Author's POV
~7 years later~
(A/N: Ok so when I started writing the story, Zara was 17/18 and Salaar was 19. It was Zara's first year of uni and Salaar's second. So after the time skip Zara is 24 and Salaar is 26. Now Zara is a doctor and Salaar is well....we'll find out. Also the male lead is extremely obsessive and possessive and maybe borderline toxic. I will not change that at all. He is going to go to many heights to get his girl.)
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT HAVE ANY CLUE ABOUT ANY MEDICAL PROCEDURES AND TERMS. THIS STORY IS PURELY BASED ON MY IMAGINATION. So don't come after me lol
"Doctor Zara, it's an emergency. Patient is 23. Name Akhtar. Had a bike accident. Right leg seems dislocated. Ribs might be broken. There's a head injury. Mild concussion." A cart rolled in the emergency room as three people pushed it forward. The simple diagnosis given by the ER nurse to the doctor provided Zara with some information she could work with.
"Do a CT scan immediately. Prepare OR number 4 and possibly arrange blood." Zara said in her professional tone as she fell in pace with the cart. She stepped aside as she let the nurse roll the cart for CT scan.
As she watched the patient go to perform the necessary tests, someone around her age came towards her. "Doctor, men Akhtar ka dost hoon. Wo theek to ho jaye ga na?" The young man said in a worried voice. He was covered with cuts and injuries as well. (Doctor, I am Akhtar's friend. Will he be ok?)
"Mr. Akhtar ki bohut critical condition nahi hai magar men kuch keh nahi skti. We will try our best. Ap tension mat len. Ap inki family ko notify kar den, humein shayad blood lagana pare." Zara said very professionally, her eyes holding no emotion. (Akhtar's condition is not very critical but I cannot say anything. We will try our best. Don't worry and please notify his family, we might need blood.)
"Thank you Doctor." The man said as he took out his phone. He turned around when he heard Zara calling him.
"Uhm sir, ap khud bhi apne aap ko treat kar wa len." Zara said as she looked around and finally found someone, she motioned her. (Uhm sir, you should get treated as well.)
"Nurse Faisal, please treat this young man's wounds. Thank you." Zara said to the nurse as soon as he reached the duo. As soon as she gave out the command, she turned around following where the stretcher was taken.
The guy kept watching her go thinking about how thoughtful she was. He sent a quick dua for her happiness and success to Allah. He snapped back to life when the nurse motioned him to come with him.
Zara followed the path the stretcher was taken through to supervise that the patient had tests done. After making sure the tests were done, she performed the surgery according to what she saw was needed.
At the end of the day, Zara was super tired, she could feel her lower back already starting to ache from how long she was on her feet. She went towards her office and took off her coat, putting it in her locker and taking her handbag out.
She closed the locker, sighing when she saw her reflection in the mirror. Without giving it much thought, she started walking out of her office and then out of the building as she passed the nighttime nurses.
She stood outside of the huge building as she saw the streets of Lahore filled with cars. She soon spotted her brother, Adeel, waiting for her in his car. Adeel and Zara had graduated a year apart and both were pursuing medicine.
However, Adeel went into physiotherapy whereas Zara went into general surgery. Although, they still worked at the hospital just in different buildings in respect to their fields.
Zara went towards the car eagerly and sat on the passenger seat while saying her salaam. The duo started talking about their day and all the gossip that happened in the hospital.
Zara looked outside quite a few times and saw a car following her but shook it off as she was too tired to properly think about anything other than sleep. As soon as she reached her house, she rushed out of the car and said a loud Salaam for everyone to hear.
She rushed to her room, changed into comfortable clothes and plopped on her bed. Before she knew it, her eyes closed and darkness consumed her.
Zara was hiding behind some wall, looking around for any signs of danger. Her heart was in a frenzy, it was as if something very close to her was in danger. She kept looking from left to right but could not see anyone.
Until she felt a rough hand engulfing her from behind, she tried getting out of the hold but the person was too strong. She stilled when she felt the person put their lip against her ear and whisper, "It's just me jaan."
