Chapter 910 - Just An Innocent Comment

Liu Qian’s lips twitched when he heard Huo Yao’s comment. It felt a little annoying to hear this coming from her mouth since she was just a freshman.

Even though Jiang Mingyue did her utmost not to take it to heart, she was clearly angry.

Jiang Mingyue was unable to suppress herself, so she put down the apparatus in her hands and walked over to Huo Yao.

She took the revised experiment plan from Huo Yao’s hands. “You are just a freshman. What would you know about this experiment? Did you know how hard we worked for it? Do you know how much effort we put into it?”

The atmosphere in the laboratory instantly became intense when Jiang Mingyue exploded.

Liu Qian and the other team members were caught by surprise.

Jiang Mingyue was furious. The more she looked at Huo Yao, the angrier she felt. Before Huo Yao had the chance to speak, she said infuriatingly, “Before you judge our work, you really need to consider whether you have the right to do so.”

It was repulsive to hear it from Huo Yao since she was not an expert in the field. Even if she wanted attention, shouldn’t she at least think before she judged?

“Jiang Mingyue, I don’t think Huo Yao meant to be rude. It was just an innocent comment.” After Liu Qian snapped out of his shock, he hurriedly explained.

His words completely failed to appease Jiang Mingyue. Instead, her fury shot straight up. Since he was a teacher, she did not speak as rudely to him.

“Mr. Liu, I am afraid I don’t agree with you. After all, we specialize in different fields, so it is basic manners to stay out of each other’s work.”

Jiang Mingyue glanced at Huo Yao mockingly before she continued. “This so-called innocent comment is simply brainless.”

Jiang Mingyue had just made a personal attack. Liu Qian frowned. “Since you have come up with the thesis, why can’t people form an opinion about it?”

This unwritten rule to stay out of someone else’s research only applied to members of different fields. Since they were both from Biology, this rule did not apply.

After all, both of them were from the Biology department.

Jiang Mingyue pursed her lips and sneered. “Question is, does she even understand what we are doing?”

She was just a layman. How could she make such a mindless comment? Did she want to embarrass herself?

Liu Qian glanced at Huo Yao. He had invited her to observe the experiment, so even if she made an innocent mistake and said something, he defended her. Otherwise, this young woman might end up being traumatized by the event.

Liu Qian put on a serious face as he contemplated. Just as he was about to speak, the other people in the laboratory tried to smooth things over.

“Mr. Liu, sorry about that. Please don’t take it to heart. Jiang Mingyue was just venting some steam. We have worked on this revised experiment plan for days and even asked Mu Qing to help. Now that we have finally finished it, someone poured cold water on it, so she can’t help feeling upset. I’m sure you can understand.”

“Uh huh. It is no big deal for people to have different opinions in the academic field. It is just a minor hitch. Why don’t we continue working on it?”

“That’s right. Why don’t we start doing the experiment?”

The rest of their members were worried that the situation would escalate further, so they quickly apologized to Liu Qian and pulled Jiang Mingyue aside.

In reality, they were also very displeased with what Huo Yao said. Since a teacher was present, it was a bad time to show it on their faces.

Jiang Mingyue’s fury dissipated slightly after everyone tried to mediate, so she stopped looking at Huo Yao angrily. Instead, she composed herself and bowed to Liu Qian slightly. “Mr. Liu, my apologies. I got carried away. Please don’t take it to heart.”
