Chapter 907 - Lei Xiao’s Secret Friend

“Xiao, how could you do that? Didn’t we swear to stay single for the rest of our lives?” said his colleague in a jealous tone.

Lei Xiao glanced at his colleague sideways and corrected him solemnly. “Put away your dirty thoughts. My genius friend called me out for dinner!”

Most of the people in the research institute knew about Lei Xiao’s brilliant acquaintance. A couple of years ago, this friend of his even helped him solve a tricky problem. However, no one had ever seen Lei Xiao’s friend.

The director of the research institute had mentioned several times about hiring Huo Yao, but Lei Xiao repeatedly refused to help pass the message. Everyone could not help feeling curious about the person’s identity.

“Does your friend need more sidekicks?” asked his colleague after clearing his throat.

Lei Xiao instantly replied. “Impossible. Don’t even think about it.”

His colleague twitched his lips powerlessly.

Lei Xiao did not want to waste time hanging around. “That’s enough. I have to go.”

The moment he finished his sentence, he retrieved his car keys from the drawer and wanted to leave the office. A thought crossed his colleague’s mind, so he called after Lei Xiao. “Well, why don’t you show our latest research about decomposition reaction to your friend and see if the person has any suggestions for us?”

Lei Xiao paused briefly before raising his head to look at him. “I think it is a bad idea. She probably isn’t free.”

“Fine.” Although his colleague was disappointed, he did not insist further and simply waved to Lei Xiao.

Lei Xiao arrived at Huo Yao’s address 50 minutes later and found that it was the entrance of a villa district.

Since he was a local, he knew this district was particularly expensive and only the richest and most powerful people could afford to live here.

He did not expect Huo Yao to come from a rich family.

Lei Xiao pondered as he looked at the entrance.

Huo Yao was already waiting at the roadside. She was dressed casually and no one would guess looking at her that she was a genius.

Lei Xiao pulled up by the roadside and undid the seatbelt. He got off the car, and walked up in front of Huo Yao.

He had already cleaned himself up before driving over using the toiletries he had in his car, so he did not seem particularly disheveled now.

“I was busy in the afternoon and electronic devices aren’t allowed in the lab,” explained Lei Xiao.

Huo Yao nodded understandingly. “It’s fine.”

“Oh yes. What do you need me to help you with?” asked Lei Xiao hurriedly.

“Uh huh.” Huo Yao wasted no time and handed Lei Xiao a blue box. “This is a blood specimen.”

Lei Xiao took the blue box and said in surprise without opening it, “A blood specimen? Do you want it tested?”

“That’s right. I want a full blood analysis of the sample.” Huo Yao nodded. “The equipment at school isn’t good enough and could only give me generic results.”

Lei Xiao was surprised by her request. Only very unusual blood would require such detailed results.

Since Huo Yao was requesting a full analysis, the blood sample must be very special.

“I will complete the blood analysis by tonight,” said Lei Xiao.

Huo Yao raised her brow as she glanced at his dark eye rings and said, “There is no hurry. You can work on it when you are free.”n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

“Okay,” acknowledged Lei Xiao. He finally had the chance to repay Huo Yao’s favor, so he was determined to get this done as soon as possible.

“Thanks.” Huo Yao nodded before checking the time on her watch and said, “I suppose you must be busy, so I shall not hold you up anymore.”
