Dragons

Not Scomiche, but I was inspired by @Flame Tornado, so thank you so much for this idea. All credit is theirs.  Also bonus update today, bc this girl finished midterms yesterday. Enjoy!!

"Hey, Avi." I say as I press the record button and record a vine. "Dragons aren't real." He turns to the camera and super frowns. "Do you want to fight me? I'll fight you outside." He says. "Sure, let's go at it." I jokingly say. Avi grabs me by the arm and starts dragging me outside. "I was just kidding about the fight," I mutter under my breath. He drags me until we're far enough from the bus that no one can see. He takes a deep breath and starts stripping.

I laugh nervously and say "Woah, dude. I love you, but what are you doing?" He doesn't pause in his actions but warns me "This is top secret. You CANNOT tell anybody about this. Not even Mitch." He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. I watch as his body grows taller, towering above me. His face transforms into a snout with razor sharp teeth and piercing yellow eyes. His body stretches out and where his arms were supposed to be were wings.  To top the cake was the tail that grew behind him. I gaped at him, not believing that this was real. I started clapping and ask him "Wow! How did you  do effects for the turning into a dragon part? Where did you get a dragon costume that was so life like?" I ask rapidly, curious as to how he pulled off this magic trick.

He grumbles and bends down, allowing me to stroke his costume.  I frown as I don't find a zipper, and I ask "How did you get in here if I there isn't a zipper?"  Letting out a grumble, Avi picks me up in his claws and swoops in the air. I scream loudly as he carries me in the air. I can't believe this!!! My best friend and bandmate is an actual dragon!!!  He lands on the ground and gently puts me down. Once on the safety of the ground, I turn to him. "What.... how.... dragon?" I made no sense, as I randomly tried to get my thoughts into order. Avi turns back to his  human form and started to explain. "Once long ago, before humans came, dragons used to roam the wild. Then, the humans came and tried to get rid of us. We retreated into unknown parts of the world, where our king took a human mate and got her pregnant. That is how I came to be."

As he finishes his explanation, I stare at him dumbly.  "How did no one notice?" I ask. Avi smirks and says " We're shapeshifters. Makes it easier to hide." He starts to drag me back to the bus. "Now remember. Not a word of this to anyone."
