He Clings to Me Every Night
After the Director left, Michael Marshall questioned the servant right in front of Daniel Marshall.
âWhat did Mrs. Jenkins say to Grandfather today? Repeat it. What has she been saying while staying in the hospital room these days?â
Under Mr. Marshallâs stern and intimidating gaze, the servant felt a bit frightened, unconsciously trembling. He carefully glanced back and forth between Mr. Marshall and Daniel.
âMrs. Jenkins⦠she didnât say anything. She has been caring for Grandfather very attentively.â
âDid she threaten you?â
Danielâs awe-inspiring gaze exuded intense coldness. glaring at his father, he retorted, âYouâve gone too far! The Director has already said that these are sequela, resulting from the unrecovered brain damage . By pressuring the servant to blame my wife and driving her out of the hospital, do you intend to have Bella Thompson look after Grandfather? Youâve disappointed me deeply, itâs simply shameful for an elder!â
Out of anger, Michael Marshall raised his voice, sounding fierce and cold, âDo you really know what kind of woman she is? Who knows what ulterior motives she has? Ever since she entered the Marshall household, sheâs stirred up numerous conflicts and left our family in disarray, sheâs nothing but trouble.â
Suddenly, Olivia Jenkins left from the hospital room without uttering a word.
Daniel, his eyes ablaze, furious at his father exclaimed, âYou are being absolutely unreasonable!â
A few seconds later, Daniel left the hospital room in anger.
Looking at his biased father, he felt nothing but disgust.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Despite Daniel having left, Michael continued to sternly question the servant, âWhat exactly did that wench say to Grandfather? Did she instigate something?â
The servant was frightened to the point of crying and didnât dare to say anything.
Suddenly, a noise echoed from within the hospital room.
Rushing into the room, Michael saw his father glaring at him ruthlessly, âGet out, I donât want to see you.â
âDadâ¦â
âGet lost!â
Aware that agitating his father could impact his recovery, Michael had to leave the hospital room reluctantly, settling in the visitorsâ lounge.
At a stern glance from Michael, the servant tried to wipe his tears and went in to clean up the room.
â¦
Daniel caught up with Olivia and held her hand.
With a quiet composure, Olivia mustering all her resilience and anger, told Daniel, âI need some time alone.â
âMy wifeâ¦â
Suddenly, Olivia pulled her hand away from Danielâs hold, âPlease, I want to be alone.â
Daniel squinted his profound eyes, giving Olivia an intriguing look, and sincerely said, âIâm sorry, I apologize for my fatherâs behavior. Youâve been taking care of Grandfather and have shared my burden, I know youâve had a tough time. Itâs only because of you that I could focus on my work. Youâve been doing great, and I appreciate your effortsâ¦â
Olivia did not respond, and walked away stoically.
âWife, Iâll have Simon Howard drive you home.â
Without casting a backward glance, Olivia coldly walked towards the hospitalâs main entrance, completely disregarding Danielâs kindness.
Daniel remained standing in his place, his deep and soft gaze following Oliviaâs disappearing figure.
Even after Olivia had left his sight, Danielâs gaze lingered on.
With such a family and relatives, Daniel felt helpless.
His heart was aflame with unspoken anger, choking him with an indescribable discomfort.

Grace Ziegler received the results of the DNA test.
Scanning through the report, Graceâs face turned pale, overcome with grief, she started to cry.
For over twenty years, she had considered a woman as her mother with whom she had no blood relation. This cruel truth was so painful to accept!
Walking desolately, Grace failed to notice the change of traffic signal and aimlessly crossed the road.
