Jesus is the Savior of the world
Intimate Jesus
Day five
[ Main Scripture John 4:42]
Then they said to the woman, "Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world." - John 4:42 NLT
In this book of John, Jesus met a Samaritan woman. They had a conversation that changed the life of the Samaritan woman for good. When she came back from evangelizing the entire village, she was back with a message.
In John 4:42, the bible says, "Now we know that He is indeed the savior of the world."When the Samaritan told people about Jesus, they never believed much, until they personally met with Jesus. Jesus has to become real to you before He ever ministers to you. The moment He becomes real to you; He begins to manifest His presence in your life.
Jesus is the savior of the world, but He saved you alone from the world. Jesus saved you from the world. Just like He did that Samaritan woman.Jesus saves people in a one on one personal encounter.
He had to go through Samaria on the way. - John 4:4 NLT
Jesus was initially going to Galilee, but the bible says, "He had to go through Samaria on the way." Why? He knew He was going to meet the Samaritan woman at the well. In the conversation, Jesus talks about water and it would make people think He was thirsty, but He wasn't. Eventually He never drank any water but at the end of one conversation, a life was transformed!
Jesus transcends cultural backgrounds. He transcends financial issues. Jesus transcends mental illnesses. There is nothing Jesus cannot do.In the Jewish culture, Jews and Samaritans were never allowed to meet. And there was another issue just between women and men. Already Jesus had overlooked rules that had governed these people for so long.
Our cultures should not quench the presence of Jesus in our lives. Jesus is your savior today. He went to Samaria for one reason. Its amazing that He spoke to one person, and an entire village ran to Him. One woman brought about change in the whole village by talking about Jesus.
In the end, nobody cared whether or not they were Jews.Jesus is our savior. It doesn't matter what we have done in the past, He can save us. He came for people like us. We needed a savior. Then God sent Jesus.
Prayer: Father thank you for your goodness. We acknowledge your presence. We acknowledge your lordship over us. We ask that Jesus becomes more real in our lives. That He may become our savior. This we ask in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
