Chapter 946
Sweet Subterfuge
They made reservations for dinner at a private dining restaurant.
It was said that this restaurant only accepted reservations from regular customers. There was a daily limit of ten tables.
Before entering the restaurant, Larissa checked her wallet sheepishly.
âWhatâs wrong?â Kevan asked when he saw the uneasy expression on her face.
Larissa put on a nonchalant smile and shook her head.
Dylan and Sharon had arrived ahead of them.
They were already seated in the private room.
Kevan held Larissaâs hand and they en entered the private room together.
Dylan seemed to be intrigued when he saw their hands intertwined with each other.
âYou two.â He scrutinized Kevanâs and Larissaâs faces back and forth, trying to find out why they seemed so close.
Kevanâs expression remained calm. He maintained a reserved demeanor throughout.
On the other hand, Larissa felt embarrassed under his intense scrutiny.
She lowered her head to avoid his gaze.
Sharon tugged on Dylanâs sleeve and gestured for him to stop. âLetâs order quickly, Iâm starving!â She pushed the menu toward them.
There was a round table in the private room. It was large enough for five or six people.
Kevan pulled out the chair opposite Dylan and Sharon, He gestured for Larissa to sit and he took the chair next to her. He handed the menu to Larissa and spoke tenderly, âTake a look at what you would like to eat.â
Surprised by Kevanâs actions, Dylan spat out the water he had drunk.
Kevan rolled his eyes at him disapprovingly.
Dylan quickly took some tissue and wiped the table clean. With a smile, he explained, Tm sorry. Iâm just not used to this.â
Hearing that Kevan shot him a glare. The warning in his eyes was evident.
Larissa was still caught up in her own embarrassment and didnât notice the pointed looks between the two.
She pushed the menu back to Sharon and said, âMs. Davis, why donât you pick the dishes? This meal is meant to treat you.â
âCalling me Ms. Davis sounds too formal. You can just call me Sharon, or even Shay.â Sharon said with a frown.
Larissa readily agreed. âShaton.â
Dylan spoke up suddenly, âYou let her call you Shay? How come you never asked me to call you that?â
Sharon retorted. âI never stopped you from doing sol Dylan said in a hull, âWell, Iâm not going to call you that.â
Sharon snorted, âSuit yourself.â
Their childish interactions left Larissa bewildered Both of them were not inherently childish people, but they seemned to bring out the childish sides of each other whenever they were together.
Larissa thought that the electrifying chemistry between them could only be because of love.
Sharon wasnât too picky and placed an order quickly. She even considered everyoneâs food preferences.
Larissa was about to praise her when Dylan snatched the menu from Sharonâs hands, mullering. âYou didnât even order what I like!â
However, she assumed that Sharon already knew about it perfectly.
âDonât you have hands and a mouth? Canât you order it yourself?â Sharon glared at him and complained. âYouâre leeching off my meal, and you are still being a nuisance!
Since Larissa knew the inside story, she quietly poured herself a cup of tea and sipped it.
Throughout the meal, the round table was divided into two sides.
On one side, it was warm and harmonious. The other side was full of heated arguments.
