Chapter 267: Unplanned Meeting (2)

Ji Han-Seok, Je-Woon and Kang Ra-Eun’s family sat together on the couch.

“Where’s Yi-Seo?” asked Kang Ra-Hyuk.

“She went to the kitchen to get us some drinks. She’ll be back soon.”

As soon as Ra-Eun finished her sentence, Seo Yi-Seo brought a large tray filled with drinks and cookies and set them down on the table. Ra-Hyuk asked if she needed help, but she shook her head.

“You’re our guest today, so just stay seated, oppa.”

In the meantime, Ji Han-Seok and Je-Woon showered Ra-Eun’s father with their gifts.

“Sir. Je-Woon and I bought this red ginseng juice and nutritional supplements for you. You work a labor-heavy job, so energy supplementation is crucial.”

“Oh, you shouldn’t have...”

The two men had bought gifts far more expensive than the housewarming gift that Ra-Eun’s family had brought. Ra-Eun’s father had simply visited to congratulate her on the move and to give her their gift, but had ended up receiving gifts instead.

Ra-Eun sighed while bearing witness to their gift shower and said, “I told them that it’s okay so many times, but they were insistent on getting you something.”

Han-Seok and Je-Woon replied immediately.

“How could we possibly greet your father empty-handed?”

“For our very first meeting, no less. Wouldn’t you agree, sir?”

They were already famous for being kind to their acquaintances, but they were being excessively kind to Ra-Eun’s father. Every action had a purpose; there was a reason why they were being so assertive, and it was obviously because they liked Ra-Eun. Having no idea of this, Ra-Eun’s father thought about whether to accept the gift or not. It was difficult to accept their good intentions due to the pressure. However, Han-Seok and Je-Woon continued to say that it was alright.

“We’re giving these to you because we want to, so please don’t feel pressured by it. Right, Han-Seok?”

“Je-Woon is right, sir. If you need anything other than a gift, please just say the words and we will get it ready for you.”

Ra-Eun’s father quickly waved his hands in refusal.

“No, I don’t want anything in particular... I just want you to keep treating my daughter well. That will be more than enough for me.”

The request was a cinch for the two men. Even without his request, Han-Seok and Je-Woon were already treating Ra-Eun very well. However, their idea of treating her well might be a little different from what Ra-Eun’s father had in mind.

After a short chit chat, Ra-Eun continued the house tour that had been put on hold. She had realized that having Ra-Hyuk and their father come at this time wasn’t a bad idea at all.

‘I won’t have to do another house tour, so that’s good for me.’

Her family members stayed shocked during the entire house tour.

“I’ve never seen a house with a garden before. You could get a few people here and play football.”

That was how wide the garden was.

“Did you tend to it after you moved here?” Ra-Hyuk asked.

“We’ve only been here a few days. How would we have time to tend to the garden when we’re not even finished unpacking yet?”

“Then did the previous house owner tend to it before they left?”

“Yeah, I guess.”

Ra-Hyuk scanned the garden again as Ra-Eun answered him.

“The previous house owner must’ve taken great care of this house.”

Ra-Eun nodded and replied, “Yeah. They gardened as a hobby.”

“Really? Who was it?”

Ra-Hyuk wondered if they were also a celebrity. Ra-Eun shrugged.

“You don’t need to know.”

She did not want to say his name out loud.

The house was so big that it took quite a lot of time for each house tour. Ra-Eun’s father wanted to spend a bit more time with his daughter, but it had gotten so late that they needed to head home soon. He also had plans tomorrow.

“We should go soon, Ra-Hyuk.”

“Should we? Oh, look at the time.”

Time flew by in an instant as they were looking around Ra-Eun’s home.

“Dad and I will get going, lil’ sis.”

“Already?”

“I told you over the phone that we were just coming for a short visit.”

They had checked for themselves that Ra-Eun was doing well, so that was more than enough. Yi-Seo, along with Han-Seok and Je-Woon, joined Ra-Eun in sending them off. Ra-Eun’s father laughed awkwardly as he saw the two men.

“You two don’t have to go through the trouble of coming out.”

“Nonsense, sir. How could we just stay seated when you’re about to go?”

“Please have a safe trip home, sir. Oh, and please take this...” Han-Seok said as he took something out of his pocket. “This is my card. You’ve heard from Ra-Eun that I am a director of Do-Dam Group, haven’t you? Please save my number, just in case. I will come running to your aid whenever you need it.”

Not to lose, Je-Woon also wrote down his number and handed it to Ra-Eun’s father.

“I would love to meet you again one day, sir.”

“Haha, thank you both.”

