Collecting the Teeth

I See You (Jack Frost x Reader)

Third Person P.O.V

North bellows a laugh as he bursts from one of the chimneys, "Quickly! Quickly!"

He leaps over Jack, jumping inside another chimney as Jack and (Y/N) race side by side as they approach Bunny.

Jack spins over the rabbit, laughing and casually resting his cheek on his palm.

"Hop to it, rabbit! Together, (Y/N) and I are twelve teeth ahead!" Jack smugly calls.

"I have more than you, Jack!" (Y/N) laughs, flying casually with her arm behind her head as she flicks and catches a gold coin. "Don't combine ours!"

"Yeah! Without her, you're still short, mate!" Bunny replies, hopping quickly from building to building as Jack rolls his eyes. "Look, I'd tell you to stay out of my way, but really, what's the point? 'Cause you won't be able to keep up anyway!"

(Y/N) snorts, swiftly spinning around and flying besides Jack with a grin, "is that a challenge?"

"Yeah, cotton-tail!" Jack mocks, smirking.

Bunny narrows his eyes with his own smirk as he looks between the two, "oh, you don't wanna race a rabbit, mates."

Jack and (Y/N) gasp as Bunny takes off, both nodding and grinning to each other as they race after him.

"A race?! Is it a race?" North pops out of a chimney with a wide grin, hopping into another one. "This is going to be--" he pops out of another, "epic!!"

"Four bicuspids over there!" Tooth directs, Sandy nodding as he rushes to it. "An incisor two blocks east! Is that a molar? They're everywhere--!"

She gasps and yelps in pain as she runs into a dentist billboard.

(Y/N) cringes as she peeks down at Tooth, laying her head on Jack's shoulder as he smiles at her with a soft expression.

"You okay, Tooth?" She calls, making Tooth nod as she holds her nose.

"I'm fine! Sorry," Tooth apologizes, flying up to the pair with Baby Tooth. "It's been a really long time since I've been out in the field."

"How long is a long time?" Jack questions with a raised brow and a grin.

"Never ask a lady her age," (Y/N) jokingly replies as Tooth nervously giggles.

"Well, since he asked... Four hundred and forty years, give or take," she shyly admits, gasping and pointing before rushing to another tooth.

Baby Tooth shrugs with a grin as the two look at her, Jack in confusion and (Y/N) in amusement.

...

Jack snickers as he climbs into a window, pausing when he sees Bunny and (Y/N) already inside.

Bunny laughs mockingly at Jack as he tosses the tooth to (Y/N), making Jack glare at him before freezing him.

(Y/N) sets her coin under the child's pillow with a giggle, waving to Bunny as she leaves with Jack, tossing him the tooth with a smile.

...

North flies off to his next destination in his sleigh. He grins widely as he pops up behind a bed with two sleeping girls.

"Twins!" He exclaims happily as he kisses the teeth with a laugh.

...

"Oh, jackpot!" Bunny mumbles as he scoops out five teeth from under a boy's pillow. He looks around the room at the trophies, peeking down at the boy's missing teeth. "Looks like you're a bit of a brumby, eh, mate?"

...

North cackles to himself as he approaches a girl, rubbing his hands together.

"Is piece of pie!"

"Ow!" Bunny yelps as North suddenly falls into his tunnel, both trapped.

Sandy smiles as he takes the white tooth from under the pillow, mockingly showing it off as he strolls away from the two.

"That's my tooth!" North stammers, struggling to get free. "Sandy! Sandy!"

...

Jack laughs as (Y/N) playfully shoves him, flying ahead and leaping into a window and landing.

She exclaims as she falls into one of Bunny's tunnels, making him laugh and point at her before Jack freezes him once more with a smirk and a glare.

...

Tooth tilts her head as she grabs the tail of a mouse, pulling him out from under the pillow as he squeaks in protest.

Baby Tooth kicks him from her hand, slamming him into a wall and kicking him multiple times before Tooth grabs her wings.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Take it easy there,  champ! He's one of us." Tooth explains as she looks between the two. "Part of the European division. Ca va?"

The mouse leaps to his feet, angrily squeaking and throwing his hat down.

...

Bunny snickers as he looks under a pillow, tilting his head as he sees an arrow pointing somewhere.

"Huh?"

North laughs triumphantly as Bunny looks back at him, mockingly pointing before rushing away.

...

Bunny tosses and catches a tooth with a smirk, his smile falling as he slips.

"Crikey!"

(Y/N) snatches the tooth as Bunny slips, tossing it to Jack as he laughs, "yes!"

Sandy uses his sand whip to steal the tooth, making both exclaim in protest as he flies off on his cloud.

...

North dances across a roof, hopping into another chimney with a laugh, not knowing Bunny was waiting.

Bunny chuckles, lighting a match and slowly lowering it on the fireplace.

"Ho, ho, ho."

...

North screams as he lands on the fire.

...

Tooth looks between everyone with a wide smile as they hold up their bags of teeth.

(Y/N) had a slightly smaller bag than Jack's bag, North's being the largest and Bunny and Sandy coming close.

"Wow! You guys collect teeth and leave gifts as fast as my fairies!"

Everyone deflates except for (Y/N), making her look at them with a dumbfounded expression.

"You guys didn't leave gifts?" (Y/N) questions before sighing loudly as Jack bashfully grins at her.

Sandy nods with a smile before shaking his head with a frown, the boys cringing.

Tooth sighs, thankful one of her helpers remembered.

...

Sandy collects a handful of coins, the rest waiting in line as (Y/N) and Tooth chat with each other on a rooftop, watching in amusement.

...

They go around setting coins under children's pillows, not forgetting each time they collect a tooth now.

...

