Chapter 106
Sweet Subterfuge
Wiping the smile off his lace, Officer Sanders lipped through the les in front of him.
âItâs like this.â he cleared his throat and began. âWe are Investigating the reason behre Trads suicide.
We know that you are his wife, and we are quite aware of the situation between you two, so you donât have to explain lac much. However, since you would know him better than anybody else. I wanted to ask it Travis ever mentioned having any suicidal thoughts to you. Did he complain about anything to you? Did you notice any changes in his mood?â
âIâm sorry.â Larissa couldnât answer any of his questions. We have been separated for quite some time now. I only saw him once when he had an accident and was admitted to the hospital. There has been no contact between us since.â
âI see.â Officer Sanders raised an eyebrow and made a note of it. âHis family believes that the content of your livestreams provoked him and drove him to take his own life, Do you have anything to say about that? He lifted his head and stared at Larissa with a steely gaze.
This was the first time Larissa had been interrogated by the police as a suspect. She couldnât help feeling nervous Licking her dry lips, she opened her mouth to defend herself when Dylan cut in. âFirst cl al, Travis had been staying at the victory General Hospital at this while. Less than five channels are available on television in their wards. This could only mean that he didnât have any means to access Larissaâs livestreams. Thus, itâs impossible for him to be provoked by her content. Secondly, someone might have been talking about it which allowed Travis to overhear it, but that has nothing to do with Larissa, Thirdly, even if he did watch Larissaâs Ivestreams and subsequently committed suicide Larissaâs actions would not constitule a crime. Her intention in doing that livestream was to clarily facts and not to provoke him to kill himself. If you insist on her being gully because of this, Travisâ parents would be the real culprits, Larissa wouldnât have done that livestream they didnât appear on that episode of The Mediators Room.â
Larissa had not introduced Dylan to Officer Sanders narier, so he assumed Oylan was just a regular friend accompanying her.
Surprised by Dylanâs meticulous analysis, Office Sanders couldnât help but view him in a new light.
âWho is this?â he asked Larissa.
Oyian introduced himself. Iâm Dylan Shields, and I am Ms. Seymourâs legal representativeâ
âOh,â Officer Sanders responded with a smile. âItâs no wonder.â
âSince it has been determined that Travisâ death was a suicide and Ms. Seymour has nothing to do with it, can we stop coming to the police station in the future? Dylan asked.
âUnless there are any new updates to the case, we wonât bother you anymore. However, Travisâ family probably wonât give up.â Officer Sanders lett a migraine coming on whenever the topic was brought up.
âActually, Iâm more inclined to believe that they drove Travis to his death. If I had family members who were such lunatics, Id probably end up committing suicide too.â
Dylan chuckled. âWho knows, maybe you hit the nai, on the head.â
Oncer Sanders said with a wry smile. âWell I advise you to spend some money and get rid of them. Of course, Iâm just giving you a suggestion. Il you donât mind them showing up at your doorstep every day and causing trouble, then forget I said anything.â
âIn this matter, we definitely wonât back down. Otherwise, theyâll think Larissa is gully and will hound her for the rest of her life.â Dylan replied firmly. âBy the way, you police officers shouldnât always try to smooth things over. Itâs pointless. If they resort la extreme actions. we will report it to the police. At that point, we hope you will handle it impartially instesc of asking us to settle it privately.â
Officer Sanders seemed a little embarrassed by Dylanâs sarcastic remarks.
âIâm just trying to help you. If you donât want to take my advice, then forget it,â he crumbled.
Alter leaving the police station, Larissa asked Dylan, âDonât you think you were too harsh on Officer Sanders?â