Zara woke up sweating profusely, her hairs sticking to her forehead. The dream, which was more like a nightmare, had been occurring to her more than usual. Although, the dream used to stop when someone engulfed her.
But today, she heard a voice and she knew exactly who the person was. It was hard for her to forget. It might've been 7 years ago but the person left a very huge impact in her life. To this day, she still remembers his last words to her, 'When I am back, I will claim you the right way'
It did just more than make her terrified. She tried all she could to forget but she just couldn't. 'I think it's time I finally get married', Zara thought to herself as she got up and went to the bathroom.
Ever since her eldest brother, Ahsan, got married her parents had been trying to get her married as soon as she finished her studies in order to avoid any complications like before but she was always very wary of marriage.
Salaar's last words always rang through her head whenever marriage was mentioned and she would go still on the spot.
She washed herself and offered her prayers. She then went downstairs to enjoy her day off with her parents. Mrs. Siddiqui was making fresh crunchy paratheys in the morning while Mr. Siddiqui was watching the news. She started setting the food on the table, making sure only to put 4 plates.
Only Adeel, Zara and their parents live in this house now. Ahsan and his lovely wife had moved in next door after their wedding. The Siddiqui's thought it was best if the new couple lived on their own from now.
The Siddiqui family soon started having their breakfast. "Zara, apko kuch log aaj dekhne aa rahe hai. Sham ke waqt tyaar rehna." Mr. Siddiqui spoke up, letting Zara know about what she should expect. (Zara, some people are coming to see you today. Stay ready during the evening.)
Zara looked up and her eyes met Adeel's who just stared back at her, knowing what was going through her mind. "Magar-" Zara started to say but was cut off by Mrs. Siddiqui. (But-)
"Zara, usse gaye howe 7 saal ho gaye hen. Kuch nahi ho ga, ap fikar mat karo. Bache, kabhi na kabhi to shadi karni he." Her mother said, trying to reassure her. (Zara, it has been 7 years since he left. Nothing will happen, don't worry. Child, you have to marry one day anyway.)
Zara looked back at Adeel who just slightly nodded his head in reassurance. "Jee, theek he." Zara said and the topic was closed. (Alright)
Zara and Adeel started collecting the dishes and putting them in the kitchen to clean up. "Don't worry, you'll be alright. Trust me." Adeel said reassuringly to his sister as they were putting the dirty dishes in the sink.
"Yar bhai, I don't know. I had that dream again and I heard his voice." Zara finally shared what was on her mind. She took one plate and put some dishwashing liquid on it with a sponge.
"It's alright. It was only a dream. If something happens, we will be there to protect you. So chill and get ready for tonight." Adeel tried to make her mood better as he took the dish she put soap on and washed it under running water.
"Let's hope koi insaan ka bacha aaye aaj sham ko." Zara said lightly. She had met some guys on various occasions through her mother but they were all a little twisted in the head. (Let's hope a decent person comes over tonight.)
"Agar insaan ka bacha na howa to bana den ge." Adeel said as he puffed out his chest acting all manly. Zara just laughed and they kept cleaning the dishes. (If he isn't decent then we will make sure, he becomes decent.)

(Ok so this is like a day before where Zara's POV was.)
Salaar's flight landed on the smooth runway of Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore. It had been 7 years since he was last here. Leaving was not his choice but coming back definitely was and he intended on staying for quite a while.
The pilot's voice rang through the intercom, alerting Salaar about the time and temperature of Lahore. It was late at night around 1 am. He adjusted his expensive wrist watch accordingly and got up while fixing his fit suit. (A/N: Gonna make him stinkin rich.)
The others on the private jet saw Salaar getting up and stood up as soon as he stood up. The air host opened the huge door to allow the group to pass through in towards the hanger.
The group of men marched through the door and soon entered the brightly lit airport. Everyone stopped as soon as they saw the group of men dressed in fine black suits taking long strides marching through the airport. They were the center of attention.
Everyone looked extremely attractive in the group but one stood out of them all. He was at the very front with a sharp jawline, jet black smooth hair that would bounce with the slightest movement and dark shades to hide his eyes. He could easily be your airport crush. (A/N: Airport crushes>>>>)
Salaar walked in front of all the men and led them through the airport towards the VIP security section that was set only for the privileged. One by one all the men went through security and eventually came out of the airport and immediately entered cars that were available.
