The Last Light

Third Person P.O.V

"Okay, look," Jamie sighs heavily as he faces his stuffed bunny. "You and I are obviously at what they call a crossroads. So, here's what's gonna happen."

Jack peeks inside Jamie's window as (Y/N) sits on the edge, her powers weaker than before and her wings droopy.

"Jack... If he stops believing... I don't know what will happen to me," she whispers softly as he looks at her with wide, sad eyes. "I might become... this... shell."

"He won't stop believing," he quickly reassures, shaking his head. "I promise you, sweetheart. You're gonna be just fine," Jack replies, looking back at Jamie while biting his lip in thought.

"If it wasn't a dream... And if you are real..." Jamie leans closer as he sighs again. "Then you have to prove it. Like, right now."

"Jack..." (Y/N) hisses in pain as she grips his arm, setting her other hand on her chest as Jamie's belief wavers.

"I believed in you for a long time, okay? Like... My whole life in fact!" Jamie picks up the bunny as he stares at it. "So you kind of owe me now. You don't have to do much... Just a little sign so I know. Anything. Anything at all."

(Y/N) sighs softly as her heart trembles, and her eyes become a lifeless shade of gold as her face becomes blank and pale. Her wings once again change to a dark gray, however not completely black.

"Sweetheart?" Jack looks at her with wide eyes as he lightly grabs her shoulder. "Sweetheart? (Y/N)!"

She looks at him with a blank stare, tilting her head.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She questions, her voice monotone and voice of emotion as he gasps softly.

"No, no, no," Jack shakes his head, looking at Jamie as he sets his hand on the window.

"I knew it." Jamie tosses the bunny on the floor, staring at his bed in sadness.

The window props open, making Jack gasp softly before he looks at (Y/N).

"Come on, (Y/N). We can do this."

"What's the point?" (Y/N) shrugs, pulling her arm away as she stares off in the distance. "He'll never believe anyway. Better to just give up now. There's no point in anything."

Jack's eyes narrow as he takes her arm, pulling her inside as he climbs through. She says nothing in protest, only staring at Jamie with a frown. Jack uses his magic, frosting over Jamie's window as he looks over with a soft gasp.

Jack uses his finger to draw an egg with decorations on it, frosting over the one above it and drawing a silhouette of a girl with wings and a heart above her.

Jamie gasps as he looks down at the bunny toy, glancing back at the window as more of it frosts and he rises.

"He's real!"

(Y/N) blinks rapidly as her eyes flicker from gold to (E/C), her skin coming back to life as she rubs her eye with her wrist. Her wings glow a brilliant white in the moonlight as she stretches them out.

"Jack?" She breathes out as he looks over with a relieved smile.

"Hey, sweetheart," he chuckles with relief before concentrating, drawing a bunny with wings on its back.

(Y/N) smiles with a light laugh as she walks over, setting her hand on his as he focuses his magic and hers. Together they bring the bunny to life, Jamie exclaiming and laughing as it begins to hop around the room, the small wings fluttering on its back.

(Y/N) and Jack laugh along as it circles around them before hopping to Jamie, sniffing at him. Jamie laughs as he reaches for it, yelping in surprise as it disperses into snowflakes and golden hearts, the hearts and snowflakes scattering and falling slowly around his bedroom.

"Snow... and hearts?" Jamie mumbles as he sits down, looking around curiously.

A snowflake and heart twirl around each other before landing on his nose, making his eyebrows furrow before his face falls with realization.

"Jack Frost... and Cupid...?" He suddenly breathes out, making Jack and (Y/N) freeze in place.

"Did he just say..." Jack trails off as he looks at (Y/N).

"Jack Frost? Cupid?" Jamie calls as he slowly stands, facing away from the two.

"He-- He just said... He's saying our names," (Y/N) gasps, her eyes widening in surprise as tears form in them. "Did he-- he..."

"He's saying..." Jack shakily laughs as he shakes his head, his eyes wide as he blinks quickly. "You said..."

Jamie slowly turns around, his eyes wide as his mouth falls open. "Jack Frost and Cupid..."

"That's right!" Jack backs away as he looks at (Y/N). "But... But that's us! Jack Frost and Cupid!"

"Well... my name's actually (Y/N), but... that's-- it doesn't matter," (Y/N) shakes her head with a small smile, looking down and shrugging.

"(Y/N)?" Jamie repeats quietly as his head tilts, making Jack and (Y/N) gasp in surprise. "... Jack Frost... and (Y/N)?"

"That's her name! (Y/N)! You said her name!" Jack cries as he looks at Jamie with tears and a smile. "You-- You said our names!"

His voice breaks as he speaks breathlessly, his eyes glossed over with tears.

Jamie continues to stare at them, his eyes flickering between them as (Y/N) gasps softly.

"Wait... can you... hear us?" She slowly asks, making him slowly nod.

"C-- Can you... Can you see us?" Jack questions, stepping closer to Jamie as he nods once more with a wide smile.

Jack breathlessly laughs as (Y/N) smiles brightly, happy tears falling from her eyes as she flies in the air, twirling as she cheers.

"He sees us... he sees us!" Jack laughs, hugging her tightly as she lands.

He lets go of her, leaping backwards and landing on his desk as Jamie laughs with wide eyes.

"You just made it snow!" Jamie laughs as he looks around with awe.

"I know!" Jack grins in reply, his hands shaking with excitement.

"And you're-- you're Cupid!"

"I know," (Y/N) laughs as she turns and shows off her wings.

