel really had been in the rain for so long, him being sick would be normal.
Severe cold could potentially lead to myocarditis or pneumonia.
Oliviaâs gorgeous face showed no signs of emotion, leaving one guessing what she was thinking. However, a fleeting, almost imperceptible wave of emotion crossed her eyes.
âYour brother is taking care of him at the hospital and they have renowned doctors and a strong team on standby. He should be fine. Thereâs no need to worry.â
Valerie gawked in surprise, âOlivia, are you sure youâre not going?â
Olivia spoke with serene composure, âIâm too busy, and with so many people taking care of him, Iâm not really needed.â
âShould ⦠should I send my brother a reply, or say something?â
âWhatever you want!â
Hesitating for a moment, Valerie typed a few words and sent a message.
As soon as the notification sounded, Simon immediately checked his WeChat.
â[Wish him a speedy recovery!]â
Immediately, Simon showed Adam the screen of his phone, âCan you figure out what she means?â
Adamâs handsome face bore a devil-may-care smile, âOlivia already knows.â
âThatâs it? She isnât worried about her manâs life in the slightest?â Simonâs face turned sour, a hint of anger flaring up.
Adam smirked and said, âHaste makes waste, you need to calm down!â