Neither Han-Seok nor Je-Woon were the kinds of people to give their contact information to people that they’d only met for the first time, but it was a completely different story if that person was the father of the woman that they liked.

Ra-Hyuk got in the car to start the ignition. Ra-Eun lightly knocked on the driver seat window, and asked as Ra-Hyuk rolled down the window.

“How long are you gonna be driving this thing around?”

“Huh? What’s wrong with it?”

“What do you mean? It’s way too old. Shouldn’t you get a new one soon?”

The mileage was fairly high, and its production year was pretty long ago. Ra-Hyuk was better off getting a new one like Ra-Eun had mentioned.

“I’ll buy you one, so just let me know which one you want when you get home,” Ra-Eun said.

“Forget it. This one is perfectly fine.”

“Just accept it when your sister is saying that she’ll buy it for you. I’m only saying this because I’m in a good mood. You won’t get a cent from me later.”

Ra-Eun had successfully landed a clean punch of revenge on Kim Han-Gyo through this move, so she had been in an incredibly good mood lately. Ra-Hyuk also felt that her expression was a lot brighter than before.

“Well, then... okay. I’ll look into it.”

“Put in a good word to Dad as well. His car is the one that needs a replacement the most.”

Despite his daughter being a successful celebrity and businesswoman, Ra-Eun’s father was still driving around a fifteen-year-old domestic vehicle, which really bothered Ra-Eun.

“I’ll try, but I won’t guarantee that I’ll succeed.”

Ra-Eun did not have her hopes up either. Considering his obstinacy back when he wouldn’t move houses, switching cars likely wouldn’t be much easier.

Ra-Hyuk wanted to ask his little sister something before their father got in the car.

“Ra-Eun. Just curious...”

Ra-Eun put her ear closer as Ra-Hyuk whispered. She hesitated for a moment to answer his question, but decided to answer after much thought.

“...Yeah.”

She affirmed his suspicions. Ra-Hyuk smiled meaningfully as his suspicions were confirmed.

“So popular, my lil’ sis.”

“Shut up and get out of here.”

“Okay, fine. Make sure you lock the door. Oh, and no matter how close to them you are, don’t let them stay too late. It’ll worry me.”

“I know.”

Ra-Eun knew to do that much. And with that, the car with Ra-Hyuk and their father in it quickly drove out of the complex. Their father spoke as soon as they entered a ring road.

“Ra-Hyuk. About those two boys earlier.”

“Han-Seok and Je-Woon?”

“Yeah. I might just be overthinking it, but...” their father hesitated to continue, but did after much thought. “Do they perhaps like Ra-Eun?”

“Oh, how did you know?”

“Well, they were being excessively kind to us. Did you feel it too?”

“Yes, so I asked Ra-Eun if those two like her, and she said yes.”

Their father chuckled and reacted subtly, “It’s nice that they think so well of my baby girl, but...”

“You don’t feel very good if those thoughts are indecent desires?”

“No, well... The two of them seemed like kind people. And they’re extremely famous, aren’t they?”

“Yes. One is a globally famous, not domestically famous, idol, and the other is the grandson of the Do-Dam Group chairman and is even an actor.”

“My baby girl sure is blessed to be loved by such amazing people.”

“I don’t know about that. Wouldn’t you say that they’re the blessed ones?” Ra-Hyuk replied. “Ra-Eun is wasted on them.”

Others aside, in Ra-Hyuk’s perspective, he had no intention of letting someone have his little sister so easily, even if they were the most famous and wealthy person in the world. Their father also felt the same way.

Ra-Eun got up early in the morning and pulled back the window curtain. The morning sun rays shot through the window. She felt like she was being healed by the greenery of the garden first thing in the morning.

“I’ve always been curious about how it would feel to wake up here in the morning.”

Her curiosity had finally been sated. She had slept in the guest room in her past life, and the view was nowhere near as great as this. Ra-Eun had always wanted to start the day off while seeing this view.

‘I guess my wish has been fulfilled thanks to my revenge.’

As she got out of bed, her baggy T-shirt naturally slid down and covered her thin lower body. She went out into the living room, and was greeted by Yi-Seo in an apron.

“Good morning. I’m making sandwiches. Would you like some?”

“Yeah.”

Ra-Eun nodded drowsily, which Yi-Seo found to be rather cute. She told Ra-Eun to wait a few minutes. Just then, the intercom rang. Ra-Eun went to it in place of Yi-Seo who was in the kitchen.

“Who is it so early in the morning?”

As soon as she checked the intercom screen...

“...!”

...Her face froze. The man on the screen introduced himself in a deep voice.

- Good morning. I am Park Eun-Soo, the head of Congressman Kim Han-Gyo’s security team.
