Chapter 118
Sweet Subterfuge
When the door closed, Kevan set his cutlery down on the table.
âArenââ Before Dylan could finish his sentence, Kevan discarded all the remaining lood into the trash can, including the lobster he had peeled.
âHey!â Cylan exclaimed, but it was too late for him to step Kevan.
âIf you donât want to eat it, you can give it to me,â Dylan complained.
However, Kevan ignored him and cleaned the table with a cold expression. Once he was done, he put all the plates into the sink. Then, he turned on the lap and washed away the dirt on his hands.
He pointed at the sink and told Dylan, âYouâre responsible for washing the dishes.â
After saying that. Kevan went to take a shower. Dylan was still there when he came out, silting on the sola and watching TV. Kevan noticed that the sink was new empty.
Kevan draped the lowel around his neck and asked impatiently, âWhy are you still here?
Dylan crossed his legs and adopted a serious expression. âI need to teach you a lesson,â he declared.
âWhat lesson?â
âA lesson on how to pursue a woman.â
âThereâs no need for that.â Kevan turned to leave.
Dylan quickly grabbed at his clothes to stop him from leaving as he asked. âDo you want to be single forever?
Kevan regarded him with a teasingly ambiguous expression and replied. âI have you.â
That comment made Dylan shudder in fear, and he promptly covered his chest in a protective gesture.
Kevan laughed and proceeded to walk ahead. âTel me how to pursue a woman when you get a wile yourself.â
Dylan almasi choked but swiftly found a reason to provoke him, âAlthough Iâm not experienced in love, Iâm far more capable than you. At least Iâm not stubborn and unwilling to express my true feelings. You can never pursue a girl like that!â
Instantly, Kevan came to a hall and his gaze turned cold âHow do you know I never expressed my feelings?â
His hands clenched into fists inside his pockets. It was because he had been disappointed before and lost the confidence to take the next step. Until he was certain of Larissaâs feelings, he wouldnât take the initiative to express his feelings for her.
Dylan was aware of their shared history from when they were younger but he never truly understood what Kevan had been through, Perhaps, he had underestimated the complexities of relationships. With a resigned sigh, he conceded, âAlright then. No lesson from me.
Iâm going back.â
As he was changing into his shoes, he glanced at the shoe cabinet and noticed the car key. He turned to Kevan and asked. âDid you drive the new car today?
Kevan didnât understand what he meant. Dylan twired the car key and asked, âHowâs the new car?â
When Kevan caught sight of the car logo on the key, he narrowed his eyes and walked over. âWhere did you find it?â
Dylan was taken aback. âOn the shoe cabinet. Didnât you put it here?â
Kevanâs gaze darkened, feeling forlorn. Then, he tumed back and said, âTake it. Itâs yours now.â
âHuh?â Dylan was stunned.
No matter how afraid Larissa was of Yvette, she still had to go to work. The next day, she discreetly entered the hotel through the back door. She quickly found an excuse to have someone check her office. Once she was sure Yvette wasnât there, she went up.