"You're both real?!" Jamie bounces on his bed with excitement as Jack leaps off the desk.

"Yeah!" Jack yells as he begins to pace around, giddily grinning. "Who do you think brings you all the blizzards and the snow days?"

"And who do you think helps people fall in love?" (Y/N) questions in a light tone she chuckles. "And... do you remember when you went flying on that sled the other day?" She raises a brow as she smirks Jack's way, Jamie gasping.

"That was you?!"

"Well, it was both of us, sweetheart," Jack reminds (Y/N), making her scoff lightly as Jamie looks between the two.

Jamie blinks slowly, his mouth parting in awe. "Whoa... Are you two, like... a thing?"

"We sure are!" Jack proudly replies, dramatically throwing his arm around (Y/N) as she blushes with an embarrassed laugh.

"Cool!"

"Right?!" Jack laughs, hugging (Y/N) as she grins with a chuckle.

"What--what about the Easter Bunny? And the Tooth Fairy?! I-I mean--"

"Real, real, and oh, my goodness real!" (Y/N) interrupts with a wide grin as Jamie bounces in excitement. "Every one of us is real."

Jack picks up his bunny as Jamie firmly jumps with a triumphant smile, "I knew it!"

"Jamie? Who are you talking to?" A voice calls from downstairs, making Jamie gasp and flinch.

(Y/N) smiles, nodding as Jamie looks at them. Jack smirks, tilting his head in encouragement to reply.

"Um... Jack Frost and his girlfriend Cupid?" Jamie calls back truthfully, smiling sheepishly.

His mom pauses for a moment before chuckling, "Okay."

Jamie giggles as Jack and (Y/N) laugh, their smiles instantly gone as Jamie's windows slam open.

The wind blows restlessly outside as thunder bellows across the sky, the sky black and cloudy.

"Pitch," (Y/N) hisses, glaring outside as Jack rushes to the window.

Jamie leaps off his bed, staying at (Y/N)'s side as he looks between the two with uncertainty.

North's sleigh flies out of control, North yelling frantically.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!"

The sleigh rams into the ground, the metal scraping against the street before the reindeer break free, running away.

"Ah, moi deti! Come back!" North desperately yells as he sits up, swaying.

"North, are you okay?" Tooth questions as she peeks her head up, helping him stand.

"Is official. My powers are kaput."

North gasps as Tooth releases him, falling back as she sees Jack.

"Look!" Tooth gasps with a smile as Jack flies to them. "Jack!" She tries flying, falling to the ground before rising with a weak smile.

"Are you okay?" He softly questions as she looks away, shaking her head before gasping.

"Wait-- where's (Y/N)? She went after you--!"

"I'm here," (Y/N) greets with a laugh as she lands next to Jack, Jamie behind her.

"Your wings!" North smiles as he walks forward, using his sword as a walking stick. "What are you two doing here?"

"Same as you," Jack smiles, looking back at (Y/N) as she folds her wings.

Jamie looks at North and Tooth in awe, a wide smile on his face.

"The last light," North stumbles forward with a weak chuckle.

"Wow! It is you... I mean, it is you!" Jamie laughs as he rushes towards North. North offers his hand with a fond smile as Jamie laughs, touching it before looking back at Jack and (Y/N). "I knew it wasn't a dream!"

Tooth gasps softly as a smile forms on her lips, North looking up at Jack and (Y/N) with a grin.

"Jack... (Y/N)... He sees you," North softly says, a hint of pride in his voice as he nods at the two.

Jack playfully nudges Jamie's shoulder as (Y/N) walks next to him, ruffling Jamie's hair as he giggles.

"Wait... Where's Bunny?" Jack suddenly questions, making (Y/N) gasp softly.

"Yeah! I don't see him," she agrees, walking over to the sleigh.

"Losing Easter... took its toll on all of us," North sighs, looking back as (Y/N)'s eyes widen at a somewhat familiar bunny. "Bunny most of all."

"No way," she breathes out as Bunny sighs, leaping onto the side of the sleigh.

"Oh, no." Jack groans as Bunny hops onto the wing, his nose twitching.

He was much, much, much smaller now. The same size as a normal bunny, in fact. His colors and fur were still the same, only now he was more... adorable.

Jamie laughs as he walks over, his brow raised. "That's the Easter Bunny?"

"Now somebody sees me!" Bunny scoffs as he rises to his feet, scowling. "Where were you about an hour ago, mate?!"

"What happened to him?" Jamie questions with disappointment as (Y/N) walks back to Jack, looking at North with raised brows. "He used to be huge and cool!"

Bunny's ears droop as he sighs with a frown, Jamie continuing.

"And now he's..." He rubs under Bunny's chin, making his leg bounce. "Cute."

"Did you tell him to say that?" Bunny demands, smacking Jamie's hands away before running at Jack. "That's it! Let's go, me and you!"

"Wait, wait, Bunny, no! He didn't," (Y/N) picks him up by his scruff as he thrashes against her hold.

"He told me you were real!" Jamie quickly says as she sets Bunny down. "Just when I started to think... That maybe you weren't."

"He made you believe?" Bunny softly questions as he looks over at Jack. "In me?"

Jamie nods with a smile as Bunny looks at Jack, his nose twitching as he smiles. Jack grins back, hugging (Y/N) around her shoulders as she chuckles softly.

Her blood suddenly runs cold as she gasps, thunder cracking across the sky as she looks up at the blocked Moon.

"Pitch."
