Chapter 905
Sweet Subterfuge
Upon seeing Wendy. Edmundâs blank eyes brightened up immediately. He forced a pained but ugly smile onto his face. âWendy! You camel âHe was quite happy.
âYeah.â Wendy was just as professional as Larissa when it came to take smiling.
Edmund did not notice anything amiss. After he asked after her he anxiously moved into the main topic.
âYou said you wanted to drop the case before âI went to the police station.â Wendy held the hand that Edmund reached out as she forced down the feelings of disgust. âHut the police said that I was not the one who made the case. so I canât be the one to drop it.â Wendy acted appropriately sad, helpless, and hurl Edmund fraze before he asked, âYou didnât find Larissa?
âI wonât find Larissa ever again!â Wendy gritted her leeth as she said angrily. âShe and Kevan made you end up like this. Whenever I think of her name, I get disgusted! I have already decided to stop being friends with her!â
Edmund was a little panicked. âBut If you donât find her, how are you going to get the case dropped?â
âEdmund, Iâve thought about it.â Wendy could not stand for long, so she took a chair and sat near the bed. âInstead of going to find Larissa and beg her to drop the case, why donât we find a lawyer and countersue them instead?
âThe police told me that when Kevan reported the case, he used you kidnapping Larissa as the reason.
But you didnât kidnap her at all, right? So, we wil sue them for making a false police report, wasting resources, as well as ruining your reputation.â
Edmund thought that Wendy would go back and have a big gfight with Larissa, forcing Larissa to go to the police station and drop the case.
After all from all the information he got Wendy was Larissaâs best friend, and Larissa could knowingly throw herself into a trap for Wendyâ
To Edmund Larissa would definitely agree to Wendyâs âlittleâ request. But he never expected things to go wrong on Wendyâs end. He did not think that Wendy would abandon her friendship with Larissa for several years because of Fimâto the point that she refused to even go.
ind Larissa.
âThis fucking stupid idiot of a woman,â Edmund sneered to himsell coolly, but he still had to act like he was soothing Wendy.
âIsnât this not too good of a thing? He pretended to think for Wendyâs sake. âYouâve been friends with Larissa for so long. Even if there are some unhappy things, you have no need to turn things into such a bad state, huh?
âTruth be told, itâs not Larissaâs fault that I ended up like thisâitâs all Kevanâs lault. Donât blame Larissa for everything.â
âDidnât you say that Kevan beat you because he wanted to warn you to stay away from Larissa?â
Wendy used Edmundâs own words to shut him up. âSo, in other words, this whole thing started because of Larissa, if it werenât for her, Kevan would not have beaten you up.â
âIt might not be true.â Edmund anxiously retorted. âKevan hates me anyway. He can lind any reason to beat me up. Itâs the same even without Larissaâ
Wendy frowned hard and looked at Edmund in conlusion. âThen what do you mean? Do you want me to be good friends with Larissa again?
Edmund was worned that Wendy might hate the idea as well as get suspicious of him. So he looked down and pretended to act weak. âNo I just donât want you to lose your best friend because of me.â
a âYouâre wrong.â Wendyâs gaze was lim. âOnce Larissa allowed Kevan to heal you and make à lalse police report on you, Thad already lost her. You donât need to feel guilty. Iâve already found a lawyer. I believe that this thing will be solved this month. When that happens, Iâll go back to Caldor with you, along with our child!
*This âEdmund had a lot of things he wanted to say but could not say. He just wanted Larissa to drop the case for the sake of maintaining her friendship with Wendy and letting ham have a way to live.
Now that Wendy has made the whole thing worse, forget his lies getting exposed at count. If he pissed Kevan off againâEdmund might be Just as good as dead.
âHow about never mind? Letâs forget it?â
