Chapter 994
Sweet Subterfuge
âMy wife,â Kevan said again.
He stared at her, and his eyes were twinkling.
Although it was not the first time he had called her wile. Larissa still blushed anyway.
She purposely looked away and put a hand over her racing heart as she retorted weakly. âWeâre not married yet, donât randomly call me that!
âThereâs something I keep forgetting to tell you.â
Kevan had a smirk on his face while his eyes were slightly narrowed. He looked like a fox.
Larissaâs heart skipped a beat and she got nervous. âWhat?â
âCome here.â Kevan called her, and his low voice was like the voice of a siren.
Larissa could not help but take two steps forward.
When she reached a range where Kevan could touch her, he reached up at once and pulled her into his arms.
Larissa screamed as she fell onto the soft bed, her back slamming against Kevanâs firm chest.
Kevan hugged her tightly, and his breaths puffed against her cheek.
Larissa was already used to the way he hugged her, and she did not feel uncomfortable.
She only glared at him and grumbled, âCanât you be gentler next time?â
It sounded more coy than anything else.
âSure.â Kevan was very easy to talk to right now.
His gentleness also made Larissa think that she was dreaming.
âDid I hurt you?â He looked down at her wist which was red from his grip.
Larissaâs heart was racing.
She looked up at him seriously.
She was able to see the love in his eyes.
For some odd reason, she said, âMy husband.â
Kevan froze. He slowly looked up at her in shock.
His mouth hung open a little, and he looked funny like that.
âSâSay that again!â He was so excited that he could not even speak properly, His joy was about to shoot through the rool.
Larissa blushed harder. She wanted to avoid this subject by pretending to be dumb, but Kevan did not give her that chance.
âSay that again.â He held her shoulders and forced her to face him. âGood girl say that again.â
Larissa decided to just throw herself into his arms and hug him tightly. She buried her face into his neck.
âMy husband,â she mumbled very quietly. But Kevan heard her anyway.
He smiled like an idol.
It took Larissa a while to recollect herself before she remembered. âDidnât you say you had something to tell me?â
Her head was still against his shoulder, and she only tilted her head a little to look at him, âActually-â Kevan gripped her arms to prevent her from âattackingâ him âviolentlyâ later when she get angry.â
because we never got divorced in the first place.â
He said it all in a single breath, and he did not pause in the middle at all.
âWe donât need to get married Larissa froze again. âWâWhat?â She could understand every single word that he said, but when they were together in a sentence, she did not understand a thing.