Salaar stepped out with Mikael and looked around to find the people who were here to pick him up. At a distance he saw his younger brother Huzaifa and one of his best friends, Rayan.
He walked towards and then hugged them tightly. They welcomed each other. After exchanging greetings, they finally started heading towards their homes. "Salaar, where are your... uhm.. partners going to stay?" Rayan asked, not sure how to address the people he saw with Salaar.
"They are going to stay in one of our hotels here." Salaar replied monotonously as he massaged his temple using his forefinger and thumb.
Huzaifa parked the car in front of the fairly huge mansion. Salaar opened his car door and stepped out followed by his brother. He entered through the huge doors of the mansion where he saw his mother and father waiting for him.
"Aa gaya mera bacha." Mrs. Sikander rushed towards her son. She grabbed his head and placed a kiss at the top of his head, her eyes watery. She had not seen Salaar for 7 years and no mother could bear that pain. (My child has come.)
"Assalamualaikum Ami." Salaar passed a small smile to his mother. His mother still looked the same apart from the fact that she was aging. He could see the wrinkles beginning to form around her eyes.
"Walaikum Assalam. Itni salon ke baad aye ho Salaar. Mera bacha kitna bara ho gaya hai MashAllah." Mrs. Sikander said as she roamed her old wrinkly hands across her son's shoulders, praying to her Lord to protect him from the evil eye. (Walaikum Assalam. You've come back after so many years Salaar. My child has grown so much MashAllah.)
"Hmm" Salaar said. Rasheeda Sikander quickly brought her son in the living room of the house where they saw Mr. Sikander sitting. He looked really weak.
A few years back, Mr. Sikander had 2 cardiac arrests one after another. Fortunately, he had survived but he had to give up his business and stay at home due to his health. Salaar had been taking care of all sorts of household expenses ever since.
He was the one who sent money so that they could move into a house that was near to the hospital. Once Huzaifa was old enough, he took over his dad's business but made it according to what he wanted. He had already consulted it with Salaar who was more than happy to see his brother growing up.
"Apko bhi Salaam Sikander sahib." Salaar said in a sassy voice. He still held a grudge against his father for sending him away. (Salaam to you as well Mr. Sikander)
"Walaikum Assalam mere bete." Mr. Sikander said as he tried to stand up. Salaar just motioned for him to remain seated and took a seat opposite of him. (my son)
"Mujhe beta na bulayein. Kabhi bete jaisa treat kia nahi." Salaar scoffed. He removed his coat and kept it aside then ran his fingers through his hairs. (Don't call me son. You never treated me like one.)
"Abhi bhi naraz ho apne baap se?" Nabeel Sikander asked him. He was aware of all he did to Salaar. He was very guilty about it but he didn't know how he could make it better. (Are you still mad at your father?)
"Kal ap sab tyaar rehna shaam ko. Ap mera rishta le kar kisi ke ghar jayein ge." Salaar ignored his dad's question and informed all his family. His mother was really happy seeing that she did not have to pressure him rather he himself was willing to marry. (Get ready tomorrow evening. You will take my rishta to someone.)
"Wow Salaar apko koi pasand aa gayi he? Turkey men mile the kia? Naam kya hai larki ka?" Mrs. Sikander asked a bunch of questions and Mr. Sikander sat up from happiness that he had found someone to marry. (Wow Salaar, you like someone? Did you meet in Turkey? What is her name?)
Salaar chuckled a little before saying, "Zara. Uska naam Zara he." (Zara. Her name is Zara.)
Mr. Sikander's eyes widened hearing who it was. He couldn't believe it. He thought Salaar forgot about her. Salaar just kept staring directly at his father with a smirk as if challenging him to go against Salaar. Mr. Sikander just averted his eyes, he knew he had no control over what happens now.
"Usse pasand kiye toh ab aik arsa hi ho gaya he." Salaar said as he looked at his mother. Before his mother could ask more questions, he got up.(It's been a while since I have started liking her.)
