That man brought Preeti to a deserted field and pushed her towards the ground.

Preeti turned her face and looked at him, her eyes widened with surprise. Gaurav was standing in front of her. Although

Gaurav had gulaal on his face, but still Preeti recognized him well.

Preeti shouted, “Gaurav, how dare you. Why have you brought me here?”

“To play Holi. I did not celebrate Holi with my wife today, that is why I brought her here to play Holi with my wife. I had gone to your house, but you had gone to that Sanjay Malhotra's party, then I could not meet you. That is why I have brought you here. Look, there is no one here except you and me. We will be able to apply color to each other comfortably.”

Gaurav's tongue was faltering while speaking. Seeing his faltering tongue, Preeti understood that he was very drunk at this time.

Preeti stood up from the ground and calmly told him, “Look Gaurav, you are very drunk at this time. Let me go.  I told you, I don't want to play Holi with you."

Gaurav got angry after hearing Preeti's words. He held her arms and pulled her close and said, "Why, why didn't you play Holi with me? Or did you play with that Sanjay Malhotra's son?"

Gaurav had held Preeti's arms very tightly due to which Preeti was in pain and when she heard Gaurav's words, she started looking at him with surprised eyes.

Gaurav tightened his hold and said, “What are you looking at like that? Did you think I won’t find out anything? I know everything that your father’s boss wants to get his son married to you. But remember one thing Preeti, no one can marry a deserted girl, a divorcee girl.”

Now Preeti was also angry. She said in a loud voice, “Not everyone is as low as you Gaurav. There are many people in this world who have high thinking and who also respect girls. They are not like you who dishonor their own daughter and sister.”

As soon as Preeti finished speaking, Gaurav slapped her hard on the cheek and Preeti fell straight on the ground. She was looking at Gaurav with nervous eyes, keeping her hand on her cheek.

Gaurav came near her and said, “He can adopt a deserted girl but I will also see how he adopts a disgraced girl.” Saying this, he came on top of Preeti and started forcing himself on her.

Preeti was trying her best to keep him away from herself but she was unable to do so. In this forceful act, Gaurav had torn the sleeve of Preeti's kurta.

Preeti was crying and asking Gaurav to leave her and was screaming for help but the night time and the deserted ground were not allowing her voice to reach anyone.

Gaurav was trying to kiss Preeti by bending over her face when suddenly someone kicked him hard on his face due to which Gaurav fell on the ground away from Preeti.

Preeti looked up and saw Vikram standing there. Seeing Vikram, Preeti quickly got up and hugged him.

Vikram also took her in his arms and started looking at Gaurav with his eyes turning red with anger. Vikram kicked Gaurav so hard that Gaurav's entire mind was shaken.

Vikram bowed his head and looked at Preeti who was crying while hugging him. Her whole body was trembling with fear. He saw her clothes which Gaurav had torn.

Vikram closed his eyes tightly and took a deep breath. He took out his coat and covered her with it and then he came to Gaurav rolling up his shirt sleeves.

Gaurav was still trying to control himself when Vikram held him by the collar and lifted him up and said while gnashing his teeth in anger and stressing on each word, “How dare you come near Preeti. You not only came near her but also did such a cheap thing with her.” Saying this Vikram started beating Gaurav.

Gaurav was already drunk and within a few moments Vikram had made him half dead but still Vikram was beating him in anger saying how dare you hurt Preeti.

When Preeti saw that Gaurav was in a very bad condition, she rushed to Vikram and holding his hand shouted, “Stop Vikram ji, he will die.”

On hearing Preeti's voice, Vikram stopped. He looked at Preeti with his red eyes and Preeti got scared seeing him. She left his hand and took a step back.

Vikram then looked at Gaurav whose face was covered in blood. He pushed him on the ground and said, “Today I am leaving you alive, next time if you even think of coming near Preeti, I will bury you alive in the ground.” Saying this, he turned.

Just then Gaurav said in a pain filled voice, “She was my wife earlier. Seeing her beauty, you are talking about making her your wife even though she is an abandoned girl, but I can also see that when people will bring a stigma on her, then how long will your love last, you will not accept her then.”

Vikram stopped after listening to Gaurav. He came near him and sitting down, he held his jaw and said, “What did you say that I can adopt a girl who has been abandoned but not a girl with a bad reputation, so listen to me carefully, I can adopt Preeti in any condition. But this will never happen. To hurt her, you will have to go through me first and you do not have the guts to face me.” Saying this, he let go of Gaurav’s mouth and took Preeti away from there holding her hand.

Preeti was looking at Vikram with surprised eyes and sometimes at her own hand which Vikram was holding.

Vikram came near his car and opened the door of the passenger seat and signaled Preeti to sit, Preeti sat quietly. Then Vikram also came to the driving seat and started the car.

Preeti was crying slowly while looking outside the window, gathering herself in herself. Tears were continuously flowing from her eyes. She was repeatedly remembering the scene when Gaurav was trying to force himself on her.

Vikram was not able to tolerate her crying.  He was looking at Preeti again and again. His hands on the steering wheel were tightening. He was not able to understand how to make Preeti quiet.

Suddenly he stopped his car and got out of the car. Preeti was a little surprised to see him coming out of the car. Vikram came to Preeti's side and opened her side door and signaled her to come out.

Preeti looked around. They had still not reached home, there was a deserted road there. She said to Vikram, "Why?"

"First come out, then I will tell you." Vikram said in a slightly loud voice and Preeti got nervous. She quickly came out of the car and started looking at Vikram with nervous tearful eyes.

Vikram looked at her for a moment and hugged her the next moment. Vikram closed his eyes and said, “I don’t know what I should say to you Preeti at this moment. I don’t know how you will calm down, but I can’t see you crying like this, that’s why I am hugging you. If you want, you can slap me later for this rudeness, but right now you hold me and cry as much as you want at once.”

On hearing Vikram’s words, tears started falling from Preeti’s eyes more rapidly and her hands automatically went to his back. She held him and kept crying for a long time.

After some time, when Preeti’s crying subsided a bit, Vikram separated from her. He held her face in both his hands, wiped her tears and said to her, “Preeti, you don’t need to be afraid as long as I am here. Gaurav can never harm you. I will never let any danger come to you, so don’t let fear of anything settle in your mind.”

Preeti was looking at him and listening to him.  She removed his hand from her face and took two steps back. Vikram got a little confused.

Preeti told him, “That is why you want to marry me, out of pity for me. I am a lonely girl, abandoned, that is why you are feeling pity for me. You thought that if you marry me, I will get support, then if even if you cheat after marriage, what will this girl say. When this girl did not break the relationship with that cheap man for the sake of her father's health, then she will stay with me in the same way. This is what is going on in your mind, right?”

Preeti was saying all this to Vikram in anger. She was completely emotional and broken from inside, so she was not able to understand what she was saying and Vikram was also understanding her condition very well, so he did not feel bad at all about Preeti's words. But he did not want to misunderstand Preeti either.

Vikram came to Preeti. He put his hand on her waist and pulled her closer to him and looking into her eyes said, "Our first meeting was at the hospital at 7:30 in the evening. We accidentally collided. You were about to fall and I held you. Your dupatta had come on your face due to which I could only see your eyes closed due to fear and I longed to see your face, so I slowly removed that dupatta from your face and when I saw you, I could not stop looking at you. I had never seen such a beautiful face full of simplicity and that face had won my heart in the very first sight. Then when I saw your sad face and moist eyes, I felt a pang in my heart. I was not liking your sadness, so I gave you my chocolate and also said a stupid line with it, but those words of mine brought a smile on your lips, seeing which my heart got relaxed."