North leaves candycanes when he runs out of coins, Bunny leaving three beautifully painted eggs for another child.

...

Sandy enters the room with an eager grin as he holds a coin, pausing when he sees North staring at him with an excited smile.

North bellows a laugh as he plugs in an entire Christmas tree with presents underneath, making Sandy glare at him before tossing the coin.

...

A little boy watches with wide eyes as all the fables fly past his window, dropping his sippy cup.

...

(Y/N) grins to herself as she takes a small tooth from a little girl's pillow, pausing when she hears muffled arguing from downstairs.

She stuffs the coin under the pillow, carefully opening and shutting the room door before sliding down the railing of the stairs.

An older woman and man were arguing, both hearts heavy and clouded with anger at the moment.

"All I'm saying is you could stand to spend a little more time with me," the woman grumbles to herself.

The man sighs to himself, messing up his hair in frustration.

"You know I don't understand you when you say stuff under your breath!"

"Stop yelling! Do you want to wake her up?"

(Y/N) raises a brow, aiming her bow as the arrow turns a silver color. She fires it, making it loop around the couple and disperse as they blink rapidly and calm down.

"I'm sorry, love." The man sighs, sitting at the table. "It's just... People have been quitting left and right at work so I have to pick up the slack. I promise I'll try to come home on time from now on."

"I'm sorry, too," the woman agrees, sitting next to him as she wipes away her tears of frustration. "I just... I miss you. I know it's selfish, but..."

"Be selfish," the man smiles, cupping her cheek with his palm as she sets her hand over his. "It's alright. I miss you both, too."

"And on that note, I'm gone," (Y/N) mumbles to herself, rushing back upstairs and leaving out of the girl's window.

She sighs and sits on a rooftop near them, watching through the living room window as the two share a kiss. She looks up at the Moon with another sigh, leaning back on her hands.

"Slacking off, Cupid?" A voice suddenly yells, making her shriek and nearly fall onto her side as Jack suddenly appears above her, grinning.

He laughs, sitting beside her as she playfully glares at him.

"Very funny. But remember, I'm about thirty teeth ahead of you," (Y/N) reminds, making him snicker as he looks up at the Moon. "And yes. I still have my job as Cupid, even though I'm playing the Tooth Fairy part."

Jack looks at her, following her gaze to an older couple now sitting outside on a porch bench.

"Oh," he breathes out, watching as the two hold hands with smiles. Jack frowns, looking down at (Y/N)'s hand resting on the rooftop.

"Yep. Lucky me," she bitterly replies, sighing.

"Making people fall in love is pretty cool," Jack slowly says, looking at her in concern.

"Sure it is," (Y/N) huffs, rolling her eyes.

"Is... everything okay? You've been acting weird whenever you do this. The one other time I saw," Jack cautiously questions, recalling the last time. "I mean, I know I don't seem like it, but I can be serious when I want to," he adds in a light tone, grinning.

(Y/N) heavily sighs, scooting and dangling her feet over the roof's edge as Jack sits next to her, their knees lightly touching.

"I just... I don't know why he did it." Her voice comes out weak as she clears her throat. "Why am I here? Why did Manny make me this? Cupid..." (Y/N) scoffs as Jack listens.

"I need to know why. Why I help everyone else fall in love or become happier with their lives while I'm still here alone and--" (Y/N) cuts herself off with another frustrated sigh, shaking her head and burying her face in her hands.

"You're not alone," Jack softly replies, his tone serious as she looks at him.

"Yes... I am, Jack," she looks back at the couple, gasping as he uses his hand to turn her cheek to face him before releasing it.

Jack's expression was firm, his eyes locking with hers as a small dazzling smile graces his face and he takes her hand in his.

"You have me," he pauses, watching her face turn a light shade of pink. "And I'm not going anywhere."

(Y/N)'s eyes widen as she tilts her head, processing his words.

Why does that sound so familiar...? I've heard that before.

"I-- I mean, if you want me around, I meant!" Jack stammers, unnerved by her silence. "I totally get it if you want me gone sometimes and-and... I... Wow, um... I don't think I've ever stumbled over my words before. It would be great if you said something right about now." He nervously looks around, rubbing his neck. "... (Y/N)?"

She stares at him, her thoughts running wild as she tries to come up with a response. Voices swarmed in her head as she looks down at their hands, her thoughts becoming foggy before she realizes he was still waiting for a response.

"Jack--"

"Come on, you two! Why you just sitting about?" North's voice laughs as he pops out of the chimney besides (Y/N), making her yelp in surprise before she sighs in relief. "We have teeth to get! Come, come!"

Jack rises to his feet, looking back at (Y/N) with an anxious expression.

"Let's just... Forget what I said. Okay?" He looks away as he mumbles, offering his hand to her.

She takes it, rising to her feet with his help as North curiously watches the two.

"Maybe I don't want to," (Y/N) replies in a light tone before she stands on her tippy-toes, pecking his cheek.

She smiles softly at him, sprouting her wings and quickly flying off.

Jack's eyes widen and his cheeks flush a light pink as he quickly places his hand where she kissed, North watching with raised brows and a smirk as Jack suddenly remembers he was there.

"I should, um, yeah, teeth! Gotta go find the teeth!" He stammers, quickly flying off as North chuckles to himself and shakes his head.

"Those two are good together, yes?" He questions Sandy as he lands next to him, setting his hands on his waist.

Sandy eagerly nods in agreement while silently clapping his hands, a heart and snowflake appearing above his head.

"I knew you would agree! Now, how to get them together?"

...

North's laugh echoes as he throws his snowglobe, everyone heading to another part of the world.

...

A Nightmare snorts as it watches them disappears, whinnying as it leaps off the building and dives through the sewers.