"Acha ammi, men thaka howa hoon to men jaa ke aaram karoon. Ap dono bhi jaa ke ao jayein, bahut der ho gayi he." He said and walked away as soon as his mother nodded her head. Huzaifa followed behind Salaar. (Ok mom, I am tired so I am going to rest. You guys should rest as well, it's very late.)
"Bhai, are you sure about approaching her? Don't you think it's too early?" Huzaifa asked Salaar once they were out of hearing range.
"Yes I am sure. I have waited for 7 years, is it still too early?" Salaar said in all seriousness. Huzaifa just nodded and walked towards his room.
Salaar's suitcases were already taken to his supposed room. He changed into some comfortable clothes and laid on the bed waiting for sleep to come over him as his thoughts went to Zara like always.

(Ok now it's where Zara's POV was left off.)
Zara was getting ready for the guests that were coming over tonight. Her bhabhi had come over to help her mother with the food. She was wearing a really beautiful almost light blue coloured shalwar kameez that had bell sleeves.
She wore very minimal jewelry not to appear too extreme. It would be a lie if she said she wasn't nervous. She had this weird feeling in her stomach like the one you get before a presentation. She just shrugged it off thinking it was natural to be nervous.
Before she knew it the doorbell rang, her heart beating harder. She was given strict instruction to not come out of her room and the only place she could go was the kitchen. She was only supposed to come to the drawing room when her mother said so.
Downstairs, the doorbell rang and the men in the house went to open the door and greet the guests. When they opened the door, they saw people they would've never expected.
The Sikander family stood in front of the door with flowers and sweet boxes as if they were here for an occasion. The Siddiqui men's faces paled seeing Salaar and his family. They thought Salaar's chapter was over.
"Ap humein ander nahi bulayein ge future sasur ji?" Salaar joked lightly. No one really found it funny though. Ahsan finally snapped back to reality and was about to close the door but like 7 years ago, Salaar was determined and forced it open. (Won't you call us in, future father-in-law?)
"Saat saal pehle jaisa nahi raha men ab. Is dafa jo lene aya hoon wo le kar hi jayoon ga." Salaar said in a firm voice while staring directly in Ahsan's eyes. (I am not the same as I was 7 years ago. I will take what I came for.)
The Siddiqui men didn't have much of an option so they let them in. The Sikander family was led to the drawing room where someone else was supposed to sit but the turns of events caught everyone off guard.
Mrs. Siddiqui saw them coming in and quickly asked, "Ye idhr kion aye hen?" She asked Mr. Siddiqui who was just as clueless as her. (Why are they here?)
"Assalamualaikum. Hum Salaar ki family hen. Hum apki beti Zara ka rishta maangne aaye hain." Mrs. Sikander said. She knew she had to step in or else Salaar could easily explode making everything so much worse. (Assalamualaikum. We are Salaar's family. We are here to ask your daughter, Zara's hand for marriage.)
"Humein maaf karein magar humne apni beti ka rishta kahin aur karwa rahe hen." Mr. Sikander said as calmly as he could. He feared that his other guests might arrive any moment. (Forgive us but we are giving our daughter to someone else.)
"Oh haan yaad aa gaya. Jo mehmaan apke ghar aane wale the, ab nahin aayein ge." Salaar said nonchalantly as he leaned back on the sofa. (Oh yeah I just remembered. The guests that were coming to your house are not coming anymore.)
"Kion? Tumne kya kiya hai unke sath?" Ahsan said in a worried voice. (Why? What did you do to them?)
"Kuch ziada nahi. Bas dhamki di thi ke unka beta kahin kaam nahi dhoond paye ga agr Zara ka rishta maangne gaye to. Mazey ki baat to ye thi ke wo mere hi business branch men kaam karta tha." Salaar just shrugged. (Not much. I just threatened them that their son might not find work anywhere if they asked for Zara's hand in marriage. The interesting thing is that their son worked in one of my business branches.)
The Siddiqui's were shocked, they couldn't do anything. They were absolutely powerless right now. The only thing they could try was calling the police. And that's what they thought they would do.
Adeel excused himself from the room and went to the kitchen where he dialed the police and explained somewhat of the situation. He came back and sat down acting natural.
