Author's Point of View

Two Days Later

17:30 | On Road

Taehyung had a meeting today at a restaurant, and now he was driving back to his company. The sky was dark, covered with thick clouds, and the wind howled outside. A storm was approaching, and Taehyung wanted to reach the company as soon as possible before the rain got worse.

However, luck was not on his side today.

Just as he was passing through a quiet road, his car suddenly came to a halt. He frowned and tried to restart it, but the engine refused to co-operate. To make things worse, when he reached for his phone to call for help, he realized the battery had completely died. He searched for a USB cable in the car to charge it, but of course, he didn't have one.

Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair and stepped out to check the car. Just as he opened the hood, a loud clap of thunder roared in the sky, and within seconds, heavy rain started pouring.

It all happened so fast that Taehyung didn’t even have time to get back inside his car. He was completely drenched in seconds. His suit clung to his body, cold and uncomfortable. He looked around and spotted a small house nearby. With no other choice, he hurried towards it, hoping to find shelter from the rain.

He didn’t knock or call anyone. He just stood outside the door, shivering slightly as the cold rainwater dripped from his hair and clothes.

17:45 | Jungkook's House

Jungkook and Aera were sitting on the couch, watching TV while munching on some snacks. The rain was pouring heavily outside, making the evening feel colder and cozier inside their warm home.

Because of the storm, Jungkook had decided not to send Aera to kindergarten today. Instead, they had spent the whole day together, playing games, cooking, and watching cartoons.

Aera was happily enjoying her show when she suddenly felt thirsty. She got up from the couch and started walking towards the kitchen. But just as she passed by the window, she saw something that made her stop.

A man was standing outside their door, completely drenched in the rain. His tall figure looked slightly cold and lonely as he stood there without moving.

Aera’s eyes widened, and without wasting a second, she ran back to Jungkook.

"Mumma! Mumma! There is someone outside the door! He is all wet!" she said urgently, tugging at Jungkook’s sleeve.

Jungkook frowned and looked out the window. The rain was too heavy to see clearly, but Aera was right. Someone was standing outside.

Maybe he is just taking shelter from the rain, Jungkook thought.

Still, he couldn't just ignore it. So, he got up and walked toward the door to check.

Aera, satisfied that her Mumma was handling it, continued to the kitchen to get her water.

—

Taehyung stood outside, hugging himself slightly to keep warm. The cold wind made him shiver, and just as he thought about leaving, he suddenly heard the sound of the door unlocking.

Slowly, the door opened, revealing a young man standing inside.

And just like that, everything around them seemed to fade.

Their eyes met, and time seemed to stop.

Jungkook looked at the man standing before him, and his breath caught in his throat. His wet hair stuck to his forehead, his sharp jawline, deep eyes, and the way the dim light illuminated his face—it made Jungkook freeze on the spot.

So handsome! Jungkook's mind whispered.

Taehyung, on the other hand, was equally mesmerized. He had never seen someone so effortlessly beautiful before. The boy standing in front of him had large, round eyes, soft pink lips, and a gentle, warm glow around him.

Beautiful! was the only word that echoed in Taehyung’s mind.

For a moment, neither of them spoke. They simply stared at each other as if trying to memorize every detail.

But their silent admiration was interrupted when a small, excited voice broke the trance.

"Handsome Unkie... You are here!"

Both men turned their heads at the same time.

Aera stood there with wide, sparkling eyes, her face filled with excitement and happiness.

Taehyung's lips immediately curled into a bright, boxy smile. "Sweetheart! You are here?" he asked, his voice filled with warmth.

"Yes, Unkie! This is my home, and this is my Mumma!" Aera said proudly, pointing at Jungkook.

Taehyung was about to say something when Jungkook spoke first.

"Baby, you know him?" Jungkook asked, confused.

"Yes, Mumma! Remember when we went to the park for ice cream? I went to help someone—that was this handsome Unkie!" Aera explained cheerfully.

Jungkook's eyes widened slightly as he realized who Taehyung was.

Meanwhile, Taehyung felt a strange feeling settle in his chest. When Aera called Jungkook "Mumma," a thought crossed his mind— oh so he is married and Aera is his daughter?

For some reason, the idea made him feel... sad.

"Oh, I see," Jungkook said, breaking the silence. Then he looked at Taehyung and offered a small smile. "Hello, my name is Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook."

Taehyung felt like he had heard that name before, but he pushed the thought aside for now. He returned the greeting with a polite nod.

"Hello, I’m Kim Taehyung. I'm really sorry for disturbing you. My car broke down, and while I was checking it, the rain started suddenly, so I came here to take shelter. I didn't mean to trouble you," he explained.

Jungkook shook his head. "Oh no, you're not troubling us at all. Please, come inside," he said.

"No, it's okay. I don't want to bother you," Taehyung hesitated.

"Mumma will not leave you here! Come in, Unkie!" Aera said, grabbing Taehyung's hand and pulling him inside.

"Yes, come in, please," Jungkook insisted.

Taehyung finally gave in and stepped inside. Jungkook quickly grabbed a towel and handed it to him.

As Taehyung dried his hair, he suddenly remembered where he had heard Jungkook's name before.

"Mr. Jeon, can I ask you something?" Taehyung said as Jungkook walked back from the kitchen, handing him a glass of water.

"Of course," Jungkook said.

"Do you know Sunshine’s Café?" Taehyung asked.

Jungkook's lips curled into a small smile. "Yes, I work there," he replied.

"Oh, then you must know Hobi Hyung?" Taehyung asked.

"Of course! He’s the owner, and he's like a brother to me," Jungkook said. "Wait… If you're asking about him, that means you know him too?"

Taehyung chuckled. "Yes, he’s my friend. The other day, he was talking about someone named Jungkook… now I realize that was you."

Jungkook blinked. "Ohh, so you must be one of the friends he wanted me to meet!" he said with realization.

"Maybe," Taehyung said with a small smirk.

Jungkook glanced at Taehyung's wet clothes and frowned. "Mr. Kim, why don’t you take a shower? You’ll catch a cold."

"But I don't have any clothes," Taehyung pointed out.

Jungkook smiled. "If you don't mind, you can wear mine. I think they'll fit you."

"Really?" Taehyung asked.

"Yes," Jungkook nodded.

"Thank you… and I'm sorry for bothering you so much," Taehyung said sincerely.

Jungkook shook his head. "You're not bothering us at all. You should have knocked instead of standing outside in the rain," he said warmly.

Taehyung smiled. "Okay, Jungkook."

Jungkook turned to Aera. "Bubba, will you take Unkie to my room?"

"Okay, Mumma! Let's go, Unkie!" Aera said, happily dragging Taehyung upstairs.
