Jesus is the solution as you believe in Him
Intimate Jesus
Day twelve
[ Main Scripture : John 11:43]
A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha.
John 11:1 NLT
Jesus is great! And most times we miss out on the blessing of the Son of God because of unbelief. For Jesus to become all that He should be in our lives, we have to have strong faith in Him. In this chapter of John, a man had died. And he happened to be one of Jesus' closest friends. At the time of his sickness, Jesus was in another place.
What's also amazing about this story is that Jesus knew what would happen to Lazarus. He knew that Lazarus would eventually die and yet He didn't rush to do anything about it. It made me think a bit. If Jesus already knew what was going to happen. Why didn't He just stop the inevitable from happening?
You would wonder why sometimes we have to go through the most difficult things before Jesus finally solves our problem. And we can easily get worried and sad. But this portion of Scripture is encouraging in the sense that Jesus knows all about our issues. But I want us to study how Jesus does stuff.
Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.
John 11:21 NLT
I admire Martha's faith. She says, " Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died." That's strong faith. For Jesus to become all He is meant to be in our lives, we need to have faith in Him.
Jesus is always the right solution. He is always the right person to fellowship with. He is always the right person to confide in.
When Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said, "Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died."
John 11:32 NLT
Another person arrives. Lazarus' sister too. This time around its not Martha, but Mary. She says the exact thing her sister said. If only you had been here, my brother would not have died. So Jesus observes their faith in Him. And the next thing He does, is to raise Lazarus from the dead. But let's also look at what Jesus does.
Then Jesus wept.
John 11:35 NLT
Jesus wept. Weeping is different from normal crying. Why would Jesus cry if He was going to raise Lazarus back from dead? This made me see yet another thing in the character of Jesus. Jesus sympathizes with us. Your problem becomes His problem. Jesus is a compassionate person. He shared Mary's grief together with Martha and the Jews.
Because of Jesus' compassionate heart, He sympathizes with our weaknesses and all kinds of issues that trouble us. That's why we go to Him.
Then Jesus shouted, "Lazarus, come out!"Â And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, "Unwrap him and let him go!"
John 11:43â-â¬44 NLT
Jesus solved their problem. And He did it for His glory. God answers our prayers, not because we deserve it, but for His own glory.
But for the sake of my name, I brought them out of Egypt. I did it to keep my name from being profaned in the eyes of the nations among whom they lived and in whose sight I had revealed myself to the Israelites.
Ezekiel 20:9 NIV
God delivers us for His own glory.
Prayer: Father we thank you. We bless you. We acknowledge you and magnify your name. Father we ask that you increase our faith in you. That we might believe in Jesus. We believe that He can solve all of our problems. Thank you for hearing us. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