Salaar continued, "Mene kaha bhi tha ke Zara sirf aur sirf meri he phir aap logon ki jurat kese howi ke uska rishta kahin aur karen." He was very angry when he heard that they were about to give Zara to someone else for marriage. (I told you that Zara is only mine then how dare you try to marry her off somewhere else.)
"Wese Zara hai kidhar?" Salaar asked. (By the way, where is Zara?)
"Humari beti ki jaan baksh do. Hum tumhare aage hath jorte hen." Mr. Sikander as his eyes filled up with tears. He could not let this happen but he couldn't do anything anyway. (Spare our daughter's life please. We join our hands in front of you.)
"Uncle aap fikar mat karein, Zara ko main bahut khush rakhunga. Wese to men bara koi zalim insan lagta hoon magar especially due to my occupation lekin Zara men meri jaan basti he." Salaar said in all trying to reassure his soon to be in-laws. (Uncle don't you worry, I will keep Zara happy. Although I might seem like a very cruel person especially due to my occupation, but Zara is my life.)
"Tum kya karte ho?" Adeel asked. Stalling for time till the police arrive. (What do you do?)
"Well you can say I own a lot of businesses. Do you know about the Hussain group?" Salaar looked at Adeel who just nodded his head in affirmation.
"I am the founder and CEO of that group but apart from that. I do something on the side as well." Salaar said not giving out much information about his side work.
"Oh wow that's-" They were cut off by the doorbell ringing. Adeel and Ahsan quickly got up to get the door.
Salaar just frowned, he thought he warned the previous family to not come. Adeel opened the door and led the officer towards the drawing room. Salaar saw the officer coming in and just starting chuckling.
He thought their effort to keep him away from Zara was really funny. Little do they know, the police would never interfere in his business. The officer saw Salaar and saluted him which shocked the Siddiqui family.
"Officer ap yahan?" Salaar asked as he turned his head sideways. (Officer you?)
"Ji Sikander sahib, humein call aayi thi ke koi disruption kar raha tha unke ghar. Mujhe nahi pata tha ke aap hen" The officer said as he looked at Salaar with respect and some fear. (Yes Mr. Sikander. We got a call that someone was creating disruption in their house. I didn't know it was you.)
"It's alright. You can go back." Salaar dismissed the Officer. He saluted Salaar and immediately left. The Siddiqui family had no clue as to what happened. They weren't sure Salaar had such a reputation here.
Salaar just clicked his tongue. He was trying his best not to get mad but they were testing his patience. "Zara kidhar hai?" He asked, the previous playfulness in his voice all gone. (Where is Zara?)
The family just remained quiet, no one speaking a single word with their gazes down. Salaar had had enough, he whipped out his gun and pointed it to Mr. Siddiqui.
"Men kuch pooch raha hoon." His voice was deadly calm. (I am asking something.)
"Kahretsin" He said something that nobody understood. (Kahretsin-Fuck (in turkish)) (A/N: I used google translate lol)
"Bhai, you go find her. I'll handle this." Huzaifa said. He knew that if they didn't answer Salaar would definitely shoot someone.
Salaar just gave him a long look and walked out of the drawing room. Huzaifa pulled out his gun and aimed it at them. Adeel was about to get up but Huzaifa just shook his head and said, "Don't. He will actually kill you. Although, he won't hurt Zara or anything."
Salaar walked around the house, trying to find the room where she would be. He went upstairs and finally found her room. He knocked on the door and heard the angelic voice he hadn't heard in 7 years.
____________________
Zara was upstairs going through her phone as she hadn't been called down although it had been a while since the guests arrived. Soon she heard the door open once again. She went to her window and tried to see if the guests were already leaving but couldn't get a glance at anything.
She tried calling Adeel to see if everything was alright but he didn't pick up his phone. So she just waited for someone to come to her and give her news of anything. Soon enough her door was knocked. She said a quick come in.
She heard the door open and close. "Mehman chale-" She said thinking it might be her brother but when she looked up her words got stuck in her throat. (Are the guests-)
She was not expecting the person at all. She immediately stood up with wide eyes. He had grown more buff than 7 years ago. Salaar looked at Zara as if trying to capture her in his mind. He couldn't look away.
Zara looked so beautiful. She had grown more beautiful. He couldn't believe he had missed seeing her grow for 7 years. His eyes looked at her with love and admiration while hers stared at him with fear and confusion.
"Salaar" She said, her voice barely a whisper as if not believing it was him. Salaar snapped back to reality.
"Salaar ki jaan" Salaar said in a deep voice as he took long strides towards her. He stood right in front of her. Zara had to look up to meet his eyes. (Salaar's life)
Zara started taking steps back from him to get away from him. Salaar took a step forward to decrease the distance between them all the while admiring how beautiful she was.
Soon enough Zara was pressed against the wall. She tried to push herself up against the wall to get away from him. "I missed you." He raised his hand to caress her face but she just closed her eyes and turned her head sideways. Salaar just moved her hair behind her ear to get a good look at her.
"Get..get away." Zara managed to say, her voice barely above a whisper. Salaar couldn't help but feel hurt that these were the first words she would say to him after 7 years.
"You look beautiful MashAllah." He said, still so close to her. Her eyes filled with tears as she refused to look at him. His gaze was that of a person that was looking at something/someone they really loved.
She just wanted to run out of there. She looked at the door and tried to make a run. She pushed at Salaar's chest making him go back a little as it caught him off guard. She tried running but Salaar was quick to grab her arm and pull her back.
"Don't ever run away from me jaan." Salaar whispered really close to her ear. He sat her down on one of the chairs and knelt down in front of her.
He took a hold of her hands in his big ones and looked up at her. Zara couldn't look at him, she was shaking on the inside. Everything that happened 7 years ago was coming to her mind.
"Why do you hate me so much? Even after 7 years, you still look at me with fear." Salaar whispered as he pushed her hairs back from her face.
"I will never even dream of hurting you." Salaar said. He was ready to do anything for her to love him back.
"Salaar, mera hath choro." Zara said as she tried taking her hand from his but he didn't budge at all. (Salaar, leave my hand)
"Never. You are mine and always will be. Aj meri family tumhare liye rishta le kar ayein hen. Soch samajh ke jawab dena." Salaar said in all seriousness. (My family came to ask for your hand in marriage. You better answer carefully.)
"Salaar, my answer is no. It always will be." Zara said in a low voice. She didn't even look at him to know he had a really murderous look in her eyes.
Salaar shook his head while sighing and said, "Just remember, your words are the one that will decide my actions. You're going to be mine anyway." He placed his rough lips to her smooth trembling hands as if claiming her.
He got up and walked downstairs. The Siddiqui family saw him coming down with a dangerous aura around him. He motioned for his family to get up and they left. The Siddiqui family rushed upstairs to Zara to see her crying while sitting on the chair in her room.
They came and hugged her trying to calm her down. They were doomed this time. On the other hand, Salaar just sighed. He knew they wouldn't agree which is why he will finally have to do what he didn't want to.

Assalamualaikum Everyone!!!!!!!
Here's the new chapter!! Salaar makes a very dramatic entry in Zara's life. I did give a little information and disclaimer at the starting I hope it helped.
Also I know I said I would update last weekend but something unexpectedly came up so I couldn't. But here it is, the new chapter. Plus I cannot tell you the amount of writers block I had while writing this.
Some additional information:
- Mikael does not have any family. He lived with Rayan as his family passed away young which is also why he decided to go to Turkey with Salaar.
- Mrs. Sikander knew that Salaar had some girl issue during university which is why he was sent away but never actually knew who Zara was till Mr. Sikander told her when Salaar told them about taking his rishta.
- Salaar's full name is Salaar Hussain Sikander. Hence, the Hussain group.
- Hussain group is a cover up for his actual occupation
- Hussain group is also a major shareholder of the hospital Adeel and Zara worked.
I know it's a lot of information but I thought it was unecessary to put it inside the story itself. Besides I couldn't find anywhere to put it in.
If you see any mistakes, feel free to point it out in the comments or contact me privately. If you have any concerns, leave a comment or contact me privately.
Let me know how it was.
